Mike Boone Explodes In Week 17

Minnesota Vikings running back Mike Boone carried 17 times for 148 yards and a touchdown in Week 17's narrow loss to the Chicago Bears. He added two catches for 12 yards. Boone got another start and certainly made the most of his opportunity after falling flat and getting benched in Week 16. Boone was also responsible for a fumble and an interception in the game, but fantasy managers with Week 17 championship's have to happy with the output. Boone will be relegated to backup duties with Dalvin Cook (shoulder) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) expected to be back for the Wild Card round next week.

Mike Boone Is Not An Attractive Option

Minnesota Vikings running back Mike Boone will get a chance at redemption in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears, but he is difficult to trust after a brutal showing in Week 16. Alexander Mattison (ankle) is questionable and has a chance to play, but he would likely see limited action coming off an injury absence. Ameer Abdullah and fullback C.J. Ham mixed in for 12 touches last week, and they'll be a threat to vulture touches away from Boone again this week. The Bears Defense ranks 10th in rush DVOA this season but has been more forgiving to starting running backs in their last four games. Boone is best viewed as a risky RB4 and he's not a back to deploy in daily formats unless it's a large-field GPP tournament.

Mike Boone Disappoints In Spot Start

Minnesota Vikings running back Mike Boone carried 11 times for 28 yards in Week 16's 23-10 defeat against the Green Bay Packers. He added one catch for five yards. Boone, drawing the start with Dalvin Cook (shoulder) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) out, failed to deliver and was phased out of the offense entirely in the second half with the Vikings playing from behind. This was a case of a golden opportunity being completely squandered as Boone wasn't able to do anything with his 12 touches against a defense that has been favorable for running backs this season. Cook and Mattison both remain question mark's for Week 17, so Boone could be in line for another start. He would again be in the RB2 mix if both were to miss another contest.
