Toronto Raptors guard/forward Gradey Dick suffered a groin contusion in Sunday's meeting with Washington, exiting the game after logging 25 minutes of action. Dick was back on the bench Sunday but still performed well, posting 13 points and four rebounds with 3-for-5 shooting from deep. The 20-year-old rookie has been ever-present for Toronto since Jan. 20 but might now need to have some time off to recover. Bruce Brown and Ochai Agbaji should share most of Dick's minutes if he isn't in the lineup on Tuesday against Indiana. This will be a juicy fantasy matchup, as two up-tempo teams go head-to-head.
Toronto Raptors shooting guard Gradey Dick (thumb) is questionable for Wednesday's meeting with Miami. The rookie has sprained his right thumb. Dick was a high draft pick in the summer but hasn't made much of an impact for the Raptors during his first year in the league. He's seen the court in just 20 games, averaging 12.4 minutes. Dick's woeful shooting has held him back big time, as he boasts a miserable 28.2 shot percentage from the field and has hit only 23.9 percent of his attempts from downtown.
Gradey Dick Has His Best Summer League Performance Wednesday
Toronto Raptors guard/forward Gradey Dick was finally able to string together a complete performance in his third Summer League outing Wednesday versus Detroit, leading all scorers with 22 points and notching seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Dick has struggled to score the basketball in the Summer League and had some efficiency issues against the Pistons as well, but he mostly hurt his shooting numbers with a 2-for-10 performance from behind the arc. The 19-year-old was 6-for-9 with his two-point efforts. The 13th pick of this year's draft has shown that he can help the Raptors in multiple ways, having averaged 14.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals in the Summer League.
