Roman Josi Racks Up Three Points In Second Consecutive Outing

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi contributed a goal and two assists as the team recorded a seventh consecutive win with a 6-1 result against Minnesota on Thursday. He started out with assists in each of the first two periods before potting the team's fourth goal early in the third. Josi's second helper came with the man advantage. The Predators captain has now had back-to-back three-point efforts for the third time in his career - Pittsburgh's Erik Karlsson (6) is the only active blue-liner with more such occasions. The big performances have been part of a four-game point streak, and February, as a whole, was very productive for Josi, as the 2020 Norris Trophy winner picked up 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) in 10 games. He has reached the 60-point mark for the fourth time in his career, with 15 goals and 45 assists in 61 games.

Roman Josi Dishes Out Three Assists

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi grabbed three assists in Friday's 6-3 triumph over the Stars. Josi's work helped Tommy Novak score in the second period, and the Predators captain had two assists on a pair of third-period goals, which Filip Forsberg and Gustav Nyquist scored. The former came in a power-play situation. Josi is currently in the midst of one of his most productive spells of the season, having finished without a point just once in his past six appearances. He continues to be among the most prolific blue-liners in the league and has totaled 35 points (eight goals, 27 assists) for the season across 42 outings.

Roman Josi Leads The Way For Nashville In Sunday's Win

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi factored in all three goals as the team cooled off the Jets with a 3-2 victory on Sunday. Josi scored Nashville's second goal and had two assists, including one on the power play, as the Predators jumped to a three-goal lead. As usual, Josi kept himself busy on the other side of the puck as well, registering two blocks in 22:24 of ice time. The Predators captain boosted his points total to 15 on Sunday, and he has tallied 75 shots and 34 blocks across 20 outings. He's one of the most reliable blue-liners in fantasy hockey and continues to deliver solid two-way production.

Roman Josi Will Remain Out Tuesday

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi (upper body) is close to returning to action but will have to skip another game Tuesday versus Boston. He is trying to come back from an upper-body injury and has missed five games because of the ailment. However, Josi has joined the team for a brief two-game road trip that starts Tuesday night, so it looks like he could be an option in the next game Thursday versus Pittsburgh. The Predators captain has totaled a team-high 59 points in 67 games during another prolific campaign. His eventual return will mean a demotion from the first power-play unit for Tyson Barrie, who enters Tuesday's contest with a four-game point streak.

Roman Josi Remains Out Tuesday

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi (upper body) will remain on the sidelines for Tuesday's matchup against Buffalo. The Predators captain was forced to miss his first game of the season Sunday against the Rangers and still hasn't recovered from an upper-body injury. Tyson Barrie has taken over Josi's spot on the first power-play unit and will hope to make a big impact Tuesday against a team that has the second-worst penalty kill in the league. Josi's absence has left a big gap to fill on the blue line, but the Predators will at least get some help Tuesday in the form of Ryan McDonagh (upper body), who returns from a four-game absence.

Roman Josi Exits With Injury Saturday

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi exited Saturday's game against Winnipeg with an undisclosed injury. He logged 10:06 of action but didn't feature at all after the first period. The Predators captain is still being evaluated and the team is expected to provide an update on him Sunday. Josi is Nashville's leading scorer and best player, so losing him would obviously be a huge blow. He has racked up 18 goals and 41 assists in 67 games with 269 shots and 146 blocks. Tyson Barrie will take over duties on the first power-play unit if Josi has to spend some time on the sidelines, while Jeremy Lauzon would also be set for a much larger role.

Roman Josi Has Two Assists In Thursday's Win

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi collected two assists as the team stayed hot with a 2-1 victory over Florida Thursday. He combined with Luke Evangelista to help Matt Duchene get the scoring started in a power-play situation and set up John Leonard for the eventual game-winner. The Predators have been selling assets and there have been a number of big injury blows, but the team has remained in the playoff race and that's mostly down to Josi's form. He's seventh in scoring among defensemen with 56 points in 59 games, and Josi's production has been ridiculous during the team's current 5-2-0 run, as the Predators captain has racked up four goals and eight assists in the seven games.

Roman Josi Pushes Point Streak To Six Games

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi scored a power-play goal in Monday's 4-2 loss to Arizona, extending his point streak to six games. As usual, the Predators captain kept himself very busy all night, recording five shots on goal, one block and one hit in 28:03 of action. Josi is on pace for his second consecutive 70-point campaign, sitting currently on 13 goals and 31 assists with 51 games played. Only three active defensemen have achieved the feat, with Washington's John Carlson being the last one to do it in 2018-19 and 2019-20.

