Jamal Shead Fantasy Stats

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, guard Jamal Shead has agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract extension wth the Toronto Raptors on Thursday. The Raptors will retain their backup point guard through the 2029-30 campaign. The 24-year-old averaged 6.6 points, 5.4 assists, and 1.7 rebounds over 22.6 minutes per contest in 82 games last season. Shead's fantasy value will likely remain low in 2026-27, with Immanuel Quickley ingrained as the starter.

The Toronto Raptors have exercised their $2.30 million team option on point guard Jamal Shead for 2026-27, HoopsHype's Michael Scotto reports. It was a straightforward call on a backup point guard who appeared in all 82 games last season. Shead averaged 6.6 points, 5.4 assists, and 1.7 rebounds in 22.8 minutes, with an impact that ran deeper than the scoring line. He led the NBA in assists off the bench and finished second in offensive fouls drawn. With Immanuel Quickley entrenched as the starter, Shead's standalone fantasy value stays low, but it spikes whenever Quickley misses time. That played out in the postseason, when Shead made four starts and logged 32.0 minutes a night in Quickley's absence. The cheap option also keeps a defensive-minded mentor in place for rookie Jaden Bradley.

Toronto Raptors point guard Jamal Shead will start Game 6 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. He will take Brandon Ingram's (heel) place. Shead played well when Ingram exited Game 5 early and isn't a stranger to the first unit. During the regular season, he logged 12 starts, averaging 11.5 points, 7.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. The Raptors would love to get similar numbers from Shead on Friday night to boost their chances in the elimination game.

Toronto Raptors point guard Jamal Shead will move into the starting unit on Monday against the Utah Jazz, with Immanuel Quickley (foot) sidelined. The 27-year-old has made seven starts this season, averaging 12.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 1.1 steals. Shead definitely has the potential to reach the same numbers again on Monday night against the Jazz, who have been helpless against point guards all season -- no team has allowed more fantasy points to the position than them.

Toronto Raptors guard Jamal Shead (quadriceps) is available for Tuesday's game versus the Knicks. He was listed on the injury report because of a quad contusion. However, the 23-year-old is available. Not only that, he will start in place of Immanuel Quickley (illness), who won't suit up for this one. Shead has averaged 5.8 points, 5.1 assists, and 1.2 steals this season. With RJ Barrett (knee) also sidelined, he has an excellent chance of being much more productive, giving him streaming value for fantasy managers. Shead will also be a popular DFS option for those capable of making a late swap.

Toronto Raptors point guard Jamal Shead (quadriceps) is considered questionable for a meeting with the New York Knicks in the NBA Cup on Tuesday. He could miss his first game of the season due to a right quadriceps contusion. With RJ Barrett (knee) on the shelf, Shead has regularly logged 20-plus minutes on the floor. In Sunday's loss to the Boston Celtics, Shead even started the second half after Ja'Kobe Walter struggled. If Shead exits the lineup, players like Walter and Ochai Agbaji will have an opportunity to take on a larger workload. However, neither player has offered consistent fantasy production in 2025-26.

Toronto Raptors point guard Jamal Shead (illness) will sit out Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Even if he had been healthy enough to play, Shead likely would have only played a minor role in the rotation as the Raptors welcome Immanuel Quickley (hip) back into the lineup against the Bulls. Davion Mitchell will move to the bench and take over Shead's minutes as the backup point guard.

According to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca, Toronto Raptors point guard Jamal Shead (illness) is questionable for Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls due to an illness. Shead could be out of action for the first time since December 26th. In his last outing on Wednesday versus the Wizards, he collected 10 points, two rebounds, four assists and one steal in 21 minutes of work. Immanuel Quickley (hip) is also questionable, potentially leaving Davion Mitchell as the only true point guard for the Raptors on Friday.
