Cowboys Agree With Jeremy Sprinkle

The Dallas Cowboys signed free-agent tight end Jeremy Sprinkle and veteran punter Bryan Anger to undisclosed one-year deals on Wednesday. Sprinkle, 26, spent his first four seasons with Washington and has 34 receptions for 301 yards and three touchdowns in his career. He will be added to a tight end group that includes Blake Jarwin, Dalton Schultz and Sean McKeon. Sprinkle can be ignored in the vast majority of fantasy leagues entering the 2021 season. Anger, 32, averaged 46.4 yards per punt with a 41.8-yard net average in 2020 with the Houston Texans. He has averaged 46.2 yards per punt with a 42.1-yard net average in his career. Anger should compete with Hunter Niswander, who finished as Dallas' punter last season.

Jeremy Sprinkle Happens To Catch Touchdown In Week 11

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle was once again mostly a non-factor in Sunday's loss to the Jets, catching two passes for 16 yards on three targets. Unlike the rest of his stat lines this season, which all look a lot like this one, he scored a touchdown in Week 11. The game was all over but the shouting by the time Sprinkle hauled in his one-yard score, as his visit to the endzone narrowed the Redskins' deficit to 17 points with just over a minute left to go in the fourth quarter. Even in an offense nearly devoid of reliable pass-catching options outside of Terry McLaurin, the Redskins have clearly not placed an emphasis on getting the ball to Sprinkle at tight end. He hasn't been targeted more than three times in a game since Week 3. Touchdown or no touchdown, he can continue to be overlooked in fantasy leagues.

Jeremy Sprinkle Facing Rough Matchup At Home

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle has never capitalized on the starting role despite holding it for most of the 2019 season. With that in mind, it matters little whether Vernon Davis (concussion) makes a surprising late-week turnaround or not. Sprinkle has not caught more than two passes nor eclipsed 25 yards receiving in any game this year. With rookie Dwayne Haskins taking over as the starting quarterback, there isn't any reason to believe Sprinkle will suddenly become a stable fantasy option. The Jets are holding tight ends to just under four catches per game.

Jeremy Sprinkle Can Be Ignored For Week 9

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle has caught eight total passes in the four games Vernon Davis has missed, and he could actually be in line to put up a worse line this week with Dwayne Haskins likely suiting up at QB. Sprinkle is one of many Washington skill players who cannot be trusted in fantasy lineups with a road bout against the tough Bills Defense on the docket. In the event Davis gets the last-minute green light to play this weekend, you can ignore him as well.

Jeremy Sprinkle Goes For 12 Yards Against Minnesota

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle caught both of his targets for 12 yards in Thursday's loss to the Vikings. It is actually becoming impressive just how incompetent this offense is in almost every facet of the game. The idea that any team in the entire league could struggle to even remotely involve multiple players in the passing game the way the Redskins have is something to behold. Sprinkle will continue to go through the motions on game days as long as Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed remain out, but you'd almost be just as well-served to start one of them in your fantasy lineup.

Jeremy Sprinkle Maintains A Low-Floor Fantasy Profile

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle will presumably start for the fourth consecutive week on Thursday night against the Vikings, but that starting role has yet to yield any positive fantasy results. Vernon Davis has missed Washington's last three games, a time frame in which Sprinkle has caught a total of six passes for 54 yards. Even a visit to the endzone can't necessarily save him from a usage rate that low. The Vikings are allowing double-digit PPR production on average to tight ends, but the last thing you want to do is needlessly roll the dice on a risky Thursday night player and have it go up in flames. Whether Davis (who is currently listed as doubtful) unexpectedly suits up or not, there are safer and more proven options at tight end than Sprinkle for Week 8.

Jeremy Sprinkle Once Again A Non-Factor

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle caught two passes in a 9-0 loss that has to be the leader in the clubhouse for least entertaining game of the 2019 NFL season. Sprinkle had nothing working in his favor heading into the matchup against a tough 49ers Defense, but the weather both teams had to put up with sealed the deal in terms of the tight end's futility in the passing game. Sprinkle is as far off the fantasy radar as a starting tight end can be, and his outlook only gets worse if Vernon Davis returns next week.

Jeremy Sprinkle To Start Again On Sunday

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle will be the starter for the third consecutive week with Vernon Davis having once again been ruled out and Jordan Reed's entire career up in the air. The Redskins are the only team, real or otherwise, that he should start for this week. The 49ers are allowing fewer than four catches per game to tight ends, and Sprinkle has caught a total of four in his two weeks as the starter. There isn't much else to say. Sprinkle isn't relevant on his own bad team, so he is thereby a player to ignore in fantasy.

Jeremy Sprinkle Not Thriving As Starter

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle turned in another disappointing day despite standing in for injured Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed. Sprinkle saw just three targets in Sunday's victory, grabbing two of them for 24 yards. At this point, it doesn't appear to matter when or if Davis or Reed come back, because Sprinkle isn't seeing fantasy-relevant volume with or without them. Terry McLaurin is the primary pass-catching option in this offense, and there aren't a ton of targets left over after he sees his share. Sprinkle can be ignored in all formats unless you find yourself in the most desperate of circumstances at TE. And if either of his superiors on the depth chart return for Week 7, then he can just be forgotten about altogether.

Jeremy Sprinkle In Line For Starting TE Work

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle will have his second chance to produce in a starting role with Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis set to miss Week 6. He didn't make much of his first such opportunity last week, though it's worth noting his opponent in that contest was the Patriots. Sprinkle's next opponent is a Dolphins team that presents a more favorable matchup. Miami has allowed 23 receptions on an 82% catch rate to tight ends, giving up an average of 78.5 yards per game to the position. No tight end in the Redskins offense has emerged as a legitimate pass-catching threat, so it's tough to believe Sprinkle will be given the chance to exploit the matchup. He's an option only for the truly desperate at tight end.
