Bradley Roby Is Week-To-Week With A Shoulder Injury

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Bradley Roby (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury in Week 6 against the New York Jets and is considered week-to-week, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The veteran CB is not expected to go on IR, per Schultz, but he could miss a game or two. After suffering some injuries to the secondary, Philadelphia signed Roby earlier in October to help shore things up. However, with the 31-year-old veteran now suffering from an injury of his own so the Eagles have signed CB Josiah Scott to help bolster their backend. The timing is less than auspicious for the Eagles as they're set to face the prolific Miami Dolphins passing attack on Sunday Night Football in Week 7.

Bradley Roby Signs With The Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed veteran cornerback Bradley Roby, according to James Palmer of NFL Network. The 31-year-old corner will help bolster an Eagles' secondary that has been susceptible to the pass over the first four weeks of the season. Palmer noted that Roby has played a significant amount of his career defending the slot, which is a specific area of need for the Eagles. The nine-year veteran has 370 tackles, 85 passes defended, and 11 career interceptions over his stints with the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, and New Orleans Saints. The Saints waived him back in August during their roster cutdown.

Bradley Roby Visiting With 49ers

Veteran free-agent defensive back Bradley Roby is visiting with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, according to the league wire. Roby became a free agent when he didn't make the New Orleans Saints active 53-man roster out of training camp to begin the regular season. The 31-year-old could be a nice veteran addition for a 49ers secondary while providing flexibility out wide or in the slot. The former first-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2014 out of Ohio State had 36 tackles (29 solo), five passes defensed and two fumble recoveries in 13 games (10 starts) for the Saints in 2022. San Francisco is dealing to a few injuries with their current cornerbacks, so visiting with Roby makes sense.

Saints Release Bradley Roby

The New Orleans Saints released cornerback Bradley Roby on roster cutdown day on Tuesday. Roby apparently lost out to Alontae Taylor in the competition for the slot role in New Orleans' secondary and will now be looking for work elsewhere with the 2023 regular season starting next Thursday night. In his last two seasons with the Saints, Roby had 48 solo tackles, a sack, four tackles for loss, an interception, 10 passes defensed and two fumble recoveries in 27 games (11 starts). The 31-year-old was originally the 31st overall pick of the 2014 draft by the Denver Broncos out of Ohio State, and he spent the first five years of his NFL career with the Broncos before spending two years apiece with the Houston Texans and Saints.

Saints Place Bradley Roby on Injured Reserve

New Orleans Saints cornerback Bradley Roby (foot) has been placed on the injured reserve list, meaning he will miss at least the next four games. The 30-year-old was one of their starting cornerbacks, ranking 95th at the position, according to Pro Football Focus. New Orleans is coming off a 42-34 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday and faces Las Vegas next on Sunday. The Saints' defense ranks 20th in defensive pass DVOA, according to Fantasy Outsiders, so the loss of Roby only adds to their problems. The team will hope to get him back later in the season to assist in making a playoff run.

Saints Put Bradley Roby On Injured Reserve

The New Orleans Saints placed cornerback Bradley Roby (ankle) on Injured Reserve and re-signed wide receiver Keith Kirkwood in a corresponding move. Roby was injured in last Thursday night's loss to the Arizona Cardinals and will now be required to miss at least the next four games. The Saints are extremely beat up in the secondary, with P.J. Williams (quadriceps) also on IR and Marshon Lattimore (abdomen) and Paulson Adebo (knee) also injured. If neither Lattimore nor Adebo are able to play in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans' secondary could be in quite a bit of trouble against All-Pro receiver Davante Adams and Company. Roby currently has 20 tackles (16 solo), two passes defensed and a fumble recovery in seven games in 2022.

Bradley Roby Carted Off On Thursday Night

New Orleans Saints cornerback Bradley Roby (foot) was carted to the locker room in the first quarter of Thursday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals with what looked to be a foot injury after he stepped on receiver Rondale Moore's foot awkwardly. There's a good chance that Roby won't be able to return to this contest, and it's more bad news for the Saints' secondary with top corners Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo already out due to injury. It's good news for Cardinals receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Moore for the rest of this game, as well as quarterback Kyler Murray, as the Cardinals offense looks to finally get going this year.

Saints, Bradley Roby Agree To Extension

The New Orleans Saints and cornerback Bradley Roby agreed to an undisclosed contract extension on Tuesday night, according to a source. The extension will primarily give the Saints extra salary cap space in 2022. New Orleans also restructured defensive end Marcus Davenport's contract on Tuesday to create an additional $6.8144 million in cap space, so the Saints could be getting ready for a blockbuster acquisition of Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. The Saints acquired Roby in a trade with the Texans before last season, and he finished 2021 with 23 tackles (19 solo), three tackles for loss, three QB hits, one interception, five passes defensed and one sack in 14 games (one start).

Bradley Roby Being Traded To The Saints

The New Orleans Saints are acquiring cornerback Bradley Roby from the Houston Texans on Wednesday, according to sources. Roby is suspended for Week 1 as he completes his six-game suspension from last season for a banned substance, but he should help the Saints immediately at a position of need when he returns for Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers. The Saints were aggressively looking for cornerback help opposite Marshon Lattimore. In 10 games before his suspension with the Texans last season, Roby had 37 tackles, seven passes defensed and one interception. The Saints defense probably went undrafted in the majority of fantasy leagues, and they shouldn't be on anyone's weekly radar to kick off the season in their matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Bradley Roby Suspended Six Games

Houston Texans cornerback Bradley Roby will miss the rest of the 2020 season after he was suspended for six games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Roby's teammate, wide receiver Will Fuller V, was hit with the same suspension on Monday and will also miss the rest of this year. Houston's secondary was already vulnerable with the 28-year-old Roby in the fold, so this will make them even more of a target for those looking to stream opposing receivers down the stretch. The Texans Defense has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game to wideouts, which is good news for quarterback Philip Rivers and the Colts in Week 13. Roby finishes 2020 with 37 tackles (33 solo), one interception, seven passes defensed and one fumble recovery in 10 games.
