Noah Cameron Turns in Another Strong Outing, Profiles as a Top Waiver-Wire Target

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Noah Cameron delivered a quality performance in his team's 2-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday, allowing one earned run, one walk, and six hits while striking out five across 5 2/3 innings of work. The 26-year-old is off to a strong start to the 2026 season, as he's allowed just two earned runs and two walks and racked up 10 strikeouts across 10 2/3 innings (two starts). Cameron made his MLB debut for the Royals in 2025 and pitched well, logging a 2.99 ERA and 1.10 WHIP across 138 1/3 innings. Still, he posted a subpar 20.5% strikeout rate, and his 84% strand rate made him a prime regression candidate. Thus far in 2026, Cameron has backed up his rookie season production, albeit in a small sample size. His next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Chicago White Sox, so fantasy managers in leagues with weekly pickups will get another chance to see Cameron before he hits the waiver wire.

Can Noah Cameron Repeat His Breakout 2025 Season?

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Noah Cameron burst onto the scene as a rookie in 2025, recording a 9-7 record with a 2.99 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 114 strikeouts across 138 1/3 innings pitched (24 starts). Cameron's ability to rack up whiffs left something to be desired for fantasy managers, as he posted just a 20.5% strikeout rate. The 26-year-old's underlying metrics also suggest that he could be in line for some regression in 2026, as he significantly outperformed his xERA (4.08) and FIP (4.18) in 2025. At the same time, Cameron logged significantly better strikeout numbers during his time in the minor leagues, recording a 27.8% strikeout rate across 128 2/3 innings split between Double-A and Triple-A in 2024. If Cameron can add some swing-and-miss to his repertoire in 2026, it could help mitigate the regression that may be coming for his ERA and WHIP. As an innings-eater at the back end of a fantasy pitching staff, Cameron has a chance to provide solid value in 2026.

Royals' Noah Cameron, Ryan Bergert, and Stephen Kolek Drawing Interest

The Kansas City Royals' starting pitchers Noah Cameron, Ryan Bergert, and Stephen Kolek are drawing interest from several teams, according to Anne Rogers of MLB.com. The St. Louis Cardinals have specifically checked in on Cameron, who posted a 2.99 ERA (4.33 SIERA) with a 12.8 K-BB% across 138 1/3 innings last season. While Rogers did not specify which clubs are eyeing Bergert and Kolek, it's reasonable to assume that neither pitcher would fetch a significant return. In 2025, Bergert recorded a 3.66 ERA (4.62 SIERA) with an 11.8 K-BB% over 76 1/3 innings, while Kolek logged a 3.51 ERA (4.39 SIERA) with a 10.0 K-BB% across 112 2/3 innings.

Noah Cameron to Start on Thursday

Kansas City Royals left-hander Noah Cameron will start against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday, manager Matt Quatraro announced. The Royals had planned to start righty Seth Lugo (back), but he's dealing with tightness in his lower back and will need at least a couple of days to recover. With Lugo unavailable, the Royals will turn to Cameron, who has been one of the majors' best rookie pitchers this season. The 26-year-old has gone 7-6 with a 2.92 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP, and 83:31 K:BB over 19 starts and 108 innings. Cameron appears to have a favorable matchup against the Angels' offense, which ranks 21st in the league in runs and has sputtered over the past few weeks.

Noah Cameron Strikes Out Eight on Sunday

Kansas City Royals pitching prospect Noah Cameron was dominant in his most recent outing on Sunday afternoon against the New York Mets. In this outing, Cameron was given a no-decision as he tossed 6 2/3 shutout innings. He allowed seven hits and served up two free passes. He matched a season-high eight strikeouts. Since allowing five runs to the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 27, the southpaw has found his footing, logging 18 1/3 innings (three starts) to the tune of a stellar 0.98 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. Through 70 total innings in the major leagues, the rookie has held his own, posting a 2.31 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP. During this stretch, he has struck out 58 batters while posting an above-average 8.0% walk rate. Given his strong debut, he will likely remain in the Kansas City rotation during the entire second half.