Roman Josi Becomes Nashville's All-Time Leading Scorer

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi had a historic night against Chicago on Wednesday, becoming the team's all-time leading scorer with a two-point effort in a 4-2 win. He had a goal and a power-play assist in the third period to move past David Legwand on the scoring list. Josi has now produced 567 points in 791 games for Nashville. The 32-year-old is the second defenseman to lead an active NHL franchise in scoring, joining the legendary Ray Bourque, who managed 1,506 points with Boston. The Predators captain has been slumping a bit lately, but the whole team has gone through a tricky period, and Josi should regain his form once Nashville finds its groove again. Having recorded back-to-back wins, the team has started to pick up momentum.

Roman Josi Bags Two Power-Play Points

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi picked up two points as the team beat the Islanders 4-1 on Friday. He had a power-play goal in the second period, which ended up as the game-winner, and Josi also posted a power-play assist in the contest. The Predators captain led his team with five shots on goal and registered four blocks in 24:04 of ice time with a plus-one rating. Nashville has heated up, going 7-2-1 across the last 10 games, and the team's improved form has also given a lift to Josi's numbers, as he has tallied four goals and nine assists in the games. The 2020 Norris Trophy winner is once again among the top-scoring defenseman, having recorded 20 points in 23 games.

Roman Josi Picks Up Two Points Monday

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi netted a goal and added an assist beating Arizona 4-3 in a shootout Monday. Jossi's fourth goal of the season came on a Predators power play early in the third period. He seems to be improving with each game, adding eight points in the last five games after a slow start to the season. Suppose a fantasy manager is lucky enough to have Jossi on their roster. Don't worry about his slow start, as he is one of the most offensively gifted defensemen in the league.

Roman Josi Heating Up Quickly

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi extended his point streak to four with an exclamation mark on Thursday, dishing out four helpers to help his team to a 5-4 win over the New York Islanders. After a cold start where he had only seven points in his first 13 games, he has seven in his last four. That brings him up to three goals and 11 assists on the season, and although he hasn't matched his insane pace from last season, he is once again looking like one of the best offensive defensemen in the NHL. He also has 68 shots, 14 hits, and 41 blocks to help out in the peripherals. The buy-low window on Josi looks to have closed.

Roman Josi Named Norris Trophy Finalist

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi has been named one of the finalists for the Norris Trophy award on Monday as the NHL's best all-around defenseman for the 2021-22 season. Josi led all defenseman in scoring with 96 points this season, as he totaled 23 goals and 73 assists through 80 games. The Predators captain became the first defenseman to finish with 90-plus points in a season since Ray Bourque with the Bruins in 1993-94. Josi won the Norris Trophy following the 2019-20 regular season and his incredible performance means that he could very well win the award for a second time.

Roman Josi Sets New Predators Points Record

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi had his second consecutive three-point game on Thursday against Ottawa and set a new franchise record for most points scored in a single season. He had three assists in a 3-2 win to reach 87 points, moving past Paul Kariya, who held the record since 2005-06 with 85 points. Josi's previous career-high stood at 65 games, so it's been a spectacular year for him, and with Nashville still having 12 games to go, the Swiss rearguard has every chance to hit 100 points for the campaign. Only five blue-liners in NHL history have managed to collect at least 100 points in a season.

Roman Josi On A Red-Hot Streak

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi is having the best season of his career this year. He currently leads all NHL defensemen in points by a wide margin. He has been particularly hot over the last nine games, scoring 22 points over that span. The 31-year-old veteran is making a strong case for the Hart Trophy. His 75 points this year have him 12 points ahead of the nearest Predators player. Josi plays more than 25 minutes per game in all situations and is the biggest reason the Predators are firmly in a playoff spot at this point in the year. Right now, Josi is the top-ranked fantasy defenseman and is highly recommended to trade for in fantasy.

Roman Josi Reaches 500 Career Points

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi hit a big milestone in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Seattle, registering 500 career points during a two-assist performance. His work helped Nashville to grab a 2-0 lead, but the team ended up throwing it away already in the second period. Josi became the fifth blue-liner from the 2008 draft class to get to 500 career points and no other draft in NHL history has produced as many defensemen with 500 points. He joined Erik Karlsson, Drew Doughty, John Carlson and Alex Pietrangelo. The Predators captain has tallied 55 points this season, and he's battling it out with Cale Makar and Adam Fox for the top-scoring defenseman honors.
