Ke'Shawn Vaughn News
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers backfield is shaping up to feature Leonard Fournette, Ronald Jones II, and LeSean McCoy for Sunday's Divisional Round showdown with the Saints. Head coach Bruce Arians is set to stick with Fournette as the starter, with Jones planned to be rotated in; that leaves McCoy as the team's third RB option, one that cannot be relied upon for DFS purposes. Ke'Shawn Vaughn has been utilized in bunches this year, including receiving five carries during the Wild Card round, although his lost fumble likely has an impact on his inactive status Sunday. The Bucs' backfield rotation will continue to be a point of focus should the team advance to the NFC Championship Game next Sunday versus the Packers, but for this week, it'll likely be a Fournette/Jones split with a dash of McCoy, if necessary.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ke'Shawn Vaughn rushed the ball three times for four yards and caught two passes for 22 receiving yards and a touchdown. Vaughn saw more work with Leonard Fournette (ankle), LeSean McCoy (ankle) and Kenjon Barner (concussion) all out of the game. It was the Ronald Jones II show and it will continue to be. However, Vaughn could be worth a bench spot in PPR leagues depending on the severity of his fellow backfield mates' injuries.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie running back Ke'Shawn Vaughn may start Week 1 as only a kick returner, head coach Bruce Arians said, per CBS Sports. With the Bucs having multiple running backs including Ronald Jones II and LeSean McCoy, it seems Tampa may ease the rookie into NFL action as he may not be quite ready to take on a workhorse role. The Bucs drafted the RB in the third round of the past draft out of Vanderbilt, where he compiled 1,028 rush yards, nine rush touchdowns, 28 receptions, 270 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown in his final season last year. Vaughn is best considered a flex piece to start the season considering his role is not that large and hasn't been fully carved out yet.
