Ryan Pulock, Adam Pelech Game-Time Decisions Monday

New York Islanders defensemen Ryan Pulock (lower body) and Adam Pelech (head) are both listed as game-time decisions for the team's return to action Monday versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. Pulock has missed the past 24 games due to a lower-body injury suffered in a Dec. 7 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. He returned to practice on Sunday and took part in Monday's morning skate as well. Pelech has missed just one game after taking an elbow to the head from Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher on Jan. 25. Gallagher was suspended five games for the incident. "I feel good. I took it easy and rest up over the [All-Star] break," Pelech said. The Islanders sit fourth in the Metropolitan Division with a 20-17-12 record, but their minus-23 goal differential is the fourth-worst mark in the Eastern Conference.

Adam Pelech Good To Go On Tuesday

New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech (upper body) has come off Injured Reserve and is set to return to the lineup Tuesday versus Vancouver. Pelech has missed 20 games with an upper-body injury. The 29-year-old has contributed three assists in 16 games this season, with 16 shots on goal and 28 blocks. He's not a great fantasy piece, but Pelech's return will be a boost for the Islanders blue line, which lost Ryan Pulock (lower body) a month ago and has also been without Robert Bortuzzo (lower body) in recent games. Pelech will skate with Scott Mayfield on the second defensive pairing.

Adam Pelech A Game-Time Call For Monday's Contest

New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech (lower body) could be back in action Monday versus Edmonton, with the team regarding him as a game-time decision for the match. Pelec has missed three of the last four games. If he's ready to return, Pelec will likely push Samuel Bolduc out of the lineup. However, fantasy managers shouldn't expect a lot from him, as Pelech has no goals in 10 appearances this season and only has one assist to show for his offensive efforts.

Adam Pelech Out On Saturday

New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech (lower body) will be absent Saturday against Carolina. He exited Thursday's battle with the Capitals due to a lower-body injury and will be forced to sit out his first game of the season. Pelech has been skating on the second defensive pairing, recording one assist in nine games with 10 shots, 20 blocks, 12 hits, and a plus-two rating. Samuel Bolduc will enter the lineup in his absence.

Adam Pelech Hurt Against Washington

New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech suffered an undisclosed injury in Thursday's matchup against the Capitals. He played only a handful of minutes and was seen holding his side as he exited the game. The team hasn't yet announced the severity of the issue. Pelech has been ever present for the Islanders so far, posting one assist in nine games with 10 shots on net, 20 blocks, 12 hits, and a plus-two rating. If he can't play in Saturday's contest versus the Hurricanes, Samuel Bolduc looks set to re-enter the lineup. He gave up his spot Thursday to Scott Mayfield, who returned from a lower-body injury.

Adam Pelech Ready To Return

New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech (head) has been activated from Injured Reserve and appears set to return to the lineup Monday against Toronto. He's been unavailable since early December when Pelech suffered a head injury in practice. Pelech is returning at a good time because Noah Dobson (undisclosed) might be unavailable Monday. Offensively, Pelech provides very little for fantasy managers, but he's a rock defensively and even leads the team with a plus-12 rating. In 27 games, Pelech has notched 11 points with 35 shots on goal, 39 hits and 41 blocks.

Adam Pelech Exits With Injury

New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech suffered an upper-body injury in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to St. Louis, leaving the game four minutes before the final buzzer. He was driven into the boards behind the Islanders net by St. Louis' Robert Bortuzzo and Pelech appeared to have hit the back of his head on the boards. The team didn't have an update on his status after the game. Pelech has done a good job for the Islanders all over the ice this season, posting 11 points with 39 hits and 41 blocks in 27 games. He's been on the top defensive pairing with Ryan Pulock and the two have complemented each other well.

Adam Pelech Locks Down Long-Term Extension

The New York Islanders have announced an agreement with defenseman Adam Pelech to keep one of the team's core players on Long Island for the next eight seasons. Pelech's pay-day comes in the form of a $46 million contract ($5.75 million average annual value). The 26-year-old, who was a restricted free agent, has developed into one of the game's top defensive rearguards over the past few seasons and has become a staple into turning the Islanders into one of the league's best defensive teams. Pelech registered 14 points (four goals, 10 assists), a plus-15 rating, 82 shots, 73 blocks and 66 hits in 56 games in 2020-2021. Due to his limited ability in the offensive zone, Pelech most likely caps out as a depth defenseman in deeper fantasy formats.
