Jayden Struble Fantasy Stats

The Nashville Predators have acquired defenseman Jayden Struble from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a 2027 second-round draft pick. The Predators expect Struble to add "mobility and a hard-to-play-against quality" to the team's defense. Struble, who turned 25 a month ago, is in the second season of a two-year, $2.825 million contract. He was limited to 12:05 of ice time per game in three appearances with the Canadiens this season. Nashville clearly rates him higher, and there's an opening on the backline after William Trudeau (upper body) was injured. However, even after moving to Music City, Struble is unlikely to make a big enough impact to warrant fantasy consideration.

Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jayden Struble signed a two-year, $2.825 million contract on Monday. The 23-year-old restricted free agent had a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for Aug. 3 before reaching a new deal with the Canadiens, who selected him in the second round of the 2019 draft. Struble has just finished his second NHL campaign, registering 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) and 124 hits in 56 appearances. While the American blue-liner brings physicality to the Canadiens lineup, he needs to improve in other areas to lock down a regular spot in the lineup.

Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jayden Struble found the back of the net in a second consecutive contest in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to Utah. He also collected three blocks in the game and had one hit in 17:11 of ice time. Struble has made 16 consecutive appearances, working mostly on the third defensive pairing. Generally, he's not very productive, sitting on five points (two goals, three assists) through 16 games, with 21 shots, 16 blocks, and 29 hits. Another scoring effort from Struble on Wednesday versus Columbus would put him tied for the longest goal streak in franchise history among defensemen aged 23 or younger.
