NBA DFS Picks for Wednesday the 10th
Happy New Year to everyone!!! A new year is upon us, which means the DFS lineups that didn’t work out are now wiped clean. With a new year means new opportunities to stack up the cash. There are eight games for the main DFS lineups tonight, which gives us a nice crop of players to choose from. Let’s start the new year off right.
For the DFS projections and pricing, we will be using FanDuel and DraftKings.
NBA Quick Links
Point Guard
Jaden Ivey (FD: $6,400, DK: $6.800): Jaden Ivey has had an up-and-down sophomore season with the Detroit Pistons so far. He has gone from not playing at all; to playing big minutes in close games. The rotation is just not consistent, but Ivey has to garner a bigger load with Cade Cunningham out for an unknown period of time. A 22-5-6 line yesterday, in 32 minutes, is a good starting point for the new starting point guard.
Andrew Nembhard (FD: $6,000, DK: $5,200): Another player that might take advantage due to an unfortunate injury to a star point guard; Andrew Nembhard is going to get a chance tonight. Tyrese Haliburton got injured in the Pacers’ last game, which now leaves the point guard spot open. T.J. McConnell has a higher price than Nembhard, but Nembhard did start the second half in their last game after Haliburton went down.
Shooting Guard
Devin Vassell (FD & DK: $7.300): The San Antonio Spurs are taking things really slow with Victor Wembanyama, as they are now giving him a minutes restriction after his sprained ankle injury he suffered during warmups. Wemby is still getting his points, but the lack of minutes gives Devin Vassell the freedom to shoot as much as possible, which is not something he is afraid of doing.
Kelly Oubre Jr. (FD: $6,300): Kelly Oubre Jr. is starting to get his rhythm back after he missed several games due to a multitude of injuries from that hit-and-run incident. He is getting back to his scoring ways, which will be needed more with the absence of Joel Embiid tonight. The Sixers play an awful Atlanta Hawks defense tonight that should allow Oubre to get going early.
Small Forward
Bojan Bogdanovic (FD: $6,900, DK: $6,600): We have already talked about the Cade Cunningham injury. That has left a void in a multitude of areas. One would be the scoring and Bojan Bogdanovic is not scared to take over that department. He has been a good scorer in this league for a long period of time now. The Spurs defense is a bottom tier defense along with the Pistons. This game should be close and very high scoring, which benefits Bogdanovic.
Keegan Murray (FD: $6,400): The Sacramento Kings are playing the second night of a back-to-back. However, Keegan Murray might like that because he was on fire last night. 32 points with 5 threes for Murray against the Pistons. They go from facing one bad defense to playing another horrid defense in the Charlotte Hornets. For a cheaper price, Murray is a great option to continue his hot hand.
Power Forward
Kyle Kuzma (FD: $8,100, DK: $7,800): The biggest issue with trusting Kyle Kuzma is the Washington Wizards being one of the worst teams in recent NBA history. They are awful and tend to not have to play their starters in the fourth quarter due to them getting blown out by 30+. However, the Pacers are missing Haliburton and perhaps the Wizards can keep things closer down the stretch. The closer the game means Kuzma will be having a very good game.
Jonathan Kuminga (FD: $6,000, DK: $5,600): Jonathan Kuminga has been in the news after he went through Shams Charania to voice his displeasure with Steve Kerr’s coaching decisions. The minutes for Kuminga fluctuate every game depending of Kerr trusts him or not. However, Kuminga has been solid in the absence of Draymond Green, which could be ending soon. This one selection isn’t a slam dunk, but Kuminga have a solid performance for your DFS lineups tonight.
Center
Jalen Duren (FD: $7,400, DK: $7,100): Yes, this is another Pistons player, but there is good reasoning behind the choices. Their matchup tonight is in their favor for certain players in a DFS setting. Furthermore, there are more opportunities with no Cade Cunningham in the lineup. Jalen Duren is one of the few players that has been promising all season long. The team knows he is part of the future and garners the playing time and stats to back up that notion.
Trayce Jackson-Davis (FD: $5,900, DK: $5,400): Trayce Jackson-Davis was a second round pick for the Golden St. Warriors, but has seen his role increased on a game-to-game basis it seems. He has gained the trust of the coaching staff and has seen his minutes increase tremendously. Draymond Green will be returning soon, which might hamper his role a little bit, but tonight is another night of riding him with his low cost.
