Adolis Garcia Goes Deep

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Angels. This continued his productive start to the year, as he's now slashing .226/.310/.452 with three home runs and four stolen bases. He won't provide a good batting average, but his combination of power and speed will continue to make him an asset for fantasy. Even in what was considered a down year in 2024, he still hit 25 home runs and drove in 85 RBI with 11 steals.

Adolis Garcia Homers, Tallies Three RBI In Three-Hit Day

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia led his team to victory on Saturday, doing most of the damage in the 4-3 win over the Red Sox. After going hitless in the first two games of the season, the 32-year-old went 3-for-3 with two doubles and his first home run of the season, while also reaching base once after being hit by a pitch, collecting three RBI and scoring once in the process. The 2x All-Star is now 3-for-9 (.333) on the young season, and encouragingly, he has yet to strike out through the first three games. Garcia played in 154 games last season but muddled his way through to a .224/.284/.400 slash line and a 92 wRC+, so he'll be looking to improve upon that in 2025.

Adolis Garcia On Track To Serve As DH On Thursday

Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that outfielder Adolis Garcia (oblique) will get at-bats on the back fields at camp on Tuesday, and if all goes well, he will serve as the designated hitter in a Cactus League game by Thursday against the San Francisco Giants. The 32-year-old veteran is recovering from a Grade 1 left-oblique strain, but as long as he doesn't suffer a setback when he returns to game action, he'll have enough time to get ready for Opening Day in several weeks. The Cuban outfielder had the worst season of his career in 2024, but that consisted of a .224/.284/.400 slash line, .684 OPS, 25 home runs, 85 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 68 runs scored in 154 games played. Regaining his plate discipline and staying healthy will be key, but Garcia hits the ball hard enough and is in a good enough lineup for a bounce-back as a No. 3/4 fantasy outfielder.

Adolis Garcia Likely To Be Ready For Opening Day

Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that outfielder Adolis Garcia's oblique strain is "pretty mild" and "not quite Grade 1" strain. The Rangers expect Garcia to be back quicker than fellow outfielder Wyatt Langford (oblique), who has also been delayed early in spring training with an oblique injury. More than likely, Garcia will be ready for Opening Day later this month. Fantasy managers that already drafted Garcia can breathe a sigh of relief that he's not expected to open the season on the injured list. The 32-year-old Cuban slugger took a step back from his All-Star campaign in 2023, but he still managed 25 home runs, 85 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 154 games played in his fifth year in Texas. When looking at Garcia's hard-hit and barrel rates from 2024, nothing concerning jumps out, so there's a good chance he can return to the 30-homer mark if he stays healthy in 2025.

Adolis Garcia Scratched With Oblique Issue, Going For MRI

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (oblique) was scratched from Tuesday's Cactus League game after complaining of a left-oblique issue, and he will head for an MRI exam. It could just be a minor oblique issue, but even if it is, it could put Garcia's availability for Opening Day later this month in question. The 32-year-old Cuban outfielder had 25 home runs and 85 RBI in 154 games for Texas last year, but it was a notable drop in production after he hit .245/.328/.508 with a career-best .836 OPS, 39 home runs and 107 RBI in 2023 on his way to leading the Rangers to their first-ever World Series title. Garcia still hit the ball hard often last year, which gives him a pretty solid floor as a No. 3 fantasy outfielder with pop, but his oblique issue will have fantasy managers a bit hesitant to pull the trigger on him. Stay tuned for news on the severity of Garcia's injury.

Adolis Garcia Enters 2025 With New Swing

After a disappointing 2024 campaign, Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia revamped his swing and is gunning for 50 home runs and 100 RBI in 2025. Even during a down year, Garcia had 25 home runs, 85 RBI and 11 stolen bases, but his .224 average and .684 OPS were career-lows. The 31-year-old has worked to remove an early loop at the top of his swing to give him a "quieter" swing, according to manager Bruce Bochy. "Not a lot of movement. Not a lot of length -- with his stride or with the swing itself." He's more focused now on making loud contact, as opposed to trying to lift the ball. A knee injury bothered Garcia throughout last season, which may have impacted his results at the plate. The good news is that Garcia appears to be healthy this spring and is moving around much better. Better health will go a long way for him in 2025, and Garcia's floor is pretty high after averaging 31 homers in his four full seasons in Texas.

Adolis Garcia Has Normal Progression Leading Up To Spring Training

According to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com, Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (knee) had a normal offseason following his eight weeks of rehab. Garcia dealt with a left patella tendon strain during the 2024 season. Across 154 games, the 31-year-old posted a .224/.284/.400 line with 27 doubles, 25 home runs, and 11 stolen bases. He struggled at the plate as he held a hefty 27.8 percent strikeout rate. President of Baseball Operations Chris Young noted that he does not believe Garcia's injury limited him during the 2024 season but that he is in a "better place" entering the 2025 season. The slugger said, "I feel better prepared. I'm ready to go." Garcia enjoyed a career year in 2023 as he held a .245/.328/.508 slash line with 39 home runs. While he carries lower value in points leagues, given his high strikeout rate, he has elite power upside.

Adolis Garcia Resumes Running

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (knee) has resumed running this offseason and is expected to be ready to go for the start of spring training in mid-February, barring any setbacks. Garcia didn't require surgery on his left knee, but his 2024 campaign ended early due to a sprained patellar tendon. The 31-year-old Cuban outfielder made his second All-Star team in 2023 and then led the Rangers to their first-ever World Series title by setting career-highs in home runs (39), RBI (107) and runs scored (108) in 148 regular-season games. Garcia took a big step back in 2024, slashing .224/.284/.400 with a below-average .684 OPS, 25 homers, 85 RBI, 11 steals, 68 runs scored and 177 strikeouts in 637 plate appearances over 154 games played. It's good news that he should be fully recovered from his knee injury heading into the 2025 season as he looks to bounce back as a high-end power bat for fantasy managers.

Adolis Garcia Dealing With Sprained Patellar Tendon

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (knee) has a sprained left patellar tendon and will rehab for eight weeks before starting his offseason workouts. Despite dealing with a knee injury for the final few weeks of the 2024 regular season, Garcia will not need surgery for his knee injury and should be good to go for the start of spring training next February, barring a setback with his knee this offseason. After helping the Rangers win their first-ever World Series title last fall, the 31-year-old Cuban slugger regressed in 2024, slashing .224/.284/.400 with a below-average .684 OPS, 25 home runs, 85 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 68 runs scored in 154 games. It was a disappointment after he made his second All-Star appearance in 2023 by hitting a career-high 39 home runs and driving in a career-high 107 runs in 148 regular-season games. If Garcia can put his knee injury in the rearview mirror to start next season, he'll be hoping to bounce back as a more consistent power bat.

Adolis Garcia Undergoing MRI On His Knee

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (knee) is undergoing an MRI exam on his left knee, and the Rangers are hopeful he can avoid offseason surgery. A year after leading the Rangers to their first-ever World Series, Adolis is out of the postseason altogether and is now managing a knee ailment heading into the offseason. If the 31-year-old veteran were to go under the knife, it's unknown if it would affect his availability for the start of spring training in February or the beginning of the 2025 regular season. Garcia suffered his knee injury in the final week of the regular season. The two-time All-Star wasn't quite as impressive in 2024 in his fifth year in Texas, slashing .224/.284/.400 with a below-average .684 OPS. After setting career-highs in home runs (39) and RBI (107) in 2023, Garcia produced 25 home runs, 85 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 154 games for the Rangers. He'll be hoping to bounce back in 2025.
