Miro Heiskanen Pushes Point Streak To Three Games

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen extended his point streak to three games in Wednesday's Game 4 loss to the Oilers. He picked up an assist as Esa Lindell put Dallas 2-0 up with just 5:29 played, but the Stars crumbled and suffered a 5-2 defeat. Heiskanen was minus-two for the contest while also registering one block. The Finnish blue-liner, who leads all remaining skaters in ice time with 28:06 per game, has been a major two-way force for Dallas all postseason. He has recorded 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 17 games with 38 shots, 40 blocks, and 25 hits.

Miro Heiskanen Extends Scoring Streak With Three-Point Outing

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen took his scoring streak to four games with a three-point outing in Monday's 5-1 win over Colorado. He registered a goal and two assists, setting a new franchise record among blue-liners with his fourth three-point game in the playoffs. The big effort also made Heiskanen Dallas' top scorer in the 2024 postseason. With 11 games played, he's tallied 12 points (four goals, eight assists). Edmonton's Evan Bouchard (13) is the lone defenseman with more points than him.

Miro Heiskanen Nets Two Power-Play Goals In Game 2 Victory

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen had a productive outing with two power-play goals in Thursday's Game 2 victory over Colorado. He had the Stars' first and third goals in a 5-3 win, joining Brian Glynn as the second blue-liner in franchise history with multiple power-play goals in a playoff game. Heiskanen boasts three goals in total and eight points in nine games this postseason. The Finnish rearguard has been a terrific performer in the playoffs throughout his career, as he has collected 53 points (13 goals, 40 assists) in 75 postseason games -- only Cale Makar (77) and Victor Hedman (69) have scored more points among defensemen since Heiskanen made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut in 2019.

Miro Heiskanen Records Four Assists In High-Scoring Clash

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen picked up four assists as the team was involved in a high-scoring 7-6 clash with the Sharks on Tuesday, eventually winning in overtime. Heiskanen completed his night at the office with the secondary assist on Roope Hintz's overtime winner. He had two power-play helpers in the opening frame on goals by Jamie Benn and Logan Stankoven, and Heiskanen collected another assist when Wyatt Johnston pushed the game to overtime with a late strike in the third period. Heiskanen moved to 42 points (seven goals, 35 assists) for the season with 53 games played. 11 of his points (two goals, nine assists) have come in his past 10 appearances.

Miro Heiskanen Back In Action Tuesday

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (personal) will return to the lineup on Tuesday versus the Rangers. He missed Monday's matchup against Boston for the birth of his first child. With Jani Hakanpaa (upper body) also out of the lineup, the Stars found themselves in a rough spot on Monday, but Heiskanen's return should lift the spirit around the team. The 24-year-old is very influential on the blue line and leads all skaters on the team with an average ice time of 24:55. In 45 outings this season, Heiskanen has produced 33 points (six goals, 27 assists) with 104 shots on net, 34 hits, and 64 blocks.

Miro Heiskanen To Return Thursday Versus Ducks

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (lower body) will return to the lineup Thursday night against the visiting Anaheim Ducks. The smooth-skating blue-liner has missed the past 10 games after suffering his injury in the third period of an overtime loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Jan. 4. He skated on a pair with Thomas Harley on Thursday morning. The 24-year-old is having another stellar season with four goals and 27 points across 37 games after producing a hefty 73 points across 79 contests a season ago. His 25:03 of average ice time per game this season is tops on the Stars and ranks him seventh among all NHL skaters. The Stars went 6-3-1 in their No. 1 defenseman's absence and sit third in the Central Division with a 28-13-6 record.

Miro Heiskanen Out Week-To-Week

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (lower body) will be out for a while with a lower-body injury he sustained in Thursday's game against the Colorado Avalanche. While the news is somewhat positive, the fact that Heiskanen doesn't need surgery is terrific, it still isn't ideal for the Stars as they will be without their best defenseman for at least a week. Without him, Dallas will likely deploy Thomas Harley on the first powerplay unit, a spot he could excel in. He is a priority pickup in leagues where he is available, especially for those who just lost Heiskanen.

Miro Heiskanen Sustains A Lower-Body Injury

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen picked up a lower-body injury in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to Colorado. He exited the action early in the third period after crashing into Stars goaltender Scott Wedgewood. Heiskanen finished with 14:58 of ice time and had one assist in the contest, which Dallas lost after blowing a two-goal lead in the third period. The Finnish rearguard is a huge presence at the back for the Stars, and the team will be desperate for some good news as evaluations on Heiskanen continue on Friday. Heiskanen has collected 27 points (three goals, 24 assists) in 37 outings this season.

