Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil (lower body) missed a third consecutive practice session on Saturday. He is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Pospisil tallied 24 points (eight goals, 16 assists) in 63 games with 238 hits during his rookie year last season. After previously featuring as a winger on the team, Pospisil is battling for a middle-six center position in training camp. The injury has come at a bad time for him, but Pospisil might still get some action in ahead of the new season next week when Calgary completes its preseason with a meeting against Seattle and a pair of games versus Winnipeg.

Martin Pospisil Set To Return To Action In Olympic Qualifiers
Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil (shoulder) appears to be fully healthy again, with Slovakia naming him on its roster for the upcoming 2026 Olympic Winter Games qualifiers. The qualifying tournament will be played Aug. 29 - Sept. 1 in Slovakia. Pospisil hurt his shoulder playing for his country in the 2024 World Championship. The 24-year-old had his rookie campaign in the NHL last season, collecting 24 points (eight goals, 16 assists) in 63 outings. A slight improvement in productivity will be expected from Pospisil in a middle-six role in 2024-25.

Martin Pospisil Starts Three-Game Suspension Thursday
Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil has been suspended for three games for boarding Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn in Monday's 4-2 loss. Pospisil was handed a five-minute major and ejected from the game for his hit on Dunn, who exited the contest with an undisclosed injury and wasn't in the lineup on Tuesday versus Winnipeg. The suspension will start with Thursday's matchup against Tampa Bay, and Pospisil will be eligible to return to action on March 12 versus Colorado. The 24-year-old rookie has collected 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 45 appearances this season. Matt Coronato, who practiced on the second line Wednesday, is set to replace Pospisil in the lineup.
