Onyeka Okongwu News
Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu (hamstring) is available to play Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Okongwu missed one game due to hamstring soreness but will return to his normal bench role on Wednesday. Okongwu figures to split the center minutes with Clint Capela while Jalen Johnson and AJ Griffin should see a slight decrease in minutes.
Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu (hamstring) is questionable for Wednesday's game against OKC. The 22-year-old didn't suit up for Monday's contest in Chicago because of hamstring tightness, allowing Clint Capela to go for 16 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals in 36 minutes of work. That said, with Capela healthy, he'll likely remain the top option in the middle versus the Thunder, so Okongwu's fantasy potential is limited, even if he's good to go.
Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu (hamstring) has been given the questionable tag heading into Monday's contest against the Chicago Bulls. The 22-year-old big man was starting while Clint Capela was injured and still receives north of 20 minutes per game off of the bench. If he's unable to play, Frank Kaminsky and Jalen Johnson would likely see more action off of the bench. In deeper leagues, Kaminsky would probably be the better streaming option of the two.
Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu took full advantage of Myles Turner's (back) absence on Friday and dominated under the rim against Indiana in a 113-111 win. He had an amazing start with 14 first-quarter points and ended up finishing with 18 points and a career-high 20 rebounds. He delivered four assists and also crushed it on the defensive end with two steals and four blocks The 22-year-old led the team with 39 minutes and enjoyed a 9-for-12 shooting night. Okongwu has done a superb job filling in for Clint Capela (calf), averaging 10.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks as a starter. On Friday, it was announced that Capela remains without a timetable, meaning there should be plenty of more big games in store for Okongwu.
