Wyatt Langford Returning to Sunday's Lineup

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (ankle, foot) is starting in left field and batting second in Sunday's contest at home against the division-rival Seattle Mariners and right-hander Logan Gilbert, according to MLB.com. Langford fouled a couple of pitches off his left ankle/foot during Saturday's win over Seattle before he was pulled as a precaution after six innings. Thankfully, X-rays came back negative for any fractures. The 24-year-old former fourth overall pick from the University of Florida in 2023 went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and two runs scored in Saturday's game before departing. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups in all traditional leagues now that he's back in action on Sunday. After his strong performance on Saturday, Langford is now slashing .290/.335/.533 with an .868 OPS, 12 home runs, 29 RBI, 34 runs scored, and seven stolen bases in his 210 at-bats in 2026. He can't seem to escape nagging injuries, but when healthy, Langford is one of the better power/speed outfielders in fantasy.

Wyatt Langford's X-Rays Come Back Negative, Could Play on Sunday

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (ankle, foot) said X-rays came back negative after he suffered a left-ankle/foot injury in Saturday's game against the division-rival Seattle Mariners, and he expects to be fine for Sunday's game, according to Jeff Wilson of DLLS Sports. Fantasy managers should consider the 24-year-old right-handed slugger to be day-to-day for now. Given Langford's already lengthy injury history early in his MLB career, we would not be surprised if the Rangers hold him out of Sunday's contest against Seattle. If Langford is held out on Sunday, his next chance to return to action would be for Monday's series finale against the Mariners. Langford, a former first-rounder, has already missed 52 of a possible 104 games in 2026 due to various injuries, so the Rangers probably won't push him to play on Sunday. In his third year in the big leagues, Langford is hitting a strong .290 (61-for-210) with 12 home runs, 29 RBI, 34 runs scored, and seven stolen bases in 52 games across 224 plate appearances. His power/speed upside makes him roster-worthy in all fantasy formats.

Wyatt Langford Activated and Starting on Thursday

The Texas Rangers announced on Thursday that they activated outfielder Wyatt Langford (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Josh Smith to Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. Langford is serving as the designated hitter and is batting second for Thursday's series finale at home against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels and left-hander Reid Detmers. The 24-year-old former fourth overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft out of the University of Florida will return to the Rangers' lineup without having gone on a minor-league rehab assignment after missing under two weeks with a strained left hamstring. Fantasy managers will want to get the power/speed threat back in their starting lineups right away. Injuries have been the story of Langford's career to this point in his third MLB season. He's been good when healthy in 2026, hitting .278/.324/.500 with an .824 OPS, eight home runs, 20 RBI, 23 runs scored, and six stolen bases across 40 games and 173 plate appearances. Langford has hit .200 with a homer and two RBI in just five career at-bats against Detmers.

Wyatt Langford Hoping to Return Before the All-Star Break

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (hamstring) ran at high intensity on Tuesday and is hoping to come off the 10-day injured list before the All-Star break next week, according to Jeff Wilson of DLLS Sports. Just a few weeks ago, the Rangers said that Langford wouldn't return before the break, so he has exceeded expectations during his rehab. He's recovering from a strained left hamstring and would have to skip a minor-league rehab assignment if he's going to return this week/weekend. The 24-year-old former fourth overall pick out of the University of Florida in the 2023 MLB draft continues to be plagued by injuries early in his career, but his high-end power/speed potential keeps him stash-worthy while he rehabs yet another injury. In 40 games and 173 plate appearances so far in 2026 in his third big-league season, Langford has hit .278/.324/.500 with an .824 OPS, eight home runs, 20 RBI, 23 runs scored, and six stolen bases. Langford had his first 20-20 season (22 homers and 22 steals) in just 134 games and 573 plate appearances in his second full MLB campaign.

Wyatt Langford Placed on Injured List With Hamstring Strain

The Texas Rangers announced on Sunday that they placed outfielder Wyatt Langford (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring and activated outfielder Evan Carter (oblique) from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. The oft-injured Langford is back on the IL for the second time in 2026 after already missing around six weeks with a strained forearm. The 24-year-old former fourth overall pick out of the University of Florida in 2023 carries plenty of power/speed intrigue, but his inability to stay healthy has really become a nuisance for his fantasy managers. In his 162 at-bats this year, Langford has hit a strong .278/.324/.500 with an .824 OPS, eight home runs, 20 RBI, 23 runs scored, and six stolen bases, making him stash-worthy in nearly all fantasy leagues while he recovers. Given his injury history, nobody should be expecting Langford to return before the mid-July All-Star break. Alejandro Osuna is starting in left field for Texas in their series finale on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays, and he should be in for an uptick in playing time against righties with Langford back on the shelf. UPDATE: Manager Skip Schumaker said that Langford will stay on the IL through the All-Star break, per MLB.com's Kennedi Landry.

