The Texas Rangers have demoted infield prospect Justin Foscue to Triple-A Round Rock. The club's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline was recalled last week and went 1-for-17 with limited playing time. Without much of an opening in the Rangers lineup, it made the most sense for Foscue to get everyday at-bats in Round Rock. The infielder dealt with an oblique injury that has sidelined him for most of the season, but he is a valuable utilityman when healthy. He can still get a chance with the Rangers later this summer, but managers shouldn't expect much out of him without a frequent role in the lineup.

Foscue is only a stash candidate in dynasty/keeper leagues for his power -- he hit a career-high 18 homers at Round Rock in 2023.

As he continues his rehab assignment it will be interesting to see if a spot opens for him at the major league level. First, he will have to show he is back to full health, but any potential return to the big leagues could be in a utility role.
