Max Strus News
According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, Cavaliers forward Max Strus expects to start this season. Strus agreed to a four-year, $62 million contract with the Cavs in July after spending four seasons in Miami. Statistically, he had the best year of his career in 2022-23, averaging 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. However, he recorded 14.0 points, 3.6 boards, and 2.4 assists in 33 starts. Strus' three-point percentage went south last season, and he's also not expected to be a routine fantasy contributor, considering the team has Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley on the roster. But he should have more than a few solid fantasy performances, so he deserves attention from those in deeper formats heading into the 2023-24 campaign.
The Indiana Pacers are strongly considering offering guard Max Strus a contract once free agency opens. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, ''The Pacers are strongly weighing a three-year offer for Strus in the $48 million range". The 27-year-old guard is coming off his best statistical season in points, rebounds, and assists and could be looking at a nice payday. He averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists last season. Strus proved to be a pivotal piece in the Miami Heat's last two deep playoff runs and could improve even more with a bigger role with a young Pacers team.
Miami Heat swingman Max Strus is being aimed at by the Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic, and Detroit Pistons this offseason, per Yahoo Sports' Jake Fischer. The 27-year-old is generating some buzz on the open market after acting as a key contributor to Miami's deep playoff run this past season. Strus has developed into a solid, low-usage role player while putting forth 11.1 points and 2.6 threes per game on 37.6% shooting from downtown over 149 contests since the 2021-2022 campaign. The floor-stretching swingman's lineup versatility makes him a portable fit on just about any NBA roster.
Miami Heat guard/forward Max Strus contributed 10 points in Saturday's 104-103 loss to the Celtics, shooting 3-for-8 from the field and 2-for-5 from downtown. This was a good bounce-back effort from Strus, who has combined for only 12 points in the previous two games. He wrapped up his line with one rebound and three assists in 25 minutes. The 27-year-old sniper is enjoying a decent postseason, having averaged 10.5 points per game with 3.2 rebounds.
