Evan Rodrigues Looks To Join Exclusive Group With Another Goal

Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues leads all players with four goals in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, and another prolific outing in Monday's Game 7 would put him on a very exclusive list. Only five undrafted players have scored five-plus goals in the Final during the draft era (since 1963-64). Andy McDonald did it last in 2007 with Anaheim, while Wayne Gretzky holds the all-time record with seven goals in the 1985 Final. Rodrigues sat on only three postseason goals for the year before the Final started. He has totaled 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 23 playoff outings this year.

Evan Rodrigues Promoted To First Line Thursday

Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues will join the first line for Thursday's Game 3 against the Oilers. Florida has started the 2024 Stanley Cup Final with two convincing wins, but there's a small tweak in the lineup for Game 3, as Carter Verhaeghe drops down to the second line to switch places with Rodrigues. The 30-year-old has earned himself a promotion following an outstanding start in the series. With two games played, Rodrigues has bagged three goals with three attempts on the net.

Evan Rodrigues Posts Two Assists In Game 4 Win

Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues had a second consecutive multi-point outing in Sunday's 3-2 win over Boston. After scoring twice in Game 3, Rodrigues turned into a playmaker in Game 4, logging assists as Anton Lundell and Sam Bennett scored. Before sparking into life, Rodrigues was slumping and boasted only two points for this postseason. He's now on three goals and three assists with nine games played in the playoffs.

Evan Rodrigues Back From Two-Game Absence Saturday

Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues (lower body) will return from a two-game absence on Saturday against Tampa Bay. He's set for third-line duty with Eetu Luostarinen and Anton Lundell. Rodrigues adds a nice bit of creativity to the lineup, as he's fourth on the team with 26 assists. The 30-year-old has also registered 10 goals in 65 games. Florida is looking to beat the Lightning for a third consecutive time this season, with Rodrigues having picked up an assist in each of the first two meetings.

Evan Rodrigues Out Tuesday, Kyle Okposo Set To Debut

Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues (lower body) is out for Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars and is considered day-to-day. Rodrigues suffered a lower-body injury after blocking a shot on Saturday and isn't healthy enough to play Tuesday. His absence will make room for Kyle Okposo to make his debut with the team after being acquired from Buffalo last week. Okposo has 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists) in 61 games played and is more of a depth option at this point. His fantasy value is very limited and he does not need to be considered as a streamer.

Evan Rodrigues Exits With Lower-Body Injury

Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues was unable to complete Saturday's game against Calgary due to a lower-body injury. He exited the contest after logging 9:05 of action across 10 shifts. The 30-year-old finished with four shots on goal and one block. Rodrigues is set to undergo further evaluations on Sunday, and he will need to shake off the injury by Tuesday if he doesn't want to miss his first game of the season. Rodrigues is a versatile forward who can be used throughout the lineup, and he's collected 36 points (10 goals, 26 assists) in 65 games with the Panthers in 2023-24. The veteran has been a member of the third line in the most recent games while logging time with the second power-play unit.

Evan Rodrigues Leaves Thursday's Game Early

Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues (lower body) was unable to finish Thursday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights after blocking a shot in the first period. Rodrigues did come back, but only played three shifts before leaving the game for good. The 30-year-old has been an integral part of the Panthers' lineup, playing alongside Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart for most of the season while seeing powerplay time. If he misses time, Eetu Luostarinen appears to be the best option to join the top six. He would gain some streamer appeal in that scenario.

Evan Rodrigues Matches Career High With Four Points

Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues starred against Dallas on Wednesday, matching his career high in scoring with four points in a 5-4 win. He produced a pair of goals and had two assists, with half of his points coming in the third period when the game was tied at three. Rodrigues has produced some special stuff as of late, compiling three goals and four assists during a three-game point streak. It's boosted his scoring number for the year to 20, as the 30-year-old has notched six goals and 14 assists in 25 outings. Rodrigues skates on Florida's first line, which puts him in a great position to make an impact offensively.

Evan Rodrigues Fine For Thursday

Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues (undisclosed) will be in the lineup Thursday against Detroit. He missed Wednesday's practice session as he is dealing with a "minor issue," but the ailment won't keep Rodrigues out of game action. It's great news for the Panthers, who have just lost Sam Bennett (lower body) again. Rodrigues is off to a great start in Florida, averaging a point per game through eight outings with two goals and six assists. He's been ever-present on the top line and also skates with the first power-play unit.

Evan Rodrigues Available On Saturday

Colorado Avalanche forward Evan Rodrigues (face) will be in the lineup Saturday versus Florida. His status for the game was initially in doubt after he left Thursday's battle against Tampa Bay early. He wasn't able to continue after taking a puck to the face. Rodrigues should resume his normal duties on the second line. The 29-year-old has recorded 11 goals and 15 assists in 39 appearances this season with 120 shots on goal.

Evan Rodrigues Exits After Taking A Puck To The Face

Colorado Avalanche forward Evan Rodrigues was forced to make an early exit in Thursday's matchup against Tampa Bay after he was hit in the face by a shot from Victor Hedman. The incident occurred in the third period and Rodrigues finished with 13:12 of ice time. Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar failed to deliver an update on Rodrigues after the game, which puts his status for Saturday's clash versus Florida in doubt. Rodrigues has had bad luck with injuries throughout his debut campaign in Colorado and skated in only his 39th game of the season Thursday. He has posted 11 goals and 26 points. Recent addition Matt Nieto is a strong candidate to replace Rodrigues on the line Saturday if he needs some time off.

