Dylan Harper Set to Suit Up Wednesday

According to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper (calf) is available to suit up for Wednesday's matchup against Portland after missing 10 straight games due to a calf strain. His return adds needed depth while second-year guard Stephon Castle (hip) is out of action. Harper's role may shift early on as the Spurs sort out how to divide minutes between De'Aaron Fox, Castle, and Harper once everyone is ready to return. Before sustaining the calf injury, the 19-year-old rookie was averaging 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists across six appearances.

Dylan Harper Nearing Return From Calf Strain

San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper (calf) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup against Portland after missing 10 straight games. His return adds needed depth with second-year guard Stephon Castle (hip) still out. Harper's role may fluctuate early as the Spurs sort out how to divide touches between De'Aaron Fox, Castle and Harper once everyone is healthy. Harper averaged 13.8 points on 50.0 percent shooting with 4.2 assists across his last five outings, giving him stash appeal for managers willing to wait.

Dylan Harper to "Miss Multiple Weeks"

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper (calf) will "miss multiple weeks." The rookie was injured during Sunday's loss to the Phoenix Suns and was observed leaving the arena in a walking boot. Luckily, an MRI confirmed he only suffered a calf strain. While "multiple weeks" doesn't specify exactly how long Harper will be out of the equation, fantasy managers might see him back on the floor before the end of the month. Unfortunately, the eventual return of De'Aaron Fox (hamstring) may impact Harper's workload. The 2025 No. 2 overall pick has played well in his inaugural year, averaging 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. In the meantime, Jordan McLaughlin could be in line for more work, although he's not worth rostering in most fantasy formats.

Dylan Harper Exits Arena Sunday in Walking Boot

San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper (calf) exited the team's loss to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday in the second quarter while trying to defend a Nick Richards dunk. The rookie suffered a calf injury of sorts and didn't return to the game. Afterwards, he was seen leaving the arena on crutches and wearing a walking boot. Head coach Mitch Johnson didn't have any further information during the post-game press conference, so fantasy managers will likely have to wait for any tests that will be done soon. Before leaving, Harper registered 12 points (5-8 FG) and one rebound in 11 minutes. Stephon Castle and Devin Vassell will likely be tasked with more responsibilities if Harper has to miss any time, especially since De'Aaron Fox (hamstring) hasn't debuted yet. Jordan McLaughlin could also see some added minutes off the bench for relief point guard duties.

Dylan Harper in Line to Play in First Preseason Game

San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper (thumb) has officially been cleared for his preseason debut on Friday against the Utah Jazz. According to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, Harper is "in line" to receive some minutes for his first exhibition game ahead of the new season. The second-overall pick underwent thumb surgery about a month ago to address a torn ligament in his left thumb, and was hopeful at the time that he would be ready for the season opener. Barring any setbacks, it looks like the Rutgers product should be ready to go. In his lone year at Rutgers, Harper averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while shooting .484 from the floor and .333 from deep.

Dylan Harper Hoping to be Ready for the Opener Versus Dallas

San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper (thumb) suffered a partially torn ligament in his left thumb. He suffered the injury while training on Wednesday, resulting in surgery. The rookie is hoping to be ready for the opener versus the Dallas Mavericks on October 22. Harper was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. In 29 games at Rutgers, he averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.4 steals. The latest update shouldn't decrease his value for dynasty managers. On the other hand, Harper's redraft stock should fall, even more so if he's not cleared to suit up to begin the season. The 19-year-old is expected to come off the bench in 2025. He could have difficulty being a reliable fantasy producer, as long as De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Victor Wembanyama are healthy.

Dylan Harper Out Thursday, Expected to Play Saturday

San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper (groin) will sit out Thursday's Las Vegas Summer League clash against the Philadelphia 76ers but is expected to suit up later in the week. Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports that the Spurs "expect him to be ready for Saturday." On Saturday, San Antonio will face Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks, setting the stage for a mouthwatering matchup between two of the top picks in this year's draft. Harper missed all three games at the California Classic Summer League due to a groin issue.

Dylan Harper Unavailable for California Classic

NBA reporter Matthew Tynan reports that San Antonio Spurs point guard Dylan Harper (groin) will be unavailable to suit up for the California Classic held in San Francisco due to a groin issue. The Rutgers standout was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft after the Mavs selected Cooper Flagg. He will have the opportunity to suit up alongside Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. De'Aaron Fox will also be good to go for the upcoming campaign after season-ending surgery to repair tendon damage to his left pinkie finger back in March. Harper will likely take on a heavy workload during his rookie season.
