Nico Hischier Collects Two Assists Versus Avalanche

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier had his second consecutive multi-assist game on Tuesday, helping the team defeat the Colorado Avalanche 5-3. The Swiss centerman helped to set up Jesper Bratt and John Marino, with the latter bagging the game-winning goal. Hischier also put in a major shift on the defensive end with four blocks. He had 11 of his 30 points in January, and it looks like Hischier doesn't plan to slow down in February, either. He's notched 13 goals and 17 assists in 37 games for the season.

Nico Hischier Scores Twice In Victory

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier scored two goals in Saturday's 4-2 victory against the Flames. The 24-year-old extended his point streak to three consecutive games, while picking up at least one point in six of the past seven games. Hischier has been limited to only 14 games due to an upper-body injury in the early part of the season, but the center has produced six goals and 11 points while centering the second forward line.

Nico Hischier Returns To Practice Monday

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier returned to practice on Monday for the first time since suffering an upper-body injury on Oct. 27 in a game against the Buffalo Sabres. Hischier took a hit to the head from Sabres defenseman Connor Clifton who was subsequently handed a two-game suspension. The Swiss center has since missed the last nine games. "We hope to see him again at practice tomorrow but I don't really have a timeline... we'll see how practice goes," Devils head coach Lindy Ruff said. It was a slow start to the season for Hischier who set career-highs with 31 goals and 80 points last season. He notched two goals for his lone points through seven games while his 16:50 of average ice time is well below his 19:17 mark from a season ago.

Nico Hischier Not Expected To Join Team For Road Trip

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (upper body) is facing a multi-game absence, with general manager Tom Fitzgerald suggesting he won't join the team for an upcoming four-game road trip. According to James Nichols of New Jersey Hockey Now, Fitzgerald "doesn't anticipate" Hischier making the eight-day trip that starts Thursday in Minnesota. Hischier has already been out for one game after getting injured in a contest against Buffalo last week. Michael McLeod joined the top six in Hischer's absence in Sunday's 4-3 win against the Wild.

Nico Hischier Ruled Out For Sunday

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (upper body) has been ruled out for Sunday's clash with the Wild. He was injured Friday against Buffalo on a high hit from Sabres defenseman Connor Clifton. Things have gone horribly for Hischier so far this season, and this is another setback for him. Through seven games, the star centerman has recorded only two points. Dawson Mercer will likely replace Hischier in the top six on Sunday, while veteran Chris Tierney should get a chance to play his second game of the season.

Nico Hischier Good To Go Tuesday

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (upper body) is expected to play Tuesday versus Montreal. The star centerman was back in practice Monday and appears to have avoided any setbacks. Hischier was injured last Friday in a contest against the Islanders. Hopefully, he can kickstart his campaign as well now after going scoreless through the first four games of the season. Devils head coach Lindy Ruff also expects to have Erik Haula (upper body) available again on Tuesday. The left wing missed the Islanders game.

Nico Hischier Expected To Practice On Monday

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (upper body) appears to have avoided serious injury in Friday's clash with the Islanders. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman has reported that Hischier will be good to go for Monday's practice. It's been a rocky ride for Hischier so far this season, as he has gone without a point in all four of his appearances. If he comes Monday's practice through with no issues, Hischier will try to avoid a five-game scoring slump on Tuesday against Montreal.

Nico Hischier Continues Assist Streak

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier remains without a goal in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but he tallied an assist in a fourth consecutive game Saturday against the Rangers. The Swiss star had a power-play helper on a late Dawson Mercer goal. Hischier and the Devils blew a chance to finish off their neighbors Saturday, but they will get Game 7 on home ice, which should be a big advantage for the team. And maybe Hischier has been saving his goals for the crucial moments. He has fired blanks so far with 19 attempts on the net.

Nico Hischier Scores Game-Winning Goal In Overtime

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier found the back of the net 23 seconds into the extra frame in Sunday's 5-4 overtime victory against the Coyotes. Hischier has now scored four goals over the past five games, and all of them have led to wins for the high-scoring Devils team. The 24-year-old has totaled a career-high 27 goals to go along with 31 assists and 58 points through 61 games, while sitting only three points away from the highest point total in a single season for the Devils captain.

Nico Hischier Racks Up Four Points In Saturday's Win

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier ran the show against Pittsburgh on Saturday, completing a big 5-2 victory with four points. He had two goals and two assists in his second career four-point game. The Devils captain produced five shots on goal in total and helped out defensively as well with three blocks in 18:41 of ice time. The Swiss star had produced only one point across his previous seven outings, so this performance should be a nice confidence booster for him. Hischier boasts 23 goals and 51 points for the season with 54 games played.

