Rakell has now had a nice four-game spell with two goals and three assists, jumping to 29 points for the season. The Swedish winger has been a consistent scorer on the Penguins second line, with his longest scoring drought being a three-game run near the end of 2022. Only Crosby (21) and Guentzel (18) have scored more goals than Rakell (15) for the Penguins this season.

Pittsburgh Penguins winger Rickard Rakell (upper body) could be back in action on Friday against the Rangers, with the team considering him a game-time decision. He's been on the shelf since getting hurt in Game 1. Rakell put in some work at the morning skate, although he didn't take part in the line rushes, which isn't the greatest of signs regarding his potential return. At least he's close to returning now, though, and the team will need all the help they can get with Sidney Crosby (concussion) unavailable. Rakell joined Pittsburgh from Anaheim in March and made a solid contribution across 19 regular-season outings with 13 points and 38 hits.

Pittsburgh Penguins winger Rickard Rakell (upper body) was at the team's optional morning skate on Wednesday, but he won't play in Game 5 against the Rangers. Rakell was hurt early in Game 1 and is considered day-to-day. His injury was a big blow for the team, but the Penguins have rallied together and can end the series with a victory on Wednesday. Kasperi Kapanen has done a good job as Rakell's replacement on the second line. He's got only two points but is plus-four for the series, which is the best plus/minus rating among all Pittsburgh forwards.
