Jake Allen News
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen (upper body) will remain sidelined for at least one more week, the team announced on Wednesday. The veteran has already been unavailable for a number of games, last appearing on Jan. 7. Allen improved to 10-16-1 with his last start and has recorded a 3.52 goals-against average with a .892 save percentage. It's been a difficult season for Allen and it likely won't get any better once he is eventually ready to return. Sam Montembeault, who has gone 9-7-2, will continue to hold down the fort in Allen's absence, with Cayden Primeau as his backup.
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen has sustained an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day. He will be unavailable for Monday's clash with Seattle but could be ready to play later in the week. The team has called up Cayden Primeau from the AHL to work as Sam Montembeault's backup on Monday. Montembeault will get his 14th start of the campaign and will be looking for only his second win in six starts. He is 6-5-2 overall for the season with a 3.44 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage. It will be difficult for Montembeault to turn things around on Monday, as Seattle is riding a four-game winning streak and the team sits third in the league with a 3.66 goals-for average.
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen starts Friday against Dallas. Allen is playing in back-to-back games. In the first half of the back-to-back, Allen allowed two goals on 36 shots in a loss to Colorado by a score of 2-1 in overtime. Allen has lost four of his last five outings, and he has struggled at times this season. He ranks 22nd in the league with a 3.27 goals-against average. He has a tough matchup against stopper Jake Oettinger and the Dallas Stars on Friday.
Montreal Canadiens netminder Jake Allen picked up his ninth win of the season, beating the Flames 2-1. Allen has been subpar in 2022, but on Monday, the 32-year-old stopped 34 of 35 Calgary shots. Unfortunately, if a fantasy player is looking to add a goaltender, Allen isn't who you want to add or acquire via trade at this time. Montreal is just two points out of a Wild Card position, but they have given up the third most goals in the NHL with 97.
