Jacob Bryson Fantasy Stats

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jacob Bryson entered concussion protocol on Saturday. In a game against the Florida Panthers, he was hurt on his first shift, falling awkwardly into the boards after a hit from Florida forward Jonah Gadjovich. Bryson has recorded one assist and four blocks in five games this season. He will likely miss some time, opening the door for Zach Metsa to enter the lineup. Metsa has yet to play in the league, but he's posted good numbers in the minors. Last season in the AHL, Metsa recorded 46 points (seven goals, 39 assists) in 69 outings. However, he will likely see only third-pairing minutes on the Sabres defense, making it difficult for him to have a significant impact in fantasy hockey.

If the former fourth-round selection were to sit out, Jacob Bernard-Docker could enter the lineup. Through 40 games this season, Bryson has tallied just six points (all helpers) while holding a -3 rating and added 43 blocked shots. Given his low ice time and minimal offensive upside, he does not carry much fantasy value.
