Roope Hintz Recovering From Hamstring Injury

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz revealed he dealt with a hamstring injury late in the season, Taylor Baird of NHL.com reports. The Finnish forward dropped out of the lineup in early March and didn't play in Dallas' first-round defeat to the Minnesota Wild. "I just kind of over-stretched it or something and it just kind of popped; I don't know what really happened there," Hintz said Monday. He feels he could have been ready to play in Game 2 or Game 3 of the second round if Dallas had advanced. This suggests Hintz shouldn't have any trouble getting 100 percent healthy for next season. He remains a core piece for the Stars, averaging 0.91 points per game since 2020-21.

Roope Hintz Likely to Miss Entire First-Round Series

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (lower body) is not expected to return to action during the first-round series against the Minnesota Wild. Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan has ruled Hintz out for Tuesday's Game 5 and Thursday's Game 6. He is also considered unlikely to play in a potential Game 7. A lower-body injury knocked Hintz out of the lineup on March 6. With Hintz absent, Justin Hryckowian has skated on the first line in the playoffs. He has been a physical force, recording 15 hits, but his offensive production has been limited. In four games, Hryckowian has contributed one assist and managed only one SOG.

Roope Hintz "Ways Away" From Returning

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (lower body) resumed skating on Wednesday, Lia Assimakopoulos of the Dallas Morning News reports. This is a significant step toward returning to the lineup, but Hintz's comeback isn't imminent. "He's still a ways away," Stars head coach Gulutzan said. "Your next step before we kind of see where he's at is probably to skate with us, so we'll see when he's ready to do that." Hintz hasn't traveled with the team to Saint Paul and will miss Saturday's Game 4 of the first-round series against the Minnesota Wild. He is also highly doubtful to play in Game 5, scheduled for Tuesday in Dallas. Justin Hryckowian has been effective on the first line this postseason and is likely to keep his spot until Hintz returns.

Roope Hintz Doubtful for Game 4

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (lower body) is considered doubtful for Game 4 against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. After the teams split the first two games, the series will shift to Saint Paul on Wednesday, and Hintz hasn't traveled with the team. The Finnish forward has been nursing a lower-body injury since early March. Despite his absence, the Stars finished the regular season strongly. They also kicked into gear in Game 2 against Minnesota, with Wyatt Johnston, Hintz's replacement as the top-line center, scoring twice in the 4-2 victory.

Roope Hintz to Miss at Least Two More Games

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (lower body) will be unavailable for at least two more games, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. He will sit out Monday's Game 2 against the Minnesota Wild and isn't expected to be in the lineup for Wednesday's Game 3 either. Hintz last played on March 6 and isn't even skating on his own yet, which suggests he isn't close to returning. In Hintz's absence, Justin Hryckowian has gotten an opportunity on the first line at the start of the postseason. In Game 1, Hryckowian failed to register any attempts on the net but led his team with six hits in 13:00 of ice time.

Roope Hintz to Miss First Two Playoff Games

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (lower body) will miss the team's first two playoff games, and these might not be his only absences during the postseason. "Certainly, Roope won't be in Games 1 or 2," Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan said on Tuesday. "We don't know when he could come back or if he could come back. We'll see." Hintz is dealing with a lower-body injury and has appeared in only one game since the Olympic break ended. Before his injury, the Finnish forward was playing well, recording 44 points (15 goals, 29 assists) in 53 games.

Roope Hintz Not Expected to Return During Regular Season

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (lower body) remains week-to-week and is not expected to play until the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs start. Dallas has three regular-season games remaining, starting with Saturday's matchup with the New York Rangers. Hintz has sat out 17 games due to a lower-body injury. He might also miss some postseason action, as Stars general manager Jim Nill told reporters the team isn't sure whether Hintz will be available for Game 1 of the opening round. Hintz will finish the 2025-26 regular season with 44 points (15 goals, 29 assists) in 53 games. Justin Hryckowian has done well in an expanded role during Hintz's absence, looking to extend his point streak to three games on Saturday.

Roope Hintz to Miss At Least a Couple of Weeks

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (lower body) is expected to be out for at least a couple of weeks. The Finnish forward suffered a lower-body injury in Friday's loss to the Colorado Avalanche. "It's going to be a couple of weeks for sure. We don't know exactly how much but it's not a couple of days, so we'll see how long that is," Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters on Saturday, adding the team hopes to see Hintz return before the playoffs. Hintz has been Dallas' fourth-highest scoring forward this season, amassing 44 points (15 goals, 29 assists) in 53 games. Mavrik Bourque is set to move back to the first line to fill in for Hintz.

Roope Hintz Suffers Lower-Body Injury Friday

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (lower body) couldn't complete Friday's matchup with the Colorado Avalanche. He had to be helped off the ice in the second period after suffering a lower-body injury. This was Hintz's first appearance after the Olympics, as he had missed four games due to illness. Unfortunately, it looks like Hintz could be sidelined again for some time. As a result, the Stars may move Mavrik Bourque back to the top line, with Wyatt Johnston shifting to center. Bourque collected two assists on Friday night and has averaged a point per game across his last nine appearances.

