Justin Brazeau Out Week-to-Week

Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Justin Brazeau (upper body) is considered week-to-week, the team announced on Tuesday. Brazeau was out of the lineup for the second consecutive contest on Tuesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes, joining Sidney Crosby (lower body) and Evgeni Malkin (suspension) on the sidelines. The Penguins' frontline looks incredibly thin right now, but they made Carolina work hard for two points on Tuesday, only losing 5-4 in a shootout. Bryan Rust and Egor Chinakhov, who skated on the first line with Rickard Rakell, combined for five points. Anthony Mantha and Ville Koivunen also performed well. Until Pittsburgh gets some players back, this group will need to maintain its strong play.

Justin Brazeau Pots First Career Hat Trick Sunday

Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Justin Brazeau had a big outing on Sunday night against the Chicago Blackhawks, erupting for his first career hat trick in a 7-3 win. He scored Pittsburgh's third goal during a dominant four-goal first period and added two more in the second, including a power-play marker. Brazeau had a red-hot start to the season with 12 points in October, but he has struggled to regain momentum after missing several weeks with an upper-body injury. Since returning in early December, the 27-year-old has managed only six points (five goals, one assist) in 11 appearances. He has finished eight of those games without producing any offense. Despite his recent struggles, Brazeau is fourth on his team with 11 goals and has totaled 18 points in 23 games this season.

Justin Brazeau Ruled Out for Four Weeks

Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Justin Brazeau (upper body) is unlikely to return to action before December after the team ruled him out for a minimum of four weeks. He has already sat out a couple of games due to an upper-body injury. Brazeau picked up the injury at an awful time, as he's been one of Pittsburgh's best players early this season. In 12 outings, Brazau has averaged a point per game, scoring six goals. Philip Tomasino has returned to the lineup during Brazeau's absence. Meanwhile, Thomas Novak and Ben Kindel are new faces in the top six. The Penguins attack will also be without Noel Acciari (upper body) for at least the next three weeks.

Justin Brazeau Remains Out Monday

Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Justin Brazeau (upper body) will miss a second straight game on Monday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. After being red-hot to begin the season, Brazeau sustained an upper-body injury. Playing on the second line, Brazeau averaged a point per game before his injury, posting six goals and six assists in 12 appearances. His next chance to return will be on Thursday versus the Washington Capitals. Philip Tomasino has taken over Brazeau's spot next to Evgeni Malkin, but after five outings, he's still looking for his first points of the campaign. Pittsburgh's frontline also remains without Rickard Rakell (hand), Kevin Hayes (upper body), and Rutger McGroarty (upper body), boosting the fantasy value of Filip Hallander and Ville Koivunen.

Justin Brazeau Records Three Points Against Canucks

Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Justin Brazeau continued his dream start to the season with a three-point effort in Tuesday's 5-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. He finished with a goal and two assists, grabbing two power-play points. Before joining the Penguins for this season, Brazeau had totaled only 29 points (16 goals, 13 assists) in 95 career games. Suddenly, he's looking like one of the league's best wingers, boasting five goals and eight points through seven games for the campaign. Brazeau deserves attention from fantasy managers as long as he stays hot.
