New Jersey Devils defenseman Seamus Casey will be back in action on Saturday against the New York Rangers. Per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site, he is expected to replace Simon Nemec in the lineup. The Devils recalled Casey from the minors earlier this week. He has notched 18 points (three goals, 15 assists) in 30 games with the Utica Comets in 2024-25. Casey saw regular action in the big league at the start of the season but has made only a couple of appearances since October. The 21-year-old boasts four goals and five points through his first 10 career NHL outings.
New Jersey Devils defenseman Seamus Casey notched his first career goal and point as the team defeated the Buffalo Sabres 3-1 in Czechia on Saturday. Casey tied the game with a power-play goal in the second period. He finished with two total shots and registered one block across 12:09 of action. Casey logged 3:03 with the man advantage. The games in Prague were Casey's first NHL appearances after he made the roster due to Luke Hughes' (shoulder) absence. He was highly productive in college, and it appears as though Casey won't have problems making a mark in the NHL, either.
