Lirim Hajrullahu News
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher is the only remaining kicker on the team's roster after it released Lirim Hajrullahu on Tuesday. Maher provides a familiar face to the Dallas kicking game, having appeared in 29 games across the 2018-19 campaigns. The 32-year-old kicked in eight games for the Saints last year, missing just one of 17 kicks from inside 50 yards. Hajrullahu kicked in one contest for Dallas last season, knocking through all five extra points he attempted. Maher isn't regarded as a stout fantasy choice, but his placement in the Cowboys' offense could vault him toward rostership on weeks where a favorable matchup is presented.
The Dallas Cowboys signed free-agent kicker Lirim Hajrullahu in order to provide some competition in training camp for undrafted rookie Jonathan Garibay. Hajrullahu kicked in three games for the Carolina Panthers and one game for the Cowboys last year, making four of his five total field-goal tries and all eight of his extra points. The 32-year-old only has those four games of NFL experience from last year, so either way the Cowboys go, they'll be relying on an inexperienced kicker, at least to open the 2022 season. Fantasy managers will want to stay away from this situation.
Carolina Panthers kicker Lirim Hajrullahu shouldn't be in your starting lineup in Week 17. The kicker just played his first game for the Panthers last week and knocked down both of his field-goal attempts. It's hard to tell his consistency and reliability at this point given his small sample size. It's best to go with a more proven kicker.
