Aaron Wiggins Remains Sidelined For Monday’s Contest
Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Aaron Wiggins (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's game vs. Charlotte, marking his second consecutive absence. Prior to his illness, Wiggins had cracked the starting rotation with consistency and logged a career-high 25-point performance last Wednesday. Without him on the wing, Aleksej Pokusevski should continue to see a significant minutes uptick, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tre Mann are set to see all of the shot attempts that they can handle. Wiggins' next chance to return to action comes Wednesday against the Spurs.

The timing of the illness is unfortunate as the rookie is coming off of one of his best games of the year. On Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Wiggins scored a career-high 25 points while shooting 9-for-19 from the field, including 5-for-8 from three-point range. He also had nine boards and five assists in the game. Wiggins should see heavy usage the rest of the way this year when active. He's worth rostering in most standard fantasy leagues. With his absence on Sunday, Theo Maledon and fellow rookie guard Vit Krejci could see some extra minutes.

Wiggins was only able to play nine minutes before exiting the game and being unable to return due to an ankle issue. Vit Krejci started in the second half in place Wiggins on Monday. He'll likely pick up additional playing time, assuming Wiggins is forced to miss time. Krejci could have low-end streaming appeal if he's asked to play a bigger role going forward.

He was the 55th overall pick from the 2021 NBA Draft. Wiggins hasn't been a huge contributor, but has already made 18 starts for the Thunder this season. He is averaging 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists in 21.9 minutes per game. He isn't exactly someone who is relevant in most fantasy formats, but could be a nice piece for this roster over the next few seasons.

Oklahoma City Thunder shooting guard/small forward Aaron Wiggins has been bumped back into the starting lineup for Thursday's contest against Phoenix, marking the fourth start of his career. Even when getting a minutes bump, Wiggins has yet to prove his fantasy relevance, with early career highs of six points, four rebounds and four assists to his credit. The Thunder are one of the rare teams to not be dealing with wholesale issues stemming from the league's health and safety protocols, which likely means that Wiggins won't be vastly exceeding his prior usage, thereby making him a risky DFS option.

It sounds like the Thunder want to continue taking things game-by-game. They've considered both big and small lineups, but it doesn't seem like they plan on sticking with one. That being said, Bazley and Wiggins are going to have inconsistent value going forward. It sounds like their roles in the rotation are uncertain, which makes them tough to trust on a nightly basis.
