Kerry Johnson Posts 98 Total Yards In Loss

Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson carried the ball 11 times for 46 yards and added four receptions for 52 yards in the Lions Thanksgiving loss to the Texans. This was a very active performance for Johnson with starting running back D'Andre Swift missing the game with a concussion. The goal-line carries were given to Adrian Peterson but Johnson was able to make some plays in the passing game. It has been a dormant offensive season for Johnson and will certainly lose touches the second Swift gets back on the field.

Adrian Peterson To Start, Split Carries With Kerryon Johnson

Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson will get the start on Sunday against the Panthers. This had been a smash spot for rookie halfback D'Andre Swift (head), though a late entry to the league's concussion protocol ultimately had him ruled out for the contest. Kerryon Johnson will also factor into the backfield equation, making this a much less appealing situation for fantasy football. However, Peterson can be used as a flex this week against Carolina's bad run defense. The veteran back had some good fantasy weeks when he's received at least 10 carries this year, which is likely to happen on Sunday.

Kerryon Johnson Finds The End Zone In Week 2

Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson led the Detroit backfield in carries and scored a rushing touchdown in a 42-21 loss to the Packers in Week 2. It should be noted that Detroit had to abandon the run earlier than they would have liked in this one, considering how quickly Green Bay jumped out to a lead. So in reality, leading the backfield in touches sounds much more impressive than it actually was, as Johnson ended up with only eight touches. It wasn't a bad showing, but Johnson's role is just too unpredictable with D'Andre Swift and Adrian Peterson also manning the backfield. He's likely not worth rostering a this point, unless injuries force him into action.
