According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, Montreal Canadiens left wing Emil Heineman (upper body) will not travel with the team on their upcoming road trip. The Canadiens will begin their three-game west-coast road trip on Sunday evening in Anaheim and will then make stops in San Jose and Los Angeles. This will give Heineman two other opportunities to return on February 8 and 9 before the international break. The 23-year-old suffered this injury in a road accident earlier this month and has missed the previous nine contests. Through his first full NHL campaign, Heineman has found the back of the net 10 times and added seven helpers across 41 games. He made just four appearances last season. Michael Pezzetta is expected to remain in the lineup for the time being.
Emil Heineman To Miss 3-4 Weeks After Being Hit By Car
Montreal Canadiens left wing Emil Heineman (upper body) will miss 3-4 weeks of action after being involved in a traffic accident. Ahead of Montreal's game against the Utah Hockey Club, Heineman was struck by a car while walking in downtown Salt Lake City on Monday. Heineman, who has tallied 10 goals and 17 points in 41 appearances this season, is set to miss at least 11 games. Michael Pezzetta will likely rejoin the lineup as Heineman's replacement on Tuesday. Pezzetta has averaged only 6:25 of ice time for the season and should remain on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.
