John Rave Recalled from Triple-A Omaha

Kansas City Royals outfielder John Rave was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday after Kyle Isbel (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list. The 27-year-old debuted with the team in late May, logging 156 plate appearances before being sent down in late August. During his time in the majors, the left-handed slugger hit just .199, but was able to walk at a 10.3 percent rate, hit four home runs, and steal seven bases in his limited action. Even so, the former fifth-round draft pick is not a viable fantasy option as he'll likely just get sporadic starts down the stretch, so he's best left on the waiver wire.

John Rave Joins MLB Roster

The Kansas City Royals announced on Monday that they selected the contract of outfielder John Rave from Triple-A Omaha and optioned infielder Cavan Biggio to Omaha in a corresponding move. Rave will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game after hitting .301/.382/.549 with a .931 OPS, nine home runs, eight doubles, four triples, 25 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 46 runs scored in 44 games for Omaha before his call-up. The 27-year-old will serve as outfielder depth for the Royals for the time being behind Kyle Isbel in center field and Drew Waters and Mark Canha in right field. Biggio will head to the minors after hitting just .174/.296/.246 with a home run, four RBI, nine runs scored and a stolen base in 69 at-bats as a utility player for the Royals to open the 2025 season.