Evan Rodrigues Nursing An Upper-Body Injury

Colorado Avalanche forward Evan Rodrigues was held out of Monday's matchup against Vegas with an upper-body problem. He is considered day-to-day after an old ailment flared up in Saturday's game against Toronto. Rodrigues exited the lineup with a four-game point streak. He has managed 16 points overall in 26 games as a member of the second line this season. Alex Newhook, J.T Compher and Denis Malgin made up the trio on the line Monday. Rodrigues will get the first opportunity to regain his spot on Thursday versus Vancouver.

Evan Rodrigues Returns For Colorado Thursday

Colorado Avalanche forward Evan Rodrigues (lower body) is game-ready again and will end a nine-game absence Thursday versus Buffalo. The 29-year-old will provide much-needed help to a forwards group that has been ravaged by injuries. Rodrigues has been the team's second-line center all season but could find himself in an even bigger role, with Colorado having a number of absentees in attack. The former Penguins has posted nine points in 18 games during his debut campaign in Denver, scoring four of his six goals on the power play.

Evan Rodrigues Will Miss 2-4 Weeks

Colorado Avalanche forward Evan Rodrigues (lower body) won't be able to play for two to four weeks, head coach Jared Bednar announced on Saturday. He was injured Wednesday against Vancouver. Rodrigues drops out of the lineup with six goals and three assists to his name in 18 games this season. His injury will give Oskar Olausson a chance to join the second line Saturday against Dallas. The team's 2021 first-round pick received his first call-up to the big league this week and he made his debut versus the Canucks. Olausson has managed four goals and nine points in 17 AHL outings this season, and it will be interesting to see how the 20-year-old fits among the Avalanche top six.

Evan Rodrigues Ruled Out For Friday

Colorado Avalanche forward Evan Rodrigues (lower body) has been ruled for Friday's meeting with Nashville. He left Wednesday's defeat to Vancouver early with a lower-body problem. Head coach Jared Bednar has called it a "tweak", so the injury doesn't appear to be too serious, but Rodrigues won't have a timeline for his return and looks set to miss multiple games. The former Penguin has filled Nazem Kadri's skates as the second-line center this season in Colorado, contributing with six goals and three assists in 18 games. J.T. Compher will now likely fill the spot temporarily until Rodrigues feels well enough to return.

Evan Rodrigues Suffers An Injury Wednesday

Colorado Avalanche forward Evan Rodrigues was unable to complete Wednesday's game against Vancouver, leaving with a lower-body injury. He exited already in the first period after having logged only 4:32 of action. Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar announced after the game that Rodrigues will be evaluated Thursday. The 29-year-old has been skating on the second line, and it's been a good season for Rodrigues, with him sitting among the team leaders with six goals and boasting nine points in total through 18 games. J.T. Compher, who had two assists in Wednesday's 4-3 loss, is a candidate to move up in the lineup if Rodrigues is forced to miss time.

Evan Rodrigues Grabs Three First-Period Points

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evan Rodrigues had a very productive start to Game 3 against the Rangers on Saturday, notching three points with two goals and an assist. Two of his point came on the power play. Rodrigues had gone pointless in the first two games of the series. The 28-year-old has had a solid campaign, but he's struggled to make an impact in the playoffs as a fourth-liner. He ended up playing just 9:28 on Saturday and 1:59 of his ice time came with the man advantage.

Bryan Rust, Evan Rodrigues Exit Early Due To An Illness

Pittsburgh Penguins forwards Bryan Rust and Evan Rodrigues made just small cameos in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Islanders after they tried to play through an illness. Rust took just two shifts before calling it a night and Rodrigues settled for 6:27 of ice time before exiting in the middle of the first period. The Penguins were also without the suspended Evgeni Malkin, so they ended up doing a mightily impressive job by getting a point on the board. There's a rematch with the Islanders scheduled for Thursday, meaning Rust and Rodrigues won't have a lot of time to recover. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on Pittsburgh's lineup news.

Evan Rodrigues Shines Against Montreal With Three Points

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evan Rodrigues bagged a power-play goal and had two assists in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Canadiens, reaching 22 points for the season. The 28-year-old recently teamed up with Sidney Crosby and Kasperi Kapanen on the first line, and the trio went for six points in the big win. Rodrigues is a very attractive fantasy piece as long as he stays with Crosby, although he's found success in lesser roles as well this season. The Penguins complete this week with very juicy matchups against Buffalo and New Jersey.

Evan Rodrigues Fills Top-Six Role In Season Opener

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evan Rodrigues will start the season as the second-line center due to injuries to Sidney Crosby (wrist) and Evgeni Malkin (knee). He's joined on the line by Jason Zucker and Kasperi Kapanen for the season opener on Tuesday against Tampa. Jeff Carter will center the top line, which also features Danton Heinen and Bryan Rust. Rodrigues has only been a depth forward throughout his NHL career so it's a big opportunity for him, and he'll certainly be an intriguing option for DFS managers. The Penguins lineup is also set to include veteran center Brian Boyle, who signed a one-year deal on Tuesday after impressing during training camp.
