Ja Morant Considered Day-to-Day

Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports that Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (calf) is now considered day-to-day after missing nine consecutive contests due to a Grade 1 right calf strain. The star point guard was active during parts of Thursday's practice, and his next chance to play comes Friday against the Clippers. However, Morant will have to get in a few full practices under his belt and realistically, he will likely return to the floor in mid-December.

Ja Morant to Miss at Least Two Weeks

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (calf) has been ruled out until the team can re-evaluate their star in two weeks. Morant suffered a Grade 1 right calf strain during Saturday's matchup with the Cavaliers. The 26-year-old is averaging just 17.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.6 assists and one steal per game as the Grizzlies have started the season 4-10. Morant's shooting touch has been off this season, as the career 31% three-point shooter is hitting at just a 16.7% mark this season. Jaylen Wells, Cedric Coward and Cam Spencer could all see an increased role in the lineup with Morant sidelined.

Ja Morant Exits With Calf Injury Saturday

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (calf) was limited to six minutes in Saturday's 108-100 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Returning to action after missing one game due to an ankle problem, Morant lasted less than 10 minutes against Cleveland due to right calf soreness. Vince Williams Jr. took Morant's spot in the starting lineup for the second half, finishing the contest with eight points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 27 minutes. Although Williams Jr. couldn't get it done offensively on Saturday, he will be an interesting fantasy piece if Morant has to miss additional time, especially with Ty Jerome (calf), Javon Small (toe), and Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) all missing from the backcourt.

Ja Morant Off The Injury Report, Will Play Saturday

Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (ankle) is off the injury report and expected to start when the team visits the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon. Morant missed Wednesday's blowout loss to the Boston Celtics after head coach Tuomas Iisalo said the two-time All-Star injured his ankle during Tuesday's loss to the New York Knicks. Morant's struggles on the court have been much publicized. He's averaging 18.9 points, the lowest mark since his rookie season, along with 8.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in about 30 minutes per game.

Ja Morant Unavailable Wednesday

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (ankle) will be sidelined for Wednesday's matchup with the Boston Celtics. Morant is dealing with soreness in his left ankle after tweaking it during Tuesday's 133-120 loss to the Knicks. Morant has averaged 18.9 points, 8.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 30.8 minutes per contest across 11 games this season. Cam Spencer will likely start while the 26-year-old star point guard is out, while Jaren Jackson Jr. could see extra scoring opportunities during tonight's tilt.

Grizzlies Suspend Ja Morant for One Game

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant has been suspended by the team for one game because of detrimental conduct. Morant struggled badly in Friday's matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, finishing with eight points on 3-for-14 shooting, and he was visibly upset after the game. "According to [the coaching staff], probably don't play me, honestly," Morant said postgame. "That's basically what the message was. It's cool." Morant also told reporters to "go ask the coaching staff" when asked about his struggles. As a result of the suspension, Morant won't be available for Sunday's contest against the Toronto Raptors. This will likely lead to increased roles for Javon Small and Cam Spencer.

Ja Morant Questionable for Friday's Action

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (ankle) is considered questionable to play on Friday versus the Miami Heat. The oft-injured guard is currently on the injury report with left ankle soreness. Morant kicked off the new campaign in style, producing 35 points in just 29 minutes against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night. Ty Jerome (calf) and Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) remain out against Miami, meaning the Memphis backcourt must rely on the untested duo of Javon Small and Cam Spencer if Morant can't play. Of the two players, Spencer had the better opening-night performance, finishing with seven points and two assists in 12 minutes.

Ja Morant Expected to Suit Up Wednesday

Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (ankle) is expected to be available to suit up for Wednesday's regular season opener versus the New Orleans Pelicans. Morant sprained his left ankle during practice in early October and has had a long list of injuries the last few seasons. During the 2024-25 campaign he averaged 23.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 30.4 minutes per contest across 50 appeearences. Despite playing in just 58 games in the last two seasons the 26-year-old still remains a top fantasy asset when he is healthy.

Ja Morant Suffers Sprained Ankle, Considered Week-to-Week

Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (ankle) has had quite the laundry list of injuries over the past few seasons. Unfortunately, there's another to add to the list as Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com reports that Morant suffered a sprained ankle on Sunday at practice. The team spokesperson said that Morant is considered week-to-week, as they'll likely be very cautious with the season right around the corner. When healthy, Morant is a top fantasy asset in most formats, but he's only played a total of 59 games over the last two seasons. Now that Desmond Bane isn't in Memphis anymore, Scottie Pippen Jr., Ty Jerome, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope all could see bumps in value.

Ja Morant To Miss Game 4 On Saturday

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (hip) is not expected to be in the lineup for Game 4 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. Sources have told ESPN that Morant will miss Game 4 due to the left hip injury he suffered in Thursday's Game 3 loss. Following his exit from Thursday's game, Morant was spotted on crutches in the tunnel, and he was unable to practice on Friday. Memphis received excellent minutes from Scotty Pippen Jr. in Thursday's loss, and his role is poised to grow even larger in Saturday's game. Meanwhile, Luke Kennard is anticipated to take Morant's spot in the starting lineup. The three-point specialist averaged 12.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.2 steals while starting during the regular season.
