San Antonio Spurs center Charles Bassey (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Bassey is now set to miss his fourth game in a row due to a bone bruise in his left knee. The 24-year-old figures to play a big role in the rotation once he's cleared to play again. For now, Bismack Biyombo, Jeremy Sochan, and Sandro Mamukelashvili should all see more playing time with the Spurs limited at the center spot. Sochan is the only player worth rostering out of the three players right now.
San Antonio Spurs center Charles Bassey (knee) will not suit up for Tuesday's tilt against the New Orleans Pelicans. He was injured in the same matchup on Sunday night and has been diagnosed with a bone bruise on his left knee. Bassey only recently returned from a right MCL sprain, so the 24-year-old has had horrible luck with injuries. With Victor Wembanyama (shoulder) sidelined, Bismack Biyombo is looking at a fourth consecutive start at center. The veteran has averaged 6.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals in the role. Due to the frontcourt injuries, Sandro Mamukelashvili also has a chance to see more time on the floor.
Free-agent center Charles Bassey (knee) agreed to a one-year, $2.2 million contract to remain in San Antonio. The 23-year-old has spent the last two seasons with the Spurs, most recently averaging 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 points in 19 games during the 2023-24 campaign. Unfortunately, Bassey suffered a torn ACL in December, so he may not be available to begin the season. But even when he's ready to return, he likely won't see the minutes required to be a viable fantasy option.
Philadelphia 76ers forward/center Charles Bassey had only three points in 16 minutes during the win over the Nuggets in Las Vegas. Despite Bassey's performance on Friday night, the 21-year-old has played relatively well throughout his time in Summer League. While Paul Reed appears to have a more promising upside, Bassey may at least continue to suit up at the professional level in 2022-23. However, that won't make him relevant in any fantasy format outside of a dynasty stash.
