Sacramento Kings center Alex Len (illness) and forward Josh Jackson (illness) will both be active for Wednesday night's game against the Houston Rockets. This update comes as a surprise as both players had been previously ruled out for the game due to non-COVID illnesses. Neither player has been seeing much of the court lately. Len has rebounding and block potential, but would need to surpass Neemias Queta and Chimezie Metu on the depth chart in order to warrant some fantasy appeal.
Detroit Pistons guard Josh Jackson and forward Trey Lyles have been traded to the Sacramento Kings. This is a four-team trade that also sends forward Marvin Bagley III to Detroit. Lyles could have a role without Bagley on the roster. However, Chimezie Metu has been playing well and looks like a better fantasy option right now. Jackson will have to compete with newcomers Donte DiVincenzo, Jeremy Lamband Justin Holiday for playing time. At best, Jackson and Lyles are watch-list candidates in deeper leagues.
Cade Cunningham, Josh Jackson Will Miss Friday’s Game
Detroit Pistons shooting guards Cade Cunningham (hip) and Josh Jackson (back) have been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Celtics. Cunningham is battling a hip pointer that has sidelined him for two straight outings, while Jackson is missing his fourth straight due to back spasms. While Rodney McGruder stepped into the starting five in place of Cunningham on Thursday, Frank Jackson led the team in scoring with a 25-point effort off the bench; both players stand out as DFS options while Cunningham and Jackson remain down. Their next opportunity to suit up comes Sunday vs. Minnesota.
Cade Cunningham, Josh Jackson Questionable For Thursday
Detroit Pistons shooting guards Cade Cunningham (hip) and Josh Jackson (back) have been tagged as questionable to take the floor for Thursday's contest vs. Minnesota. Cunningham was somewhat of a surprise addition to Tuesday's lineup, although he was limited to just 21 minutes as he works through a hip pointer. Jackson, an integral member of the team's second unit, has been sidelined for the past two games, allowing Cory Joseph, Frank Jackson, and Killian Hayes to all see larger minutes and offensive roles. Cunningham has proven to be as volatile of a DFS option as they come during his rookie year, as fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status prior to tip-off due to the Timberwolves playing at the league's sixth-fastest pace.
Detroit Pistons forward Josh Jackson (back) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was able to play 16 minutes on Friday, but continues to deal with back tightness. There's a good chance he sits this one out, so he can try and recover from this issue. Frank Jackson and Rodney McGruder should be asked to play more with Jackson likely sitting out. Jackson is the better fantasy option between the two, but remains a low-end streaming option.
Josh Jackson, Frank Jackson Questionable To Play Tuesday
Detroit Pistons shooting guards Josh Jackson (tooth) and Frank Jackson (ankle) have earned questionable designations for Tuesday's contest against the Timberwolves. Josh Jackson has missed each of the team's four previous games after undergoing oral surgery, while Frank Jackson has been the largest beneficiary of Josh's absence. With Hamidou Diallo (health protocols) and Wayne Ellington (calves) still expected to be unavailable, absences from both Jacksons would leave Detroit massively short-handed, especially considering that Jerami Grant (knee), Mason Plumlee (rest) and Cory Joseph (ankle) have all been ruled out already. Check back prior to tip-off Tuesday to get the final word on the status of both Josh and Frank Jackson.
Detroit Pistons shooting guard Josh Jackson (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's contest against Atlanta due an illness. Jackson has been shifted back to the starting lineup for each of his last 15 appearances, averaging 15.9 PPG in that span. Without him in the mix, eye Wayne Ellington and Frank Jackson as potential punt play options in DFS contests, although Jerami Grant and Saddiq Bey should gain some increased intrigue from elevated shot opportunities. In the midst of a breakout campaign with the rebuilding Pistons, Jackson's next chance to return to the floor comes Thursday versus the Mavericks.
Detroit Pistons forward Josh Jackson (illness) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. It sounds like Jackson is dealing with a non-COVID related illness, so this might be a game-time decision. However, the Pistons are tanking, so fantasy managers should consider Jackson more doubtful than questionable. He has been playing well for the tanking Pistons. Hamidou Diallo and Frank Jackson would be asked to pick up the slack. Jackson has put together some nice outings and is worth a look as a DFS option without Jackson available.
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Josh Jackson led all scorers with 29 points in Thursday's 106-91 loss to San Antonio, shooting 11-for-20 from the field and 5-for-9 at the foul line. A large chunk of his misses came from behind the arc as he finished 2-for-7 with the three-ball. Jackson completed his line with four rebounds, two assists, one block and two turnovers. Detroit is rolling with what looks like a G League squad at times and Jackson clearly stands out from the bunch. He's having a nice month with 43 percent shooting from deep, which has helped him average 17.4 points per game with four rebounds and a pair of assists. He'll head back on the court Saturday night versus Indiana. Jackson has averaged a 15-5-4 line against the Pacers this season with 52 percent shooting.
Josh Jackson Scores Team-High 26 Points In Sunday's Loss
Detroit Pistons shooting guard Josh Jackson paced the team with 26 points in Sunday's loss to the Clippers, shooting 10-for-18 from the field with a 2-for-6 effort from downtown. He led the Pistons with two blocks as well, adding four rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes as a starter. It's been a rollercoaster ride for Jackson throughout the campaign, but the 24-year-old currently seems to be on a high again with back-to-back 20-point nights. He'll go for a third such game in Wednesday's rematch with the Clippers, although it must be noted that Detroit's rotation is very unpredictable and Jackson could easily be back on the bench at any moment with fewer than 20 minutes of playing time.
