Thomas Harley to Miss Road Trip

Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley (lower body) will not join the team for an upcoming four-game road trip, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports. Harley has missed two games with a lower-body injury and is going to need a bit more time to recover. He has been officially listed as week-to-week. Ilya Lyubushkin (undisclosed) won't be on the plane either, leaving the Dallas blue line without two regular contributors. Vladislav Kolyachonok was brought up from the minors this week and is set to remain in the lineup until the injuries clear up. However, he was used very sparingly in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders, as Kolyachonok logged less than 10 minutes of ice time.

Thomas Harley Out Week-to-Week

Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley (lower body) will be out week-to-week. He missed his first game of the season on Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers and will spend some more time on the sidelines due to a lower-body injury. "He was dealing with it. He played three or four games with it," Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan said on Saturday. "It becomes a point right now where you don't want to make the injury worse. It's the smartest decision for the athlete just to take that time now and get it dealt with." Harley is a big piece of the Stars' blue line, averaging nearly 23 minutes of ice time. He has recorded 10 points (one goal, nine assists), 21 shots, and 43 blocks in 18 games. Kyle Capobianco replaced Harley in the lineup on Saturday.

Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley has been signed to an eight-year, $84.696 million contract extension. Starting next season, Harley's contract will have a cap hit of $10.587 million. The talented defenseman is currently in the final season of a two-year, $4 million bridge deal. Over the last couple of years, Harley's development has been hugely impressive, and he's also made a great start to the 2025-26 campaign. With 10 games played, Harley boasts eight points (one goal, seven assists) and has blocked a team-high 30 shots. At 24, Harley is still young for a defenseman and appears to be on track for a very successful career.

Thomas Harley Records Two Points in Series-Clincher

Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley had a hand in both goals in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win against the Winnipeg Jets that sent the team to the Conference Finals. The rising star assisted Sam Steel on the game-tying goal in the second period and potted the game-winner himself with only 1:33 played in the extra frame. Harley found the back of the net on the power play, scoring for the fourth time in these playoffs. Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley finished Tuesday's 3-1 victory against the Winnipeg Jets with one assist, two hits, and a plus-one rating across 26:09 of ice time. He helped set up Mikael Granlund for a power-play goal in the first frame. The power-play assist extended Harley's postseason-opening home point streak to six games. Over the last 20 years, only Adam Fox of the New York Rangers has enjoyed a longer such run among defensemen. Harley has played a huge role for the Stars in the 2025 playoffs, registering nine points (three goals, six assists), 20 shots, 27 blocks, and 16 hits in 11 games. Harley has taken on a significant workload in the Stars defense due to Miro Heiskanen's (knee) unavailability and is now receiving much-needed time off before the postseason. Heiskanen has been ruled out for the first game of the playoffs, so Harley must also be ready to eat up major minutes when postseason action starts. Thomas Harley Joining Team Canada

According to Elliotte Friedman, Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley is joining Team Canada before their contest against Team USA on Saturday evening. With Cale Makar (illness) missing Friday's practice, the team is allowed to add another defenseman to their roster. In addition, Shea Theodore (arm) has already been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament. However, head coach Jon Cooper noted earlier on Friday that he is "confident" that Makar will be available. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Makar's status leading up to the game. Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley has signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the club ahead of the start of training camp. Harley needed to get a new contract done before the camp because he was a restricted free agent. The Stars have seen Harley quickly blossom into a highly productive blue-liner. Only seven defensemen in the league managed more than his 15 goals last season, while Harley collected 47 points overall across 79 outings.
