Mikko Rantanen Collects Lone Avalanche Goal In Game 3 Loss

Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen scored his third goal of the postseason in a 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars in Game 3 of their second-round series. Rantanen scored in the second period to tie the game at one, but Colorado couldn't muster up any more offense after that and went down 2-1 in the series. The star forward has 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in eight postseason games and has looked like his usual self while playing on Nathan MacKinnon's wing. The offense is likely to return for the Avs, as this was the first game of the playoffs where they scored less than three goals.

Mikko Rantanen Dishes Out Two Assists In Game 1 Victory

Colorado Avalanche right wing Mikko Rantanen played his part in Tuesday's 4-3 comeback win over Dallas with two assists. The Avalanche found themselves in a 3-0 hole after the first period but still found a way to win in overtime. Rantanen collected even-strength assists on the team's second and third goals. It's his third multi-point effort in four games. The Finnish winger boasts 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in six games for the postseason. Only his teammate Cale Makar (12) and Edmonton's Connor McDavid (12) have scored more points.

Mikko Rantanen Helps Finish Off Jets With Three Points

Colorado Avalanche winger Mikko Rantanen scored two goals and added an assist in a 6-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets in Game 5 of their first-round series. Rantanen scored both his goals in the third period, with the first breaking a 3-3 tie and the second coming as an important insurance tally. The 27-year-old had a huge first round, posting nine points (two goals, seven assists) while playing on the Avs first line and first powerplay unit. Rantanen, Mackinnon, and Nichushkin looked absolutely dominant for the entire series and will be extremely hard to shut down for any team they come across.

Mikko Rantanen In Concussion Protocol

Colorado Avalanche winger Mikko Rantanen has landed in concussion protocol. He was injured on Friday versus Edmonton and sat out Sunday's 7-4 loss to Dallas. Colorado also played without Miles Wood (lower body) on Sunday. Zach Parise stepped up to fill a top-six role. The veteran, who's posted nine points (four goals, five assists) in 26 games for the Avalanche, will have extra fantasy value until Rantanen's return. The Finnish star skated Sunday morning, but it's unclear when he will be able to jump back into action.

Mikko Rantanen Registers Four Assists Versus Red Wings

Colorado Avalanche right wing Mikko Rantanen had a fantastic game as a playmaker on Wednesday against Detroit, totaling four assists in a 7-2 victory. All four were primary assists, with two of them coming on the power play. The prolific outing pushed Rantanen's point streak to eight games. He's become the fifth player in the league this season to tally 30-plus goals and 50-plus assists. With 64 games played, Rantanen has racked up 83 points, meaning he's on track to surpass his career-high 105 points from last year.

Mikko Rantanen Enjoys Another Three-Point Outing

Colorado Avalanche right wing Mikko Rantanen totaled one goal and two assists for a second consecutive three-point game in Wednesday's 5-1 win against Buffalo. Rantanen has strung together two big performances after being criticized in Finnish media. Following Monday's matchup against Calgary, in which he also had a goal and two assists, Rantanen noted that he was partly motivated by the "lies" written back home. He's returned to form in style and is now close to hitting the 40-point mark for the season, with 14 goals and 23 to his name in 29 games.

Mikko Rantanen Amasses Three Points In Monday's Win

Colorado Avalanche right wing Mikko Rantanen contributed a goal and two assists as the team defeated Calgary 6-5 on Monday. Rantanen bagged two of his points, including his goal, in the third period when Colorado turned a 5-4 loss into a win. The big performance, which included a power-play assist at the start of the second period, put a stop to a season-worst three-game scoring drought for Rantanen. It was his first three-game run without any points since October 2022. The Finnish forward is one of the most consistent scorers in the league and has proven it in 2023-24 with 13 goals and 21 assists in 28 games.

Mikko Rantanen Good To Go For Opening Night

Colorado Avalanche right wing Mikko Rantanen (lower body) returned to practice over the weekend and feels ready to go for opening night. The Avalanche start the action Wednesday in Los Angeles. Rantanen was forced to sit out a preseason game last week after picking up a lower-body injury. However, it appears that it was only a minor issue. The Finnish forward played in all 82 regular-season games last season and had his first 100-point campaign with 55 goals and 50 assists. He's set to open the season on the top line with Jonathan Drouin and Nathan MacKinnon.

Mikko Rantanen Dealing With Lower-Body Injury

Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, according to head coach Jared Bednar. Rantanen's injury isn't much of a concern, and he should be ready to go for opening night. Last year, the big-bodied Finn put up his first-ever 100-point season, notching 55 goals and 50 assists. He is being drafted as a late first-round pick this year and should provide enough value to make fantasy managers happy with their selection.

Mikko Rantanen Posts Two Goals, An Assist In Game 3 Win

Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen crushed it against the Kraken with two goals and one assist in Saturday's Game 3 victory. After helping Nathan MacKinnon on the scoreboard in the first period, Rantanen lit the lamp twice in the third period, breaking a tie and locking up the 6-4 victory with an empty-netter. The Avalanche big guns have struggled in the early parts of the series, with MacKinnon even admitting that the Kraken are the toughest first-round opponents he has ever faced, but there's simply too much quality in the squad for the team to struggle for long. Rantanen continues to sit among the most productive playoff performers ever and has now tallied 25 goals and 81 points in 66 games for his postseason career.

Mikko Rantanen Hands Out Two Assists In Friday's Win

Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen played his part in Friday's 4-3 win over Nashville with two assists. Both of the helpers came on goals scored by Nathan MacKinnon. Rantanen himself had a great goal-scoring campaign as well, netting 55 times, which marks the most goals a player on the team has scored since the franchise moved to Denver in 1995. The Finnish star added 50 assists for his first 100-point campaign. 17 of his 105 points came in the final eight games, so Rantanen is in superb form ahead of the playoffs.

Valeri Nichushkin then gave the visitors another lead in the third, with Rantanen picking up a power-play assist on the play. Rantanen entered Sunday's action following a couple of quiet outings, but he has been on a great run to finish off the campaign, logging five multi-point efforts in his last nine games. Mikko Rantanen Picks Up Three Points Against Calgary

Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen led the charge in Wednesday's 4-1 victory over Calgary, recording two goals and an assist. He had two points in the first period and iced the game inside the final minute with his 31st goal of the season. Playing in only his 43rd game, Rantanen became the fastest Avalanche player to reach 30 goals in a season, beating Joe Sakic's record of 44 games set during the team's first campaign in 1995-96. The Finnish star has also picked up 25 assists during another very productive campaign. Colorado's forwards group has had all kinds of injury troubles, but Rantanen has so far played in every game, and should it remain so, he will have a great chance of hitting 100 points for the season for the first time in his career.
