Wyatt Langford Could Start a Rehab Assignment This Weekend

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) said he will take batting practice on Monday with an eye on live batting practice on Friday. If that goes off without a hitch, Langford will likely embark on a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend, according to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Langford has not played with the Rangers since April 21 and had a setback with his right-forearm injury while playing in extended spring training in late April, which is why he's still on the 10-day injured list. The 24-year-old former fourth overall pick out of the University of Florida in 2023 is making good progress of late, though, and could be reinstated from the IL at some point next week if he can avoid another setback this week. Langford still has intriguing power/speed upside despite all of his nagging injuries early in his career. He was hitting .238 (19-for-80) with only one homer in 20 games before his injury this year, but he slashed .247/.335/.423 with a .758 OPS, 38 homers, 136 RBI, and 41 stolen bases in his first two years in the big leagues for Texas.

Wyatt Langford is "Much Healthier Now"

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) threw and hit on Friday for the first time in three weeks, according to Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. Langford will do the same routine for another week or so before going on a minor-league rehab assignment. "It's much healthier now than it was when I was trying to come back the first time," Langford said. The 24-year-old is currently on the 10-day injured list and has not played since April 21 due to right-forearm soreness. Langford already had a setback with his forearm and was pulled from a rehab assignment. It's good news that he's swinging and throwing again, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to return until at least early June. The former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of the University of Florida has high-end power/speed upside in the outfield in Texas, but injuries have been piling up for him early in his career. He has only played in 20 games in 2026 and has hit .238 (19-for-80) with a homer, four RBI, three steals, and nine runs scored across 84 plate appearances. Langford is still rostered in 89% of Yahoo leagues, though, after hitting 38 home runs, driving in 136, and stealing 41 bases in 268 games in his first two years in the majors.

Wyatt Langford Could Resume Swinging Soon

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) will do another forearm strength test on Wednesday, May 20, and if all goes well, he will be cleared to begin swinging a bat two days later and restart his full ramp-up, per MLB.com. Langford has been slow to recover from a Grade 1 right-flexor strain in his forearm after being placed on the 10-day injured list on April 22. He was originally expected to return in mid-May, but at this rate, the power/speed outfielder might be lucky to make it back to the Rangers before the end of the month. The oft-injured former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of the University of Florida made a quick rise to the big leagues and has teased his power/speed skills with 38 homers, 136 RBI, and 41 stolen bases in 268 games in his first two years in the league. Langford has only managed to play in 20 games in 2026, but he remains a must-stash for his multi-category upside in fantasy. He's currently rostered in 88% of Yahoo leagues. If he was dumped by his previous manager, scoop Langford up immediately.

Wyatt Langford Making Progress, Still has a Ways to Go

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) did another "strength test" on his forearm on Sunday and recovered well on Monday, according to Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. McFarland writes that it's a good sign and is an improvement for Langford, although he'll still need to pass a few more tests before he starts his hitting and throwing progressions. The 24-year-old is progressing, but rather slowly, and at this rate, we might not see him return from the 10-day injured list until June. Once Langford is finally cleared to resume baseball activities, he figures to need at least a short minor-league rehab assignment, too. Fantasy managers might be running out of patience with the former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of the University of Florida. He still has immense power/speed potential, but injuries continue to be the story here. Langford has only played in 20 games so far in 2026 and has hit .238 (19-for-80) with a homer, four RBI, three steals, and nine runs. He had his first 20-20 season in 2025 with 22 homers, 62 RBI, and 22 steals in just 134 contests.

Wyatt Langford is Shut Down for One Week

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) will miss at least one more week of action. He rejoined the team on Saturday ahead of their game against the Detroit Tigers. However, Langford won't play and will rest for a full week before being re-evaluated by the organization. He was on track to play on Saturday before aggravating his forearm injury during a rehab game on Thursday. The Rangers are going to play it safe and give Langford a week to rest and recover. The Rangers should give an updated timetable on his return once he resumes baseball activities.