Wyatt Langford Scratched on Saturday With Hamstring Tightness

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (hamstring) has been scratched from the starting lineup for Saturday night's game in Toronto against the Blue Jays due to tightness in his left hamstring, according to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. With Langford starting on the bench, Jarred Kelenic got the start in left field and is hitting sixth against Blue Jays right-hander Dylan Cease. It's yet another injury for Langford, who continues to deal with nagging injuries of all kinds. It's unclear how serious his hamstring injury is, though, so for now, we'll consider the right-handed slugger day-to-day. Fantasy managers will need to check back on Sunday to see if Langford is active for the series finale at the Rogers Centre. Since returning from a forearm injury on June 5, Langford has been money for fantasy managers, going 26-for-82 (.317) with seven home runs, five doubles, 16 RBI, 14 runs scored, and three stolen bases in 20 games played. When healthy, the former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of the University of Florida is one of the better young power/speed outfield options in the game.

Wyatt Langford Back From the Injured List

The Texas Rangers announced on Friday that they activated outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) from the 10-day injured list before the series opener at Globe Life Field against the visiting Cleveland Guardians and left-hander Parker Messick. The Rangers are getting a serious boost with the returns of both Langford and shortstop Corey Seager (back) for the start of their series against the Guardians. Langford has been sidelined since late April due to a Grade 1 flexor strain in his right forearm. He hit just .200 with a homer, two RBI, four runs scored, and a steal in 15 plate appearances during his minor-league rehab assignment, but Langford, when right, is one of the more intriguing young power/speed threats in the game. The 24-year-old former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of the University of Florida was hitting just .238 (19-for-80) with a homer and four RBI before going on the IL this year. Durability has become a major concern with Langford, but he did hit 38 homers, drive in 136, and steal 41 bases in 268 games in his first two big-league seasons with the Rangers.

Wyatt Langford Could Start a Rehab Assignment This Weekend

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) said he will take batting practice on Monday with an eye on live batting practice on Friday. If that goes off without a hitch, Langford will likely embark on a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend, according to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Langford has not played with the Rangers since April 21 and had a setback with his right-forearm injury while playing in extended spring training in late April, which is why he's still on the 10-day injured list. The 24-year-old former fourth overall pick out of the University of Florida in 2023 is making good progress of late, though, and could be reinstated from the IL at some point next week if he can avoid another setback this week. Langford still has intriguing power/speed upside despite all of his nagging injuries early in his career. He was hitting .238 (19-for-80) with only one homer in 20 games before his injury this year, but he slashed .247/.335/.423 with a .758 OPS, 38 homers, 136 RBI, and 41 stolen bases in his first two years in the big leagues for Texas.

Wyatt Langford is "Much Healthier Now"

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) threw and hit on Friday for the first time in three weeks, according to Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. Langford will do the same routine for another week or so before going on a minor-league rehab assignment. "It's much healthier now than it was when I was trying to come back the first time," Langford said. The 24-year-old is currently on the 10-day injured list and has not played since April 21 due to right-forearm soreness. Langford already had a setback with his forearm and was pulled from a rehab assignment. It's good news that he's swinging and throwing again, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to return until at least early June. The former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of the University of Florida has high-end power/speed upside in the outfield in Texas, but injuries have been piling up for him early in his career. He has only played in 20 games in 2026 and has hit .238 (19-for-80) with a homer, four RBI, three steals, and nine runs scored across 84 plate appearances. Langford is still rostered in 89% of Yahoo leagues, though, after hitting 38 home runs, driving in 136, and stealing 41 bases in 268 games in his first two years in the majors.

Wyatt Langford Could Resume Swinging Soon

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) will do another forearm strength test on Wednesday, May 20, and if all goes well, he will be cleared to begin swinging a bat two days later and restart his full ramp-up, per MLB.com. Langford has been slow to recover from a Grade 1 right-flexor strain in his forearm after being placed on the 10-day injured list on April 22. He was originally expected to return in mid-May, but at this rate, the power/speed outfielder might be lucky to make it back to the Rangers before the end of the month. The oft-injured former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of the University of Florida made a quick rise to the big leagues and has teased his power/speed skills with 38 homers, 136 RBI, and 41 stolen bases in 268 games in his first two years in the league. Langford has only managed to play in 20 games in 2026, but he remains a must-stash for his multi-category upside in fantasy. He's currently rostered in 88% of Yahoo leagues. If he was dumped by his previous manager, scoop Langford up immediately.