Miro Heiskanen Rolls To Three Points On Monday

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen had a game-high three points in Monday's high-scoring 6-3 victory over Detroit. He potted a power-play goal in the first period and went on to add a power-play assist in the third before wrapping up the game with an empty-net goal. This was Heiskanen's third three-point effort of the season. He's been blowing hot and cold, taking a significant step back offensively compared to last season, but a haul of 19 points (three goals, 16 assists) in 27 games is still a decent return for a player whose career average in scoring stands below 0.60.

Miro Heiskanen Opens His Account With A Three-Point Effort

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen finally got his offensive game going in Thursday's matchup against the Ducks, factoring in all of the team's goals in a 3-2 win. He had two power-play assists and logged the game-winning goal 6:47 into the third period. Heiskanen, who had a big 73-point year in 79 games last term, had gone scoreless in his first two outings of 2023-24. The Finnish blue-liner will be pleased to have opened his account for the new campaign, and he will look to build on Thursday's performance Saturday against the Flyers.

Miro Heiskanen Aims To Become NHL's Best Defenseman

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen is full of confidence following a 73-point season and believes he can win the Norris Trophy. "That's one thing I really want to win," Heiskanen said at the NHL European Player Media Tour. "I want to be the best defenseman in the NHL." Heiskanen was seventh in the Norris voting last season despite a huge improvement on the offensive end. His previous career-high stood at 36 points. The 73-point effort put him tied for fifth among all blue-liners in the league, and he was third among defensemen with 62 assists. "I kind of knew that it is there, that I can score more points and be more involved offensively," Heiskanen added. "I think I was able to put it all together. It didn't take away the defense by playing more offense." Heiskanen added 96 blocks in 79 games on the defensive end while logging a plus-12 rating with 25:29 of ice time. He entered the elite category among defensemen and looks set to stay there for a long time, as Heiskanen turned just 24 in July.

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen registered two assists as the team staved off elimination with a 3-2 overtime victory against Vegas on Thursday. The helpers came in power-play situations, with Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski being the goal-scorers. Heiskanen played exactly half an hour in the contest and also had three shots on goal with two blocks and three hits. Miro Heiskanen Scores Opening Goal In Game 2 Loss

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen scored his first goal of the playoffs and added three shots on goal, two hits and two blocked shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss against the Golden Knights in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final. Heiskanen gave the Stars an early lead to open the contest as his shot from the faceoff circle took a bounce through traffic and over Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill less than three minutes into the first period. Heiskanen snapped a two-game pointless streak with the goal and brought his playoff total to 10 points through 15 games played, which ranks first among Stars defensemen.

Miro Heiskanen A Game-Time Decision Tuesday

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (upper body) is regarded as a game-time decision for Tuesday's meeting with Seattle. He was forced to leave the previous game in the series after taking a puck to the face, but Heiskanen skated Tuesday morning and looks ready to play. His presence would be a big boost for the Stars, who dropped Game 3 and will head onto the ice Tuesday in a 2-1 deficit in the second-round series. Heiskanen is among the highest-scoring defensemen in the league with seven points in nine games and has amassed a plus-two rating with 17 blocks.

Miro Heiskanen Exits With Injury Sunday

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen left Sunday's Game 3 against Seattle with an undisclosed injury, logging only 11:12 of ice time. He was unable to continue after taking a puck off the face on a play that saw the Kraken open the scoring early in the second period. With their No. 1 defenseman unavailable, the Stars ended up completely falling apart, losing 7-2. More trouble could be on the horizon if Heiskanen is deemed unhealthy to play in Game 4. The 23-year-old has had a superb season and is averaging a massive 27:41 of ice time in the playoffs, which puts him second in the league behind L.A's Drew Doughty.

Miro Heiskanen Racks Up Four Assists In Game 2 Victory

Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen put in a huge performance in Wednesday's Game 2 against Minnesota, helping the team to a 7-3 victory with four assists. The 23-year-old matched a franchise record for most points in a playoff game by a Stars/North Stars defenseman. Three of Heiskanen's assists came on the power play. That's now five assists in two games for Heiskanen in the series. He crushed his previous career-high numbers in assists and points during the regular season and looks ready to do so in the playoffs as well. Heiskanen's best postseason campaign was in 2019-20 when he registered 20 assists and 26 points in 27 games as the Stars made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals.
