Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander Dillon Peters is being placed on the 15-day injured list with an undisclosed injury on Tuesday, per the league's transactions page. The move will be retroactive to June 3. Peters will be eligible to come off the injured list on June 18. The 29-year-old southpaw has made 16 appearances (four starts) for the Pirates this year and has allowed 11 earned runs on 14 hits while striking out 21 and walking 16 in 25 2/3 innings pitched. He has a decent 3.86 ERA, but his 15.4% walk rate is concerning, especially considering his 17.6% career strikeout rate in six major league seasons.
Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Dillon Peters will make the start against the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday. Bryse Wilson was expected to make the start, but has been scratched for an unknown reason. That being said, Peters will start, but his max pitch count this season is 43 pitches. He likely won't go deep into this game, but could see more starts, assuming this goes well. Peters has allowed one hit with eight strikeouts in 10 1/3 scoreless innings this season.
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Dillon Peters will make the start against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. He was acquired from the Los Angeles Angels last month in exchange for cash considerations. Peters has never had much success at the MLB level and wasn't too sharp in the minors. The Brewers can handle the bats pretty well, so Peters is looking like someone who should be avoided as a streaming option for Sunday.
The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired left-hander Dillon Peters from the Los Angeles Angels on Monday and have assigned him to Triple-A Indianapolis. In a corresponding move, the team designated right-hander Kyle Crick for assignment. Peters has not pitched in the big leagues this year and allowed three earned runs on two homers in just 1 2/3 innings with the Angels last year. The 28-year-old southpaw had a 4.35 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 48/13 K/BB in 41 1/3 innings over eight starts for Triple-A Salt Lake before the trade. There's a chance we see him with Pittsburgh at some point, but he won't be a viable fantasy streamer. Crick has pitched in high-leverage situations for the Bucs before, but he had a 4.44 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 21/19 K/BB in 24 1/3 relief innings for Pittsburgh this year.
Angels left-handed pitcher Dillon Peters was designated for assignment Wednesday, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. This move comes after the team agreed to a contract with outfielder Adam Eaton. Peters hasn't appeared in a game with the Angels this season, spending all of 2021 in Triple-A. He hasn't performed well in 132 2/3 career innings in the majors over four seasons, either, posting a career 5.83 ERA, 16.7 K% and 9.9 BB%. If Peters latches on with another team, don't expect him to give fantasy managers any value.
Los Angeles Angels left-handed pitcher Dillon Peters (oblique) isn't expected to be fully healthy until mid-July after straining his oblique muscle in spring training. It means that Peters might not be ready for Opening Day in late July. The 27-year-old southpaw went 4-4 with a 5.38 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 55 strikeouts in 72 innings for the Halos in 2019, but he won't be guaranteed to see any time in the starting rotation in the shortened 60-game season in 2020. You can ignore Peters in all fantasy formats for the time being.
The Los Angeles Angels recalled pitcher Dillon Peters from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday to serve as the opener against the Mariners. First baseman/pitcher Jared Walsh was optioned to Salt Lake in a corresponding move. The left-handed Peters has a 3.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 12.0 K/9 in three relief innings for the Halos this year. He's 3-4 with a 5.95 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 7.0 K/9 in 11 starts and five relief appearances in his three-year big league career. Peters won't be a reliable streaming option on Saturday against Seattle, even in the deepest of leagues.
Odrisamer Despaigne Activated from DL, Dillon Peters Optioned
The Miami Marlins activated reliever Odrisamer Despaigne (forearm) from the 10-day disabled list on Monday, and in a corresponding move optioned reliever Dillon Peters to Triple-A New Orleans, reports Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald. Peters did not make an appearance for the Marlins in his most recent stint in the majors, leaving his season totals at a 6.31 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over 25 2/3 innings. Despaigne has not pitched since April 19 after landing on the disabled list with a right forearm strain. Over eight appearances this season prior to his injury, Despaigne had allowed 11 runs (10 earned) on 16 hits and four walks with 12 strikeouts over 14 2/3 innings. The Marlins will hope that Despaigne's return will provide support to a bullpen prone to imploding, but fantasy owners should not look to add Despaigne in any leagues.
Adam Conley, Dillon Peters Recalled by Marlins Friday
The Marlins recalled left-handed pitchers Adam Conley and Dillon Peters from Triple-A New Orleans on Friday, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro. Conley and Peters join Miami after the team optioned reliever Tyler Cloyd to Triple-A and designated reliever Junichi Tazawa for assignment on Thursday. Conley and Peters had both been part of the New Orleans rotation, but for now will pitch out of the bullpen for the Marlins. These two likely won't have much value outside of deep NL-only leagues or leagues that count holds in scoring.
Miami Marlins starter Dillon Peters got absolutely wrecked on Saturday after giving up nine earned runs in less than three innings against the Phillies. Peters, who entered the start following a a seven-inning shutout in his previous start, surrendered two grand slams against the Phillies before the third inning was over. Peters was promptly removed after the second grand slam, though the Marlins bullpen gave up 11 more runs for a 20-1 loss. On the season, Peters is 1-1 with a 9.35 ERA.
