Lindell assisted Mavrick Bourque during even-strength play in the first period and potted a power-play goal in the second. This was LIndell's second multi-point effort in four games. With Miro Heiskanen (lower body) absent from the blue line, Lindell has seen increased power-play time late in the season. Heiskanen is iffy for the start of the postseason, so Lindell could continue to have an expanded role for a few more games. He finished the regular season with a career-high-matching 32 points (six goals, 26 assists), 83 shots, 179 blocks, and a team-best plus-30 rating in 82 games.

The new deal locks Lindell up through the 2029-30 season, with the 30-year-old set to play out the final campaign of his current six-year, $34.8 million contract in 2024-25. Lindell has been Mr. Reliable for Dallas for a number of years and hasn't even missed a single game across the last two seasons. He notched 26 points (five goals, 21 assists) last term and led the team with 162 blocks. Lindell's numbers should be there or thereabouts again in 2024-25 as he continues to chuck up massive minutes as a vital part of the team's defense.

He was a late scratch with a non-COVID illness for Monday's 6-2 loss to Vancouver but has had some time to rest now and took part in the morning skate. Lindell has been a nice asset for fantasy managers with his defensive stats, recording 106 hits and 141 blocks in 70 games, and he's also managed to compile 24 points while averaging 22:06 of ice time. Andrej Sekera is dropping out of the lineup to make room for Lindell.
