New York Islanders forward Zach Parise is likely to return to the lineup for Saturday's contest versus the Edmonton Oilers. The long-time veteran has missed the past three games after suffering a lower-body injury in a 7-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings on March 6. The American forward signed with the Avalanche midway through the season, tallying four goals and seven points across 15 games, averaging 14:15 of ice time in the process. A veteran of 1,239 career NHL regular-season games, Parise has notched 433 goals and 886 points in that time. The Avs also announced that forwards Jonathan Drouin (lower-body) and Artturi Lehkonen (illness) are likely to return Saturday while forward Miles Wood and blueliner Cale Makar are game-time decisions due to an illness.
Colorado Avalanche winger Zach Parise (lower body) will be a game-time call for Saturday's big clash with the Oilers. The veteran forward has been unavailable for three contests, sitting out action with a lower-body problem. Parise has made 15 appearances with the Avalanche since joining the team in late January, posting four goals and three assists with 30 shots on goal. He will presumably return in a third-line role, where he's seen most action with his new club.
Colorado Avalanche left wing Zach Parise will miss Friday's game against Minnesota with a lower-body injury. The 39-year-old is considered day-to-day. Parise comes out of the lineup after logging four goals and seven points in 15 appearances with the Avalanche. Following a quiet start in Denver, Parise has notched six points (three goals, three assists) in his last eight games. Miles Wood will take his position on the third line on Friday. With 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) posted in 59 games, Wood has had a decent season, but he's been held scoreless for eight consecutive games.
Free-agent forward Zach Parise won't be at the New York Islanders' training camp, general manager Lou Lamoriello announced on Monday. Parise became an unrestricted free agent following last season. In May, he said he would either retire or return for another year with the Islanders. The 39-year-old is currently focused on having family time at home in Minnesota. However, Lamoriello didn't rule out his eventual return. "I think he made the right decision for his family, and then we'll just keep the door open for him," Lamoriello said. "And as I said to him, we'll keep the number (No. 11) open, too." Lamoriello added that he didn't "feel" Parise would be retiring at this point. The left winger enjoyed a decent campaign with the Islanders in 2022-23, finishing as the team's third-best scorer with 21 markers and notching 34 points in total across 82 outings.
Despite coming off of a promising end to the 2020-21 season, the Minnesota Wild are parting ways with two key veterans: forward Zach Parise and defenseman Ryan Suter. Both players were placed on waivers on Tuesday and will have the final four seasons of their respective contracts bought out. Both players signed identical 13-year, $98 million contracts in 2012. Along with providing significant cap relief in 2021-22, the moves will allow the club to protect two more players during the expansion draft, which will fill the roster of the Seattle Kraken. The new club enters the league for the 2021-22 season. Colorado will receive more than $10 million in savings next year but will have significant penalties levied against them during years two to four of the eight-year buyout.
Zach Parise Is Scratched For Second Consecutive Game
Minnesota Wild left wing Zach Parise will be a healthy scratch for a second consecutive game as the team faces Anaheim. The veteran had a hot spell at the start of last month, but he's been disappointing for most of the campaign and headed into the press box on a nine-game pointless streak. He got fewer than 10 minutes of action in his final four games in the lineup, so the 36-year-old seems to have hit a wall at the minute. The former 40-goal scorer has managed only seven markers and 18 points in 44 games this season.
Zach Parise, Mats Zuccarello Return To Action Wednesday Night
Minnesota Wild wingers Zach Parise and Mats Zuccarello (lower body) will be back in the lineup for Wednesday's encounter with Colorado. Parise missed seven games in the league's COVID-19 protocols, while Zuccarello was out for two. The latter is Minnesota's third-best scorer this season with 22 points in 24 games, and fantasy managers should make sure that he's back in their lineups. Parise hasn't offered much in fantasy hockey this year, scoring just three goals and picking up 12 points in 29 outings. The veteran winger has a chance to join the 400-goal club in 2020-21, but he needs to completely turn around his season to get there, which seems very unlikely.
Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise will be in the lineup Friday against the Arizona Coyotes. He was a healthy scratch on Wednesday. Parise has three goals and six assists and will be playing on a line with Nick Bjugstad and Kevin Fiala. Hopefully, for fantasy managers who have Parise the benching and playing on a line with Kevin Fiala will help torecharge the wingers game.
Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise will be a healthy scratch for the first time in his NHL career when his team takes on the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday. The 26-year-old only played 13:44 of ice time in an overtime loss to Vegas on Monday but still managed to post one assist, a shot and a hit. However, Parise has picked up just five points (one goal, four assists) over his past 10 contests and only has nine points (three goals, six assists) in 19 games this season.
Forward Zach Parise and the Minnesota Wild defeated the division-rival Colorado Avalanche by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday in Denver. Parise scored his third goal of the year in the second period on assists from Matt Dumba and Marcus Foligno. The recorded marker was the 36-year-old veteran's 800th career NHL point. He is playing on the team's third line with Ryan Hartman and Foligno. The Wild are winners of their last four games. Minnesota plays again on Friday when they host the Los Angeles Kings at the Xcel Energy Center.
Zach Parise Scores First Goal Of The Season Friday
Minnesota Wild left wing Zach Parise finally scored his first goal of the season during Friday's win over the San Jose Sharks. The veteran forward has 16 shots on goal through the Wild's first five games. Parise scored in the second period to make it 2-1 in favor of the Wild. His teammates Kevin Fiala and Jordan Greenway also scored their first goals this season, adding two empty-netters to make it 4-1 for Minnesota. Look for Parise to continue firing the puck in his next game on Sunday.
