Adolis Garcia Blasts Three-Run Home Run

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia hit a three-run home run and walked twice in a 16-3 win over the Twins on Thursday. The slugger was stuck in a massive slump, so much so that he was benched for three games a week ago to mentally reset. The break seemingly worked wonders, as he has picked up at least one hit in seven straight games since. That includes a home run, two doubles, and two stolen bases in that span. The 32-year-old's overall slash line of .217/.263/.381 is still a sight for sore eyes, but this could be the start of him getting back on track. The upside is still immense, as he's only two years removed from hitting 39 home runs in 2023.

Adolis Garcia, Wyatt Langford Both on the Bench on Sunday

Texas Rangers outfielders Adolis Garcia and Wyatt Langford both find themselves on the bench for Sunday's series finale in Washington D.C. against the Nationals. Sam Haggerty will start in right field and hit in the two-hole, while Alejandro Osuna is in left field and hitting eighth against Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams. Garcia, who has been slumping all year, recently took four games off for a "mental break." Since returning, the 32-year-old has gone 4-for-15 with an RBI and a steal in four games. Langford will be getting his first day off since April 27. The 23-year-old former first-rounder has 11 homers and 11 steals in 207 at-bats in his second big-league season, but he's hitting under .200 with a strikeout rate over 30% in his last 20 games. Neither Haggerty nor Osuna have faced Williams in their careers, but Haggerty is the better DFS sleeper in the two-hole.

Adolis Garcia Back in Rangers Lineup in Seven-Hole

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia is back in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the hosting Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Shane Baz, starting in right field and batting seventh. Garcia has endured a season-long slump in 2025 and was benched for the last four games for a "mental break." The 32-year-old Cuban slugger enters Wednesday's contest slashing just .211/.258/.372 with a .630 OPS, seven home runs, 27 RBI, 17 runs scored, five stolen bases, 11 walks and 57 strikeouts in 217 plate appearances over 57 games played. He'll return to face a pitcher in Baz with an ERA near 5.00, but fantasy managers might want to keep Garcia benched until he shows some signs of a turnaround. It doesn't help his DFS value that he's in the seven-hole, either. Garcia is hitless in just three career at-bats versus Baz.

Adolis Garcia Remains on the Bench

Texas Rangers slumping outfielder Adolis Garcia will start yet another game on the bench on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Alejandro Osuna is starting in right field and will bat fifth against Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen. The Rangers are giving Garcia a mental break for the fourth straight game during a season-long slump to this point. The 32-year-old Cuban outfielder and former two-time All-Star has slashed .208/.256/.371 with seven home runs, 27 RBI, 16 runs scored, five stolen bases, 11 walks and 57 strikeouts in 215 plate appearances. He was even worse in May, slashing .189/.224/.333 with a near-30% strikeout rate in 26 games. As the Rangers are doing, fantasy managers need to follow suit and continue to keep Garcia on the bench. It's unclear when he'll return to action.

Adolis Garcia Still Resting in Series Finale on Sunday

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia is still out of the team's starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals at Globe Life Field as the Rangers continue to give him a mental break. Sam Haggerty is starting in right field and will bat ninth against Cardinals right-hander Erick Fedde. The Rangers have benched Garcia now for a third straight game as they hope that a little mental break will get him out of his season-long slump at the plate. The 32-year-old Cuban slugger has slashed a disappointing .208/.256/.371 with a .626 OPS, seven home runs, 27 RBI, 16 runs and five stolen bases in 197 at-bats. He hit just .189 (17-for-90) with three homers, four doubles, 12 RBI, a steal, six runs and 29 strikeouts in 26 games in May. Haggerty will have little DFS upside in the nine-hole and has gone hitless against Fedde in two career at-bats.

Adolis Garcia Could Continue to Rest

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (rest) will be given "as many days off as he needs to unearth his best form," according to Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. The 32-year-old has been sidelined since Wednesday without a disclosed injury. As McFarland notes, if Garcia doesn't play Sunday, he will have sat for five consecutive days before the start of the Rangers' next road trip. Manager Bruce Bochy told the media that the team has developed a plan for Garcia to follow before he returns to the field, and he'll be given ample rest time if needed. Rostered in 49 percent of ESPN fantasy baseball leagues, Garcia owns a woeful .208/.256/.371 slash line with a 73 wRC+, 5.1 percent walk rate, and 26.5 percent strikeout rate.

Adolis Garcia Getting a "Mental Break" on Friday

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia is out of the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals, according to manager Bruce Bochy. The Rangers will roll with Ezequiel Duran in left field, Wyatt Langford in center and Sam Haggerty in right field against Cardinals left-hander Matthew Liberatore. Garcia is having another down season so far in 2025 and has hit .189 (17-for-90) with three homers, four doubles, 12 RBI, six runs, one steal, five walks and 29 strikeouts in 26 games in the month of May. The 32-year-old Cuban slugger is slashing .208/.256/.371 on the season with a weak .626 OPS, seven long balls, 27 RBI, 16 runs and five steals in 197 at-bats. His xBA of .233 and xwOBA of .315 don't exactly give fantasy managers hope for a full rebound, either. Fantasy managers may want to keep him benched until he gets something going.

Adolis Garcia Powers Rangers Past Rockies

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, two RBI, and a walk in the Rangers' 8-3 win over the hapless Rockies on Wednesday night. Garcia now has six homers on the season and boosted his batting average to .229 with a .297 wOBA. Five of his six home runs have come at home, where he has a .327 wOBA compared to a .264 road wOBA. He'll stay at Globe Life Field for this weekend's series against the Rangers' in-state division rivals from Houston. Garcia's power potential can make him usable as a streaming or DFS option when playing at home, but he hasn't been consistent enough to be an option in standard-sized leagues to this point in the season.

Adolis Garcia Goes Deep

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Angels. This continued his productive start to the year, as he's now slashing .226/.310/.452 with three home runs and four stolen bases. He won't provide a good batting average, but his combination of power and speed will continue to make him an asset for fantasy. Even in what was considered a down year in 2024, he still hit 25 home runs and drove in 85 RBI with 11 steals.

Adolis Garcia Homers, Tallies Three RBI In Three-Hit Day

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia led his team to victory on Saturday, doing most of the damage in the 4-3 win over the Red Sox. After going hitless in the first two games of the season, the 32-year-old went 3-for-3 with two doubles and his first home run of the season, while also reaching base once after being hit by a pitch, collecting three RBI and scoring once in the process. The 2x All-Star is now 3-for-9 (.333) on the young season, and encouragingly, he has yet to strike out through the first three games. Garcia played in 154 games last season but muddled his way through to a .224/.284/.400 slash line and a 92 wRC+, so he'll be looking to improve upon that in 2025.
