Patriots
New England Patriots running back JaMycal Hasty lost two yards on two carries during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. On a more positive note, he caught all five of his targets for 49 yards and one touchdown through the air. Hasty was one of the Patriots' most productive pass-catchers on Sunday, and he also led the backfield in total yards. Equally important was the snap distribution among the backfield, with Rhamondre Stevenson playing 30 snaps, JaMycal Hasty getting 20, and Antonio Gibson finishing with just 10. For the first time this season, Hasty out-snapped Gibson, and it's possible this trend continues after the former's productive outing on Sunday. With that said, Hasty isn't on the fantasy radar quite yet.

JaMycal Hasty Active, Kayshon Boutte A Healthy Scratch
New England Patriots running back JaMycal Hasty (knee) is officially active on Sunday for the Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks, while wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is a healthy inactive. Hasty popped up on the team's injury report on Thursday after putting in a limited practice, but his knee injury wasn't serious enough to sideline him this weekend. The 28-year-old is well off the fantasy radar in the vast majority of fantasy leagues as the No. 3 RB behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson in one of the weaker offenses in the NFL. In the surprising Week 1 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Hasty had didn't touch the ball at all on offense. Boutte didn't play a single offensive snap last weekend and will now take a seat so that rookie Javon Baker can make his NFL debut after he was a healthy scratch in Week 1.

JaMycal Hasty Gets Questionable Tag
New England Patriots running back JaMycal Hasty (knee) has officially been labeled as questionable ahead of the team's Week 2 matchup. The Pats will square off against the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday in their home opener, coming off a surprising 16-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The 28-year-old popped up on the injury report this past Thursday and logged back-to-back limited sessions leading up to the weekend. Hasty did not receive a touch out of the backfield during Week 1 but was the only Patriot to return a kick in the win. If he were unable to play, rookie wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk would be set to get work on returns alongside backup running back Antonio Gibson. Additionally, New England could decide to sign or elevate another running back to the roster as insurance on game day, with just Gibson and Rhamondre Stevenson the only active players at the position.

JaMycal Hasty Productive In Preseason Finale
New England Patriots running back JaMycal Hasty rushed four times for 21 yards during Sunday's preseason finale against the Washington Commanders. He also caught all three of his targets for an additional 24 yards through the air. Hasty is expected to make the Patriots' roster and could carve out a receiving role alongside fellow pass-catching back Antonio Gibson. This backfield still belongs to Rhamondre Stevenson, but Hasty and Gibson will earn some opportunities, especially after the latest chatter that New England wants to get its running backs heavily involved on screen plays. With that said, Hasty is a depth option within a weak offense. He can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

JaMycal Hasty Pushing For RB3 Role
New England Patriots running back JaMycal Hasty is pushing for the team's RB3 role leading up to the regular season. Hasty is buried behind Rhamondre Stevenson, Antonio Gibson, and Kevin Harris on the depth chart, but his skill set could lend well to New England's revamped offense. According to Hasty in an interview with reporters on Friday, Alex Van Pelt wants to be the best screen team in the NFL. He was also quoted as saying that AVP likes to "mix it up" and that he and the other RBs "run routes like the receivers do." It's an encouraging development that hopefully foreshadows a good amount of passing-game activity for the Patriot's running backs in 2024. The exact way touches will shake out here remains to be seen, but Stevenson will likely handle most of the work, with Gibson mixing in as a change of pace. The mystery is compounded further by the fact that we've yet to see what this offense is about. Hasty is Yahoo!'s RB118 and presents as little more than a late-round deep-league dart throw until this situation changes.

Jaguars Sign JaMycal Hasty To Extension
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed running back JaMycal Hasty to an undisclosed contract extension on Sunday. Hasty was set to become a restricted free agent in March at the start of the new league year. He was acquired just before the 2022 season and finished last year with 194 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 46 carries while catching 20 passes for 126 yards and one more score in the regular season in 17 games. The 26-year-old's role increased when the Jags traded James Robinson to the New York Jets on Oct. 25, and he served as Travis Etienne Jr.'s primary backup the rest of the way. Hasty will face competition from Snoop Conner for the backup role behind Etienne in 2023.

JaMycal Hasty Could Be Involved In Week 13
Jacksonville Jaguars running back JaMycal Hasty was impressive in taking over for the injured Travis Etienne Jr. (foot) in Week 12, rushing 12 times for 28 yards and adding five receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown. Etienne went down during the first half, and while the Jaguars claimed he was cleared to return to action, they chose to play it safe with their young star and held him out of the rest of the contest. Of course, it wouldn't come as a huge shock if the Jaguars held Etienne out for a Week 13 matchup against the Detroit Lions after he missed all of the 2021 season with a Lisfranc injury to that same foot. The Jaguars are also likely to get Darrell Henderson Jr. more involved this coming weekend. Treat Hasty as a flex play if Etienne doesn't end up playing against Detroit in Week 13.

JaMycal Hasty Leads Jaguars Backfield In Week 12
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. (foot) injured his foot in the Week 12 win over the Baltimore Ravens and didn't return early in the contest after just two carries for three yards. JaMycal Hasty entered to lead the backfield with 12 carries for just 28 yards and he caught all five of his targets for 67 yards and a touchdown through the air. The 26-year-old wasn't very effective on the ground, but he made up for it with his work in the passing game. Etienne's injury doesn't appear to be very serious, so Hasty won't have any standalone starting fantasy value in Week 13 against the Detroit Lions if Etienne is active. Hasty could be worth a waiver-wire pickup as insurance in deeper leagues if you have Etienne rostered.

JaMycal Hasty's Carries Will Go Up
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that running back JaMycal Hasty's carries will go up after the team traded James Robinson to the New York Jets this week. Pederson said the team wants to make sure that Travis Etienne Jr. plays more going forward as the primary back, but they also want to get him through the season healthy, which is where Hasty comes into play. The 26-year-old has just five carries on the season for 69 yards and a touchdown, adding two receptions for 22 yards. Hasty is unlikely to have any standalone fantasy appeal unless Etienne misses time with injury, but he's a solid handcuff pickup if you already have Etienne rostered.

Jaguars Claim JaMycal Hasty Off Waivers From 49ers
The Jacksonville Jaguars claimed former San Francisco 49ers running back JaMycal Hasty off waivers on Wednesday. They also claimed defensive back Tyree Gillespie, kicker Riley Patterson, wide receiver Kendric Pryor and linebacker Ty Summers off waivers. As the 49ers primary third-down back last year, Hasty caught 23 of his 29 targets for 157 yards and no touchdowns in 11 games in his second NFL season. He also had 16 carries for 68 yards and one touchdown. In Jacksonville, the 25-year-old will compete for a backup role with Snoop Conner behind Travis Etienne Jr. and James Robinson. Hasty would probably only have fantasy appeal in PPR leagues if Etienne were to miss time with an injury.
