Simon Holmstrom Fantasy Stats

New York Islanders right wing Simon Holmstrom (upper body) won't be available on Tuesday against the Buffalo Sabres and is considered day-to-day, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Holmstrom is one point shy of having his second straight 40-point season. He has tallied 19 goals and 20 assists across 73 outings. As a result of Holmstrom's absence, Mathew Barzal will move back to the first power-play unit. Anthony Duclair will take his spot in the lineup. Things haven't gone well for Duclair in 2025-26, and he isn't a good fantasy option. Barzal's move to the top power-play unit might also have only a limited impact on his fantasy value, as Buffalo is one of the NHL's best penalty-killing teams.

New York Islanders right wing Simon Holmstrom (illness) was on the ice on Wednesday morning and is expected to play against the New York Rangers. The Swedish forward wasn't in the lineup on Monday versus the Philadelphia Flyers due to illness. Holmstrom has finished five of his last six appearances without a point. Still, he's been a solid contributor for the Islanders, tallying 12 goals and 12 assists in 50 outings. Max Shabanov is set to be a healthy scratch against the Rangers, with Holmstrom joining Anders Lee and Jean-Gabriel Pageau on the third line.

New York Islanders right wing Simon Holmstrom (illness) is considered a game-time decision for Monday's meeting with the Philadelphia Flyers. The Swedish forward is battling an illness and could miss his second game of the season. Holmstrom is hoping to post a second consecutive 40-point campaign in 2025-26, sitting on 12 goals and 12 assists through 50 appearances. He has skated with Anthony Duclair and Mathew Barzal on the second line. The Islanders will turn to Maxim Tsyplakov or Calum Ritchie if Holmstrom doesn't feel well enough to play against Philadelphia.

New York Islanders right wing Simon Holmstrom (illness) will come back into the lineup for Thursday's matchup against the Detroit Red Wings. Due to illness, he was forced to miss Tuesday's win over the Dallas Stars. Holmstrom will be reunited with Jonathan Drouin and Mathew Barzal on the second line. The Swedish forward mainly provides defensive balance on the line, recording nine points (four goals, five assists) and 22 blocks in 19 appearances this season. Recent times have been tough for Holmstrom offensively, as he has finished six of his last seven outings without registering a point.

New York Islanders winger Simon Holmstrom has agreed to a two-year contract extension. After signing a one-year deal worth $850,000 last summer, Holmstrom received a substantial pay raise, with his new contract valued at $7.25 million and coming with an average annual value of $3.625 million. The 24-year-old earned the big boost in salary with an impressive campaign. He amassed a career-high 45 points (20 goals, 25 assists) in 75 games. Holmstrom will aim to become a 50-point scorer next season while maintaining a middle-six role.

New York Islanders right wing Simon Holmstrom (upper body) has been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of Saturday's game against San Jose. It looks like he is ready to rejoin the lineup after a seven-game absence. Holmstrom is not known as a regular scorer, but he was enjoying a prolific spell just before getting hurt. The 23-year-old has bagged two goals and seven points over his last seven appearances. For the season overall, Holmstrom has contributed nine goals and 13 assists in 37 games. He is expected to jump on the third line to fill in for Maxim Tsyplakov, who starts a three-game suspension on Saturday.

New York Islanders right wing Simon Holmstrom (upper body) is considered day-to-day. The 23-year-old has been ever-present for the Islanders this season but had to exit the lineup on Tuesday against Toronto because of an upper-body injury. Holmstrom has quietly enjoyed a good campaign, sitting fourth on the team in scoring. He has posted nine goals and 22 points in 37 contests. The Islanders will miss Holmstrom, but Anthony Duclair has just returned to the lineup, giving the team an additional attacking threat.

New York Islanders right wing Simon Holmstrom popped up with a big goal in Wednesday's matchup against Anaheim, scoring a 4-3 game-winning goal in a short-handed situation. He produced the goods with only 1:33 left in regulation, lighting the lamp with his lone effort on goal in the contest. Holmstrom has taken major strides in his game in 2023-24 and already boasts more points (11) in 27 appearances this season than he had last term when the 22-year-old managed six goals and three assists in 50 games. However, the lack of power-play time keeps Holmstrom's fantasy value very limited.

New York Islanders forward Simon Holmstrom could skate on the club's top line for Saturday's season opener at home versus the Buffalo Sabres. The 22-year-old skated with Bo Horvat and Mathew Barzal on the top unit in Thursday's practice and could very well end up skating with the club's top two offensive players to begin the season. A 2019 first-round draft pick, Holmstrom tallied six goals and nine points in 50 games with the Islanders last season while also notching three goals and five points across 16 games with the club's American Hockey League affiliate in Bridgeport. The Swede is certainly well off the fantasy radar for the time being, but he is certainly getting a big opportunity at the outset of the 2023-24 season.

New York Islanders right wing Simon Holmstrom won't play in Wednesday's matchup against Montreal. The 21-year-old has been sharp offensively as of late with a run of three points in three games, but he will be a healthy scratch for Wednesday's contest, with Justin Bailey coming in to replace Holmstrom. Bailey had been in and out of the lineup all season, appearing in 63 games. He has totaled eight goals and 17 assists in the limited action. The 33-year-old will hope to end a five-game scoreless spell Wednesday.
