Matias Maccelli Extends Scoring Streak With Three-Point Outing

Arizona Coyotes left wing Matias Maccelli led all scorers with three points in Friday's 5-3 win over the Senators. He produced a pair of power-play assists and capped off the scoring with an empty-net goal. Arizona was stuck on a 14-game losing streak ahead of Friday's action, but Maccelli has found ways to stay productive during the team's bad spell, and Friday marked his fifth consecutive outing with at least one point. He's had three goals and four assists in total during the run. Maccelli is close to setting his new scoring record, having collected 43 points (11 goals, 32 assists) through 60 games. Clayton Keller (upper body) is the lone Coyote with more points than him this season.

Matias Maccelli Notches Two Assists Sunday

Arizona Coyotes left wing Matias Maccelli registered two assists in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Colorado. Maccelli's playmaking helped the Coyotes grab the lead twice, but the Avalanche still found a way to win. Maccelli's first helper came in a power-play situation. The talented winger has totaled 28 assists for the entire campaign and boasts 36 points through 54 outings. However, Maccelli has notched only five points since the turn of the year as the Coyotes have started to struggle -- they have lost nine games in a row, averaging only 2.22 goals over the stretch.

Matias Maccelli "OK" After Thursday's Exit

Arizona Coyotes left wing Matias Maccelli (upper body) isn't expected to miss a lot of time, with Coyotes insider Craig Morgan noting that he's going to be "OK" after the talented winger took a puck to the face in Thursday's contest versus Columbus. Maccelli needed major dental work to get himself fixed, but he should be ready for action soon. However, it's unclear if he's good to go on Saturday against the Jets. The Coyotes will be desperate to have him in the lineup after also losing Barrett Hayton (upper body) Thursday night. Maccelli has posted the fourth-most points among Coyotes forwards this season, scoring two goals and registering nine assists in 16 appearances.

Arizona Coyotes forward Matias Maccelli exited Thursday's contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets and will not return after taking a puck to the face. He is seeing nearly identical usage this season as he did last year with 15:47 of average ice time per game in a middle-six role. He could potentially be out short-term depending on the severity of the injury to his mouth.

Matias Maccelli Returns With Two Assists

Arizona Coyotes left wing Matias Maccelli was back in the lineup Sunday against Minnesota, and he returned with a bang, handing out two assists in a 4-3 defeat. The 22-year-old had sat out a pair of games as a healthy scratch. Maccelli has shown some very good upside this season, posting 13 points in 18 games. Only Seattle's Matty Beniers (15) has managed more among all first-year players in the league. The Coyotes are on their way to having another poor season and the team is giving its youngsters plenty of opportunities to shine. Maccelli has benefitted from it, and managers in deeper leagues should definitely an eye on him.
