Isaac Collins Getting First Postseason Start

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Isaac Collins will move into the starting lineup for the first time this postseason. Collins came off the bench twice during the NLDS versus the Chicago Cubs. He'll now enter the lineup for the first time as he'll bat eighth and start in left field against left-hander Blake Snell. Collins slashed .263/.368/.411 with nine home runs, 54 RBI, and 16 stolen bases in 130 games during the regular season. On Monday, Sal Frelick will move over to center field while Blake Perkins heads to the bench.

Isaac Collins Takes a Seat on Saturday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Isaac Collins is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Collins will head to the bench for the third time in the last five games. He's currently in an 0-for-13 slump at the plate, so it's not surprising to see Collins seeing more time on the bench. Jake Bauers will take over in left field while Andrew Vaughn covers first base during Saturday's game. Collins doesn't offer enough upside at the plate right now to warrant rostering in most fantasy formats.

Isaac Collins Reinstated From Paternity List

The Milwaukee Brewers announced that they have reinstated outfielder Isaac Collins (personal) from the paternity list and optioned infielder Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville. Collins is back after missing the Brewers' weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds, but he is not in the lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader versus the Chicago Cubs on Monday. Christian Yelich is in left field, Collins' typical spot, and hitting cleanup in a meeting with right-hander Cade Horton. The 28-year-old Collins has emerged as one of many standouts for a Milwaukee team that owns the majors' best record (78-45). He has slashed .288/.384/.448 with eight homers, 41 RBI, 48 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases in 331 plate appearances.

Isaac Collins Hits Third Home Run, Eyes Bigger Role on Brewers

Brewers outfielder Isaac Collins launched his third home run of the season in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs. Collins opened the scoring with a two-run, 388-foot blast to right field in the second inning. The 27-year-old switch-hitter finished the game 2-for-4, adding a double in the fourth. Collins is slashing .242/.349/.375 in his second year in the big leagues, carrying a .724 OPS and a .327 wOBA. He has shown improved plate discipline with a 12.7 walk percentage and a 27.6 whiff percentage, down from 40 percent last season. Collins will look to continue earning solid playing time for a competitive Brewers team.

Isaac Collins Sitting Again On Sunday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Isaac Collins will start Sunday's series finale against the hosting Tampa Bay Rays on the bench for the second time in the weekend series. The left-handed-hitting Jake Bauers will start in left field for the Brew Crew and will hit seventh against Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen. Collins, who hits from both sides of the plate, has gone hitless in his last three games and has gone 4-for-21 (.190) with five walks and nine strikeouts in eight games played in May. The 27-year-old could lose more playing time to Bauers against right-handed pitchers after starting the year hitting .237/.338/.356 with a homer, two RBI, three steals and seven runs scored. Bauers has been slightly better with a .250/.345/.479 slash line, three homers, 11 RBI, two steals and seven runs. In five career at-bats against Rasmussen, he's also hit .400 with an .800 OPS.

Jake Bauers, Isaac Collins Make Opening Day Roster

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder/first baseman Jake Bauers and outfielder Isaac Collins have made the team's Opening Day roster, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. Bauers, 29, hit .263 (10-for-38) with four doubles, three home runs, nine RBI and two stolen bases in 15 Cactus League games to earn a spot as a bench bat for the Brew Crew to open the 2025 season. The left-handed hitter does provide a little pop -- he has 51 long balls and 183 RBI in five major-league seasons -- but he swings and misses too much to provide a useful average, and he will need some injuries to occur to see regular playing time. Bauers will provide depth at first, in the outfield and at designated hitter. Collins, 27, will be another utility player for Milwaukee with the ability to play outfield, second and third base. He had an .861 OPS with 14 homers and 24 steals in 2024 for Triple-A Nashville.