Noah Cameron Throws Five Shutout Innings

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Noah Cameron struck out seven over five shutout innings in a 3-2 loss to the Athletics. He allowed four hits and one walk. This was a nice bounce-back outing after giving up six runs in his last time out against the Yankees. Besides that one bad start, Cameron has allowed one run or less in all six of his other starts. The 25-year-old has been excellent to begin his big league career, posting a 1.91 ERA and .90 WHIP with 32 strikeouts in 42 innings. He'll look to keep things going in his next start, which is currently scheduled to be against the Padres.

Noah Cameron Making Another Start on Tuesday

Kansas City Royals rookie left-hander Noah Cameron will remain in the team's starting rotation for at least one more turn and face off against the visiting New York Yankees at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday. The Royals are going with a six-man rotation for the time being after left-hander Cole Ragans returns from a stint on the injured list recently. Cameron, 25, has been outstanding for KC in his first five MLB starts, allowing only three earned runs on 15 hits (two homers) while walking 10 and striking out 19 in 31 2/3 innings pitched. However, his lack of control and 3.64 FIP how that he's been pretty fortunate to get away with a 0.85 ERA to this point. The young southpaw will look to keep things rolling this week, but fantasy managers should consider better streaming options than Cameron against the first-place Yankees.

Noah Cameron Tosses Six Shutout Frames on Thursday

Kansas City Royals left-handed pitching prospect Noah Cameron continued his incredible start to his MLB career on Thursday. Facing the St. Louis Cardinals, the southpaw tossed six shutout frames with two hits and two free passes. He struck out three. Through his first 31 2/3 innings in the majors, Cameron has posted a stellar 0.85 ERA with a 0.79 WHIP. Across this stretch, he has struck out just 19 batters but allowed just two long balls. While the 25-year-old has looked quite strong, his underlying metrics suggest he could be due for some regression. He currently sits with a 3.19 xERA and a .230 xBA. In addition, he has allowed hard contact at a modest 40.0% rate. With Cole Ragans back in action, the Royals could opt to send Cameron back to Triple-A to continue his development or shift Michael Lorenzen to a long relief role. However, given his productive start, fantasy managers should continue to hold Cameron on their bench as he will likely be given more opportunities in the major leagues.

Noah Cameron Posts Another Solid Outing

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Noah Cameron tossed 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball in Wednesday's 3-2 win against the Cincinnati Reds. The rookie yielded six hits while striking out and walking two to notch his fourth straight quality start -- improving to 2-1. He was again solid, as he's allowed one earned run or fewer and gone more than six innings in each of his first four starts. Cameron may not miss many bats, but the 6.52 K/9 he bolstered heading into this start is much lower than the 10.42 he held last season. He may be slightly out-pitching his 1.05 ERA and 0.82 WHIP, but an xERA of 2.89 says regression may not hit him too hard. He'll look to keep the impressive start to his career going his next time out -- next week on the road against the St. Louis Cardinals. However, it's worth mentioning that's not a guarantee with teammate Seth Lugo (finger) set to return from the IL.

Noah Cameron Set to Make Spot Start on Saturday

Kansas City Royals left-handed pitching prospect Noah Cameron is set to make a spot start on Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Cameron will take the spot of Seth Lugo (finger), who is being given the weekend off due to inflammation in his right finger. Cameron made his MLB debut earlier this season and performed very well, tossing six 1/3 one-hit innings against the Athletics. In this start, he struck out three batters and walked five. Through 32 2/3 innings at Triple-A this season, the southpaw has posted a 3.31 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP. He has tallied 38 punchouts and walked 13 batters. Fantasy managers in deeper formats should view Cameron as a viable streaming option given his strong debut, but should not expect him to remain on the MLB roster following this start.
