JaMycal Hasty Lands On Injured Reserve With Broken Collarbone

San Francisco 49ers rookie running back JaMycal Hasty (collarbone) was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, ruling him out for at least the next three games. Fortunately for the 49ers, their hope is to have both Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Tevin Coleman (knee) back for the Week 12 matchup against the Rams, which would have severely hampered Hasty's outlook regardless. In addition to being utilized on special teams, Hasty had carved out a small niche as a rusher over the past five games as the team struggled with depth out of the backfield with both Mostert and Coleman sidelined. The combination of his injury and the return of those ahead of him on the depth chart means that Hasty can be returned to the waiver wire in all single-year formats for the time being.

JaMycal Hasty Quiet In Week 10 Loss

San Francisco 49ers rookie running back JaMycal Hasty had a quiet game in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints. He rushed the ball three times for 13 yards and caught both of his targets for negative four yards. Jerrick McKinnon was the team's primary rusher in this game, but he struggled significantly, gaining just 33 yards on 18 carries. Hasty is the team's clear No. 2 back for now, but the team is going into their bye week and could have a much more crowded backfield the next time they have a contest. Raheem Mostert (ankle), Tevin Coleman (knee) and Jeff Wilson Jr. (ankle) are all looming and all of them would receive precedence over Hasty if they are active. Hasty is safe to drop in all leagues.

JaMycal Hasty A Deep League Flex Option In Week 10

San Francisco 49ers running back JaMycal Hasty saw his workload diminish significantly in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers. He had a season-high 12 carries in Week 8, but then saw just four carries the following week. This week, Hasty and Jerick McKinnon figure to be the team's top two running backs against the New Orleans Saints with both Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Tevin Coleman (knee) unlikely to play. The Saints rank second in the NFL in rush defense, allowing just 80.3 rushing yards per game. Even if Hasty ends up seeing around 10 carries, he might struggle to do anything with them. He's a potential flex option in deep leagues, but the risk factor is high.
