Best Value DFS Stacks
Each week, with the help of our premium DFS Stacking Page, we’re going to be diving into the main DFS slates for DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo to give you the QB-WR stacks that represent the best value on the board.
When possible, we’ll look to avoid throwing out the obvious names. However, just because a player is well known, that doesn’t mean they’re the easy pick when filling out your roster — and it also doesn’t mean that their price tag accurately matches their potential production. For example, last week we had Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen as one of our suggested combinations. The two had just struggled against the Dallas Cowboys, which led to them being underutilized in Week 3. They responded by combining to score 49.84 fantasy points, with both outscoring their weekly projections.
With that said, these are the five combinations you should keep an eye on in Week 4 of the NFL regular season:
Miami Dolphins (vs. Indianapolis Colts)
- QB – Jacoby Brissett (DraftKings: $5,100 / FanDuel: $6,500 / Yahoo: $20)
- WR – Jaylen Waddle (DraftKings: $4,900 / FanDuel: $5,400 / Yahoo: $18)
Last week, Brissett nearly led the Dolphins to a win over the Las Vegas Raiders, but they ultimately came up just short in overtime. Brissett wasn’t great throwing the ball in the game, as he was just 32 for 49 with no touchdowns or interceptions. He did, however, rush for 37 yards and a score, and he now gets a crack at his most recent former team, so he should be extremely familiar with their coverages.
On the season, only five teams in football are giving up more yards per play through the air than Indianapolis’ 6.3, and the Colts are also in the bottom half of the league against the pass in third-down situations. Both of those things make it likely that Brissett will be able to put together some successful drives in this game, and the fact that he is now willing to use his legs a bit more is an added bonus.
As for Waddle, it’s only a matter of time before the rookie really turns in a breakout performance. Last week, he hauled in 12 of his 13 targets for 58 yards and was clearly the guy that Brissett trusted the most. The veteran backup was peppering Waddle on shorter routes in the game, but he should get to work a little deeper on the field against a struggling Indianapolis defense. The Colts have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to wideouts this season, and Miami offensive coordinators Eric Studesville and George Godsey have to know that they can use Waddle’s speed to exploit Indianapolis.
This is tied for our fourth-best value on DraftKings this week and it’s also a good option on FanDuel. On Yahoo, Brissett is part of three of the top-five values, so you can pick your poison at wideout if you don’t want to roll with Waddle.

Carolina Panthers (vs. Dallas Cowboys)
- QB – Sam Darnold (DraftKings: $6,000 / FanDuel: $7,200 / Yahoo: $25)
- WR – DJ Moore (DraftKings: $6,600 / FanDuel: $7,300 / Yahoo: $20)
Darnold has looked like a Comeback Player of the Year candidate this season, as the 24-year-old has thrown for 888 yards with three touchdowns and just one interception, while also rushing for three touchdowns. Darnold is also the leader of an undefeated Panthers team, and Carolina offensive coordinator Joe Brady is getting the most out of the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
With Christian McCaffrey sidelined, Carolina is going to be leaning on Darnold to make more plays with his arm. That might not mean that the Panthers will continue to win games at a high clip, but Darnold should be able to continue to put up good numbers.
At 52.0 points — depending on where you look — this meeting with the Cowboys has one of the higher point totals of the week, which means both of these teams should be able to put up a lot of points. Also, the Cowboys are allowing more passing yards per game than anybody but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.
Moore is the player to pair with Darnold this week, as the 24-year-old just had eight catches for 126 yards against the Houston Texans. Moore has now had eight catches in back-to-back games, and he’s up to 31 targets through three weeks this season. Darnold loves looking in Moore’s direction and there’s nobody in this Dallas secondary that can cover him.
This is our fourth-best value on Yahoo and it’s one that is also a perfectly fine option elsewhere.
Atlanta Falcons (vs. Washington Football Team)
- QB – Matt Ryan (DraftKings: $5,400 / FanDuel: $6,700 / Yahoo: $24)
- WR – Calvin Ridley (DraftKings: $7,000 / FanDuel: $7,200 / Yahoo: $24)
Ryan had some costly turnovers in a 48-25 loss to the Buccaneers in Week 2, but he has shown some serious signs of grasping head coach Arthur Smith’s new offense. The veteran has completed at least 75% of his passes in each of the last two weeks, and he has thrown for 543 yards with four touchdowns in that span. Also, after averaging just 4.7 yards per attempt in Week 1, Ryan was at 6.5 in Week 2 and then 6.8 in Week 3. He’s starting to see open receivers and take some more chances.