Wyatt Langford Suffers Setback With Forearm Injury

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) felt something in his right forearm on Thursday and left an extended spring training game in Arizona early as a result, according to Jeff Wilson of All City DLLS. The Rangers are awaiting more information on Langford's injury. He could play again on Friday night in Arizona, but it's also possible that he'll have to restart his swing progression. Langford was playing in his first game action since landing on the 10-day injured list last week with a flexor strain in his right forearm. Although the Rangers think that this could end up being a minor setback, it likely means that Langford won't return to the team's lineup this Saturday as previously expected. With the 24-year-old's return to the MLB roster pushed back, Ezequiel Duran should continue to benefit from more playing time in the outfield for Texas going forward. Despite another injury and a slow start in 2026, Langford should be stashed in all fantasy leagues for his power/speed upside. He was hitting .238/.274/.363 with a homer, four RBI, three steals, and nine runs scored in just 20 games at the time of his forearm injury.

Wyatt Langford Expected to be Activated on Saturday

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) said the plan is for him to be activated from the 10-day injured list on Saturday, according to Jeff Wilson of All City DLLS. The Rangers want Langford to play in a minor-league rehab game somewhere on Thursday. Langford is attempting to come back from a flexor strain in his right forearm. Because of the nature of the 24-year-old's injury, the Rangers could use him more as the designated hitter in the big-league lineup upon his expected return this weekend. Ezequiel Duran has seen more playing time in left field in Texas with Langford on the shelf. Langford wasn't swinging the bat all that well in his first 80 at-bats of 2026 before his arm injury, going 19-for-80 (.238) with only one home run, four RBI, nine runs scored, and three stolen bases. Despite his quiet start, Langford is a must-roster and must-start outfielder for his power/speed upside in fantasy. The former fourth overall pick in 2023 from the University of Florida had 22 homers and 22 steals in just 134 games in 2025 in his second year in the big leagues.

Wyatt Langford Expected to Go on Injured List With Flexor Strain

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) said he's going on the injured list with a Grade 1 flexor strain in his right forearm that he suffered on a swing during Tuesday's win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to Jeff Wilson of All City DLLS. The good news for fantasy managers, though, is that he's only expected to need 10 days to get healthy again. The Rangers will recall outfielder Alejandro Osuna to replace Langford on the big-league roster. Ezequiel Duran, who got the start in left field on Wednesday with Langford sidelined, should see most of the playing time for the Rangers in the next 10 days in left field. The 24-year-old Langford has plenty of long-term upside because of his power and speed profile, but injuries continue to get in the way for the former fourth overall pick out of Florida in 2023. Fantasy managers should not be thinking of dumping him to the waiver wire. In his first 80 at-bats in 2026, Langford has 19 hits, a homer, four RBI, nine runs scored, and three stolen bases for the Rangers.

Wyatt Langford Sitting Out on Wednesday With Forearm Injury

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) is not in the team's starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates after being pulled from Tuesday's win early with right-forearm stiffness, according to MLB.com. Langford told reporters after Tuesday's game that he felt the tightness on a swing. He will undergo an MRI exam on Wednesday. It's bad timing for Langford, as he was the team's hottest hitter before the injury, going 7-for-14 in the three-game series against the Seattle Mariners over the weekend. In his first 80 at-bats of the 2026 season, the 24-year-old former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of the University of Florida has hit .238 (19-for-80) with a homer, three doubles, two triples, four RBI, nine runs, and three stolen bases in 20 games. Ezequiel Duran will make the start in left field and hit ninth on Wednesday against the Pirates and right-hander Braxton Ashcraft. Even if Langford requires a trip to the injured list, he should be stashed in all fantasy leagues due to his power/speed upside.

Wyatt Langford Pulled Early on Tuesday With Forearm Tightness

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (forearm) was removed early from Tuesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth inning with right-forearm tightness, according to Jeff Wilson of All City DLLS. Langford went 0-for-1 at the plate with a walk and a strikeout before leaving. He was replaced in left field and in the two-hole in the batting order by Ezequiel Duran. It's yet another injury for Langford, but until we know more about the severity of his forearm injury, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day. Check back on Wednesday to see if Langford is available to return versus the Pirates. Coming into Tuesday's action, the former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of the University of Florida was hitting .241/.268/.367 with a .635 OPS, one home run, four RBI, nine runs scored, and two stolen bases in 79 at-bats. It's been a disappointing start for Langford, but he's still very appealing in fantasy for his power/speed upside if he can stay healthy. Duran would likely be the biggest beneficiary of playing time in Texas' outfield if Langford winds up on the injured list.
