Mikko Rantanen Returns to Stars Lineup Wednesday

Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen (suspension) will rejoin the lineup on Wednesday against the Seattle Kraken. The Finnish superstar didn't play in Tuesday's win over the Edmonton Oilers due to an automatic suspension he received for having two game misconduct penalties in three contests. Rantanen is poised to land back on the first line, joining Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnson, who exploded for four points in Tuesday's 8-3 victory. In his last appearance, Rantanen saw a five-game point streak end. The Calgary Flames became only the fourth team this season to keep Rantanen off the score sheet. He has amassed 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 22 outings.

Mikko Rantanen Suspended for One Game

Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen has received an automatic one-game suspension due to a second match penalty in three games. Rantanen was tossed from the game for boarding on Nov. 18 against the New York Islanders and received another ejection for boarding in Saturday's loss to the Calgary Flames. As a result of the suspension, Rantanen must sit out Tuesday's Western Conference Finals rematch against the Edmonton Oilers. He will be eligible to return to action on Wednesday night against the Seattle Kraken. Due to Rantanen's absence, Sam Steel may receive another opportunity in the top six. Meanwhile, Matt Duchene (upper body) could be another option if he is ready to return to the lineup.

Mikko Rantanen Nets Another Hat Trick Wednesday

Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen scored a second straight hat trick in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Winnipeg Jets, pushing his team to a 3-2 victory. There had previously been only two occasions in Stanley Cup Playoffs history where a player had scored back-to-back hat tricks. Rantanen's efforts in front of the net gave Dallas a 3-1 lead from a 1-0 deficit, making him the first player in franchise history with a natural hat trick in the playoffs. We have seen incredible work from Rantanen over the past few games, as he has posted three-plus points in four consecutive outings. The Finnish superstar is now the postseason leader in goals (8) and points (15).

Mikko Rantanen Finishes Game 6 Loss With Four Points

Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen tallied four points -- all in the second period -- during Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. The former Avalanche player registered one goal and three assists, tying the NHL record for the most points in a playoff period. Incredibly, Roope Hintz also had four points (two goals, two assists) as Dallas earned a 4-3 lead, marking the NHL's first instance of teammates each recording four points in a playoff period. Rantanen contributed just one assist in the first four games of the series, but he has suddenly kicked into gear with two goals and five assists over the last two contests. He should be highly motivated to maintain his form in Game 7 against the team that traded him in January.

Mikko Rantanen Tallies Three Points In Monday's Win

Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen accumulated three points in Monday's big 6-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche. His former teammates had held Rantanen to just one point through four games, but he returned to form on Monday night with a goal and two assists. Rantanen's first goal of the postseason, scored early in the second period, turned out to be the game-winning goal. It has been a slow start to the playoffs for Rantanen, but he is one of the most productive players in Stanley Cup Playoffs history, and it was only a matter of time before the Finnish star regained his rhythm on the offensive end.

Mikko Rantanen Cleared To Play For Team Finland

According to Elliotte Friedman of SportsNet, Carolina Hurricanes right wing Mikko Rantanen (lower body) will play for Team Finland in the 4 Nations Face-Off. The star forward was unable to play in Carolina's final game before the international break with this injury but has been cleared to play for Finland. Fantasy managers should monitor Rantanen's status before their opening game on Thursday against Team USA in case he faces a setback. Before the international break, Rantanen was traded from the Colorado Avalanche to Carolina in a blockbuster deal. Across his first six contests with his new club, the 28-year-old has tallied one goal and one assist. During his first 49 games of the season in Colorado, he tallied 64 points (25 goals and 39 helpers). On Thursday, Rantanen will be a top option for DFS as he should see top minutes in the Finland offense.

Mikko Rantanen Celebrates A Hat Trick On Opening Night

Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen kicked off the new season with his eighth career hat trick, scoring in each period in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to Vegas. Only Jari Kurri (23), Teemu Selanne (22), and Patrik Laine (10) now have more hat tricks in NHL history among Finnish-born players. Rantanen struck twice during even-strength play and had one power-play goal, finishing with a game-high six shots on goal. The 27-year-old entered the campaign having scored nearly 100 goals across the previous two seasons, and it looks like Rantanen has no plans of slowing down in front of the net.