Nico Hischier Extends Goal Streak

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier scored in a fourth consecutive game in Wednesday's 5-1 victory over Detroit. After being a game-time call with an undisclosed injury, Hischier had a great performance to mark his 24th birthday, recording the game-winning goal and also posting an assist. Both of his points came on the power play. In addition to a nice goal streak, Hischier also finds himself on a scoring run of five games. It's safe to say that he has gotten his season back on track after going through a five-game dry spell last month. The Devils star is now on 17 goals and 19 assists in 37 games for the season.

Nico Hischier A Game-Time Call On Wednesday

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (undisclosed) is a game-time decision for Wednesday's clash with the Red Wings. New Jersey head coach Lindy Ruff noted on Tuesday that Hischier is available for the game, but his status isn't as clear anymore a day later, although Ruff has still said that he's "hopeful" that the Devils captain is able to play. Hischier, who turned 24 on Wednesday, is riding a three-game goal streak and has been productive throughout the campaign with 34 points in 36 games. Jack Hughes will be carrying a big load if Hischier isn't available Wednesday.

Nico Hischier Contributes Three Points In Another Devils Win

New Jersey Devils centerman Nico Hischier dished out three assists knocking off Edmonton 5-2 for their 13th consecutive win. New Jersey tied a franchise record with the most recent victory. Hischier has been an essential player to the Devils during the winning streak, logging three goals and five assists in the last six contests. The Switzerland native centers the team's first line and has 22 points in 18 games. As long as the Devils keep winning like this, Nico Hischier should continue to put up points.

Nico Hischier Records Two Points In Victory

New Jersey Devils forward Nico Hischier finished with a goal and an assist in Sunday's 7-1 victory against the Blue Jackets. Hischier was involved on the opening goal of the game as he recorded an assist after forward Fabian Zetterlund's goal, while the captain gave the Devils a two-goal advantage early in the second period. Hischier is off to a great start to begin the season, as the former first overall draft pick is tied for the team lead with four goals and ranks second on the Devils in total points with nine as he hopes to put together a breakout season.

Nico Hischier Ready To Go Saturday Night

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (hamstring) is ready for his season debut on Saturday against Detroit. The former first-overall pick missed the team's season opener on Thursday against Philadelphia, as he was still recovering from a hamstring strain suffered during training camp. Hischier had a nice 60-point campaign in 70 games last term and he should be even more productive in 2022-23, with the Devils having gotten some extra help in attack for the season with the likes of Ondrej Palat. Yegor Sharangovich and Jesper Bratt are expected to skate with Hischier Saturday night.

Nico Hischier Returns To Practice

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (hamstring) was back at practice on Tuesday, but he still remains questionable for Thursday's season opener against Philadelphia. Getting back to practice is a big step towards returning to the lineup, but at the same time, Hischier skated for just half an hour and he will need to be able to work with the team to have a chance to make it to the lineup Thursday. The Devils have another practice scheduled for Wednesday. Hischier strained his hamstring in a preseason game against Montreal two weeks ago. He's a vital piece for the Devils and they definitely don't want to rush him back.

Nico Hischier Set To Be Re-Evaluated In 10 Days

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier has suffered a hamstring injury and will be re-evaluated in 10 days. The Devils captain wasn't able to complete Monday's clash against Montreal because of the ailment and further tests have revealed that he'll need some time to rest. Hamstring strains usually take a couple of weeks to heal, so it's possible that Hischier will be fine for the season opener against Philadelphia on Oct. 13, and Devils head coach Lindy Ruff has even suggested that the star center might still get a chance to soak in some further preseason action. Hischier had a career year with 60 points in 70 games last season and he should be able to improve his numbers even more in 2022-23 if he avoids serious injury.

Nico Hischier Extends Multi-Point Streak

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier posted a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Toronto, recording his fourth consecutive multi-point game. He helped Damon Severson to open the scoring with a power-play goal in the second frame and gave his team another lead himself later in the period, but it wasn't enough. Hischier has upped his points tally to 46 with his recent scoring surge. He has been held pointless just three times across his last 16 appearances ahead of Saturday's matchup against Washington. Sitting on 18 goals, the former first overall pick needs just three more markers to set a new career high.

Nico Hischier Returns To Lineup Against Vancouver

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (lower body) will return from a three-game absence on Tuesday against Vancouver. He was a full participant in Monday's practice and Devils head coach Lindy Ruff has now confirmed his return. The talented centerman is set to skate with Tomas Tatar and Jesper Bratt. Hischier had built himself a four-game point streak before dropping out of the line, and he's been held without a point just twice in his last 11 appearances. He's managed 38 points overall in 50 outings this season.

Nico Hischier Questionable To Play Tuesday Vs. Avalanche

New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (lower body) is listed as "questionable" for Tuesday's game against the visiting Colorado Avalanche. According to Devils head coach Lindy Ruff, the Swiss forward has been dealing with the injury for a couple of games now. Despite missing morning skate on Tuesday, Hischier is reportedly hopeful he will pencil into the lineup against Colorado. The 23-year-old has posted 38 points (16 goals, 22 assists) through 50 games played this season for New Jersey.