This week, Ryan faces a tough Washington defense. Ron Rivera’s team did, however, get absolutely torched last week, with the Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen throwing for 358 yards with four touchdowns in a 43-21 Bills win. That gives Ryan hope heading into this week, and he’s a nice combination of affordable and unique. Not a lot of fantasy players will look in his direction this week, and that Is a good thing for those bold enough to take him.
Ridley, like Ryan, is not going to be rostered by enough fantasy players this week. The 26-year-old is yet to break the 100-yard mark this season, meaning that he hasn’t quite lived up to the hype he was receiving after the Julio Jones trade. Ridley has, however, received 21 targets over the last two weeks, so that type of performance is coming soon. He’s also running a lot of good routes, with Ryan launching a lot of passes to him in the intermediate-to-deep part of the field.
This grades out as a solid value across all sites. With Ridley primed for a superstar performance, there’s no reason it can’t be one that helps you place well.
Washington Football Team (vs. Atlanta Falcons)
- QB – Taylor Heinicke (DraftKings: $5,900 / FanDuel: $7,400 / Yahoo: $26)
- WR – Curtis Samuel (DraftKings: $3,000 / FanDuel: $5,300 / Yahoo: $16)
From an actual football perspective, Heinicke struggled in last week’s blowout loss to the Bills. However, the Washington quarterback continues to produce as a fantasy option, as he threw for 212 yards with two touchdowns and also added another 21 yards and a touchdown as a runner. That Buffalo defense is nothing to sneeze at, but that isn’t the case for his opponent this week.
Only three teams in the NFL have given up more passing touchdowns than the Falcons this season, as Atlanta has already allowed eight on the year. The Falcons happen to be one of four teams that hasn’t forced an interception on the season, and they also struggle to contain mobile quarterbacks. Heinicke isn’t quite Daniel Jones or Jalen Hurts, but he can easily average 20 or so rushing yards per game. Overall, this matchup seems like a great one for him, so it wouldn’t be shocking if he threw for something like 275 yards and two touchdowns here.
As for Washington’s running mate, the person you’ll want to go with is Samuel. The 25-year-old is making his season debut for Washington and appears to be healthy from the groin injury that sidelined him. Samuel hasn’t quite been a consistent fantasy producer in the past, but he came on strong in 2020. Now, he’s reunited with an offensive coordinator that knows he badly underutilized Samuel when the two were together with the Panthers. Look for Washington to get him involved early in this game, and the extra open-field opportunities that come with facing a defense as porous as Atlanta’s really suit Samuel’s game well.
This Washington duo is one that looks like the best value on DraftKings, but it’s fully capable of helping you cash elsewhere.
Philadelphia Eagles (vs. Kansas City Chiefs)
- QB – Jalen Hurts (DraftKings: $6,900 / FanDuel: $7,900 / Yahoo: $32)
- WR – DeVonta Smith (DraftKings: $5,700 / FanDuel: $5,900 / Yahoo: $17)
If you’re willing to roll the dice, there’s some serious potential in ignoring Hurts’ last start and firing him up as an option against the Chiefs. Kansas City is tied for the ninth-worst passing yards per game allowed this season, with the team giving up 269.7 per contest. Just last week, Herbert torched the Chiefs for 281 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
In Week 3, Hurts struggled a bit against the Dallas Cowboys, but Philadelphia was ripped apart by the media for the way the team approached that game. The Eagles barely put any players in pre-snap motion, and they also chose not to go with any designed runs for Hurts. Expect head coach Nick Sirianni to take all of that to heart and do a bit more to put his quarterback in a position to succeed in this one. Also, even if this does end up being something of a blowout, a negative game script wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for Hurts. Last week, the second-year pro didn’t play a good game as far as real life goes, but he did throw for 326 yards with two touchdowns and two picks, and he also added 35 yards on the ground. That ended up being a productive fantasy start.
Smith hasn’t had a great game since catching six passes for 71 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons in Week 1, but the opportunities have been there. Over the last two weeks, Smith has racked up 13 targets and some drops have prevented him from putting up better numbers. In a game where Philadelphia will likely be forced to throw pretty often, look for Smith to return to fantasy relevance.
This duo looks way too affordable on FanDuel, where it is our sixth-ranked value of the week. That doesn’t mean you can’t play it elsewhere, though. These two have serious boom potential.
