Austin Brice Fantasy Stats

The Philadelphia Phillies have signed relief pitchers Austin Brice and Ricardo Pinto. Brice, who last pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2022, was inked to a minor league deal while Pinto was just added to the camp roster. Brice owns a career 5.12 ERA over 168 2/3 major league innings of relief and Pinto, who pitched for the Phillies back in 2017, owns a career 8.44 ERA in just 32 big league innings. Neither of these players should make much of a fantasy impact if they end up making the big league roster.

The Arizona Diamondbacks signed free-agent right-hander Austin Brice to a minor-league deal. Brice will head to the desert after spending the 2022 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He posted a 4.04 ERA (2.96 FIP), a 1.05 WHIP and five strikeouts in just 6 2/3 relief innings. At Triple-A Indianapolis, he went 3-4 with a 5.56 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, six saves and 53 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings. The 30-year-old has pitched in seven big-league seasons for the Pirates, Miami Marlins, Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox and sports a career 5.12 ERA (5.06 FIP), a 1.29 WHIP and 160 strikeouts in 168 2/3 innings over 144 appearances (one start). Brice will represent relief depth for Arizona in 2023.

Boston Red Sox right-hander Austin Brice has been tabbed as the opener for Sundays series finale against the Yankees. Brice has worked in four games out of relief this season, yielding four runs in 4 innings, including a pair of home runs. That propensity for allowing the long ball doesnt bode well against a New York squad that has cranked 14 home runs in seven games. Boston is severely lacking for starting pitchers with the news that Eduardo Rodriguez (heart) would be shut down for the remainder of the 2020 year, tabbing Brice to head a bullpen/opener outing. Covering innings has already proven difficult for the Red Sox and the Yankees offense should be in prime position to feast at their hitters-friendly yard.

Miami Marlins relief pitcher Austin Brice (forearm) has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Thursday. Brice missed three weeks due to a mild flexor strain in his right forearm. He's posting a 1.88 ERA in 38 1/3 innings with Miami this season. Brice could be mixed in for save chances down the stretch. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on Brice and see what the Marlins decide to do with him.

The Los Angeles Angels have claimed right-handed reliever Austin Brice off waivers from the Reds. Brice, 26, has a 5.68 ERA in 84 career big league innings, along with a 4.05 ERA in the minors. He is nothing more than a depth addition, and will have to fight hard for a roster spot on opening day. He is not fantasy relevant at this point.
