Full Stack Software Developer

Description

This a rare opportunity to work for an established company in the fantasy sports industry! We have a casual work environment and flexibility to work remotely part time.

FantasyData is looking for a full stack software developer, who is looking to grow into a lead role within organization a young, dynamic and growing. The candidate should have a deep understanding of professional sports, fantasy sports, and commercial APIs. A passion for sports and fantasy sports is an absolute must, because who wouldn’t love to work in the fantasy sports industry?

This individual will be responsible for maintaining and developing SQL Server databases housing sports information, such as player information, game scores, team/player stats, projected stats, daily fantasy salaries, and more. A deep understanding of the .NET framework will be necessary to maintain and develop data collection and data entry applications. Knowledge of ASP.NET and WCF web services is also important, as this individual will be required to maintain, develop and scale the consumer-facing company website (https://fantasydata.com/) and client-facing commercial API (https://developer.fantasydata.com).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical customer support for clients who are integrating with a WFC commercial API
  • Develop and maintain client-facing WFC API and FantasyData developer portal
  • Develop and maintain data collection applications, including parsing XML/JSON feeds from data partners
  • Develop and maintain web-based data entry/monitoring applications, for internal use, to manage sports databases and customer/product databases
  • Develop and maintain consumer-facing website (fantasydata.com)
  • Maintain cloud-based server infrastructure on Rackspace, AWS and Azure
  • Source code must be meticulously maintained to maximize readability and code cleanliness
  • Self starter with the ability to work remotely on a part-time basis
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment or individually
  • Willingness to be available on nights and weekends for remote production support (remote)
  • Opportunity to grow into lead development role over time

Qualifications

  • 3+ years work experience, experience in the sports industry is a plus
  • Passion for fantasy sports, candidate should eat, sleep, and breathe sports
  • Knowledge of .NET framework, VB.NET and C#
  • Knowledge of ASP.NET and WFC is a must
  • Knowledge of Entity Framework is critical
  • Experience with modern web development is a must (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery)
  • Experience with data feeds, such as XML, JSON and CSV is a must
  • Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
  • Knowledge of Bootstrap and Angular is a plus
  • Knowledge of MVC is a plus
  • Experience in a startup environment is a plus
  • Experience with other programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, PHP, etc) is a plus

Sports Data Entry (Work from Home)

Description

We are always looking for high quality individuals, who love sports, to watch games and track stats in our data entry platform. If you are looking for part-time hours that include mostly evenings and weekends, and you love sports, then this may be the perfect position for you!

Responsibilities

  • Input scores and stats for scheduled games into a web-based data entry platform
  • Ensure all data is accurate and monitor the output of the content on FantasyData.com and various client websites and/or mobile apps
  • Reports any concerns or issues to management in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Able to manage multiple games under specific constraints
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Knowledge of web/mobile technology
  • Knowledge of sports (NFL, MLB)
  • Solid keyboard skills a must
  • Solid communication and time-management skills
  • Varying shifts, both evenings and weekends
  • Completion of high school required
