Tim Hardaway Jr. News
Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (foot) and forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (back) participated in practice on Monday. Though role players Grant Williams (knee), Josh Green (elbow), and Maxi Kleber (toe) were all out of Monday's session, Dallas would seem to have a good opportunity to get Irving and Hardaway back from their respective injuries. Irving couldn't suit up for Saturday's game versus the Oklahoma City Thunder with right foot soreness, but his presence at practice would suggest he's on the right side of questionable for Wednesday's tilt vs. the Utah Jazz. Back spasms have kept Hardaway out of the Mavs' latest two contests, on the other hand, but he'll hope to rejoin head coach Jason Kidd's lineup alongside Irving against the Jazz. It remains to be seen if the two offensive-minded contributors are able to continue practicing ahead of Wednesday's action, but we'll keep a close eye on their statuses up until then.
Dallas Mavericks guards Josh Green (elbow) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (back) have both been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Star guard Kyrie Irving (foot) will join them on the sideline for this game. The absence of these three will leave the Mavs extremely shorthanded for this game. Luka Doncic will be asked to carry the load on offense. Fantasy managers should expect Seth Curry and Jaden Hardy to have expanded roles, which should give them some streaming appeal.
Dallas Mavericks forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (back) is questionable for Friday's game versus the Memphis Grizzlies due to back spasms. Hardaway's play on the court has long been streaky, but his availability has been consistent for the Mavs this year, participating in all 17 of their games. Hardaway is slumping of late, averaging 10.0 points on a dismal 30.6% shooting clip overall with 2.8 threes on just 28.0% shooting from beyond the arc over his last three nights. The 31-year-old sixth man is never completely safe to jettison to fantasy waiver wires, as he can heat up in a moment's notice, but we wouldn't fault you for finding more stable options while Dallas is mostly healthy. Keep the struggling Hardaway on watchlists if considering dropping him in shallow leagues, while Josh Green and Derrick Jones Jr. are some names to help fill THJ's shoes if he's out on Friday.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Pacers aren't interested in acquiring guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. Buddy Hield is expected to be moved sometime soon, with Dallas recently emerging as a potential destination. However, despite the fact that the salaries between both players are similar, making a swap easier, Indiana may not be fond of Hardaway's additional contract year. The 31-year-old has bounced around the league throughout his career, making stops in New York, Atlanta, and Dallas. He's appeared in 657 regular-season games, averaging 14.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 36.1% shooting from deep. Hardaway was rumored to be on the move last season, although it never happened. But with the Mavs seemingly not done reshaping the roster, the sharpshooter's days in Dallas might be coming to an end.