Due to illness, the Finnish forward hasn't played for the Stars since the Olympics. Hintz will resume his role as the top-line center, with Wyatt Johnston shifting to the right wing. Mavrik Bourque is expected to move down to the third line. Across 52 games this season, Hintz has tallied 15 goals and 29 assists. He has recorded points in three of his last four regular-season games against Colorado.

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (illness) won't be available for a third consecutive game on Monday night against the Vancouver Canucks. He continues to work his way back from illness and could be available for the second leg of a back-to-back on Tuesday against Calgary. Arttu Hyry will remain in the lineup on Monday, while Wyatt Johnston will continue to center the first line. On Monday, Johnston has a chance to record his second three-game multi-point streak of the season. He has tallied three goals and one assist in two games since play resumed after the Olympic break.

Roope Hintz Remains Out Saturday

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (illness) will miss a second consecutive game on Saturday against the Nashville Predators. The Finnish forward has been unable to play since the Olympic break ended due to illness. With Tyler Seguin (knee) out for the season and Mikko Rantanen (lower body) also expected to miss extended time, Hintz will have a pivotal role to play for the Stars once he's back in the lineup. The 29-year-old boasts 44 points (15 goals, 29 assists) in 52 games this season. Wyatt Johnston will center the first line until Hintz returns.

Roope Hintz Misses Wednesday's Action Due to Illness

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup with the Seattle Kraken. He's been battling an illness after the Olympics and won't be available for at least one game. Dallas will also restart the action without Radek Faksa (upper body) and Mikko Rantanen (lower body), putting the spotlight on players like Mavrik Bourque and Sam Steel. The two will be part of the top six on Wednesday night and will skate on the second power-play unit. Meanwhile, injuries in the attacking department have opened the door for Arttu Hyry to make his NHL debut.

Roope Hintz Good to Go Saturday

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (leg) will play on Saturday night against the Florida Panthers. Hintz was injured during Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild, exiting the action late in the third period. Luckily, he avoided a serious injury and is going to remain in the lineup on Saturday. While Hintz finished Thursday's matchup scoreless, he has been sharp this season. Across 27 contests, Hintz has tallied nine goals and 26 points. He has been held off the score sheet in back-to-back games only twice in 2025-26.

Roope Hintz Exits Loss With Injury

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (foot) missed the end of Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild. He needed help to leave the ice after blocking a shot from teammate Miro Heiskanen with his foot. It was a rough night all around for Hintz, who finished with a minus-two rating and saw his point streak end on four games. Hintz has averaged close to a point per game this season, contributing nine goals and 17 assists in 27 games. Matt Duchene could replace Hintz in the top six if he has to miss additional time. The Stars will return to work on Saturday night against the Florida Panthers.

Roope Hintz a Game-Time Call Thursday

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (undisclosed) is a game-time decision for Thursday's tilt against the Anaheim Ducks. The Finnish forward has made significant progress in his recovery from an undisclosed injury and may return after missing five games. Hintz has averaged a point per game this season, registering one goal and seven assists in eight outings. If he's healthy enough to play, Hintz will return to a top-six role and link up with the first power-play unit. Five of his points this season have come during power-play situations.

Roope Hintz Still Out Thursday

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (upper body) will sit out a third consecutive game on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Dallas has had some bad luck with injuries early this season, and the team lost Hintz last week. The Finnish forward landed on the shelf after collecting one goal and seven assists in eight games. During Hintz's absence, Tyler Seguin has been elevated to the top-line center position. He scored the only goal in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Washington Capitals. However, Seguin has generally struggled this season. Through 10 games in 2025-26, the former All-Star has recorded five points (three goals and two assists).

Roope Hintz Unavailable Versus Predators

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (undisclosed) won't play in Sunday's contest against the Nashville Predators, Lia Assimakopoulos of the Dallas Morning News reports. He will miss at least one game after sustaining an undisclosed injury on Saturday night versus the Carolina Hurricanes. Hintz is tied for the most assists on the Stars squad with seven and has recorded eight points in as many games. Matt Duchene (upper body) will also remain out on Sunday, allowing Oskar Back (undisclosed) to join the lineup for his season debut. Tyler Seguin will take over as the top-line center. The veteran forward has been limited to two goals and four points this season, but but his fantasy value will increase with Mikko Rantanen playing alongside him.

Roope Hintz Injured on Saturday

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (undisclosed) didn't complete Saturday's contest against the Carolina Hurricanes and is questionable for a meeting with the Nashville Predators on Sunday night. Hintz was forced to leave the game after a hard hit into the boards, which resulted in a five-minute charging penalty for Hurricanes forward Taylor Hall. While Hintz has struggled to make an impact in recent outings, he's still averaging a point per game for the season. In eight contests, the Finnish forward has amassed one goal and seven assists. Matt Duchene (upper body) could return for Sunday's game and may replace Hintz if necessary. However, if both players are unavailable, Dallas will find itself in a difficult position.

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (foot) has announced that he is fully healthy ahead of the 2025-26 NHL season after breaking his foot during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. "I'm feeling good. My foot is fine, and I've been able to train normally this summer," Hintz said at the NHL/NHL Players' Association European Player Media Tour on Friday. "So everything is good." The Finnish forward also mentioned that he didn't require surgery, just a bit of rest, to recover from his foot injury. Hintz is about to enter his eighth NHL campaign. He has scored at least 60 points in four consecutive years, notching 28 goals and 39 assists in 76 outings last season.
