CJ McCollum News
New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum (thumb, shoulder) underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a UCL tear in his right thumb. He also suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Fortunately, the 31-year-old won't need surgery for that and will participate in a rehab program during the offseason. McCollum is coming off another quality season, finishing the 2022-23 campaign by averaging 20.9 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 38.9% from deep in 75 games. While he is getting older and his production is declining somewhat, he should remain a quality fantasy asset next season, especially since he should be 100% by training camp.
New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum (shoulder) struggled during Wednesday's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Afterwards, the 31-year-old mentioned he played the final seven games of the regular season with a torn labrum in his shoulder. McCollum also said that he plans to undergo thumb surgery this offseason. Possibly, nagging injuries are part of the reasons McCollum struggled a bit more this season. Now, he'll get a full offseason to rest and recover for the 2023-2024 campaign.
New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum posted one of his lowest-scoring games of the season with their post-season hopes on the line. The 31-year-old veteran could only muster 14 points, four assists, two rebounds, two steals, and one block on 5-for-15 shooting from the floor and 1-for-5 from deep. While the Pelicans did get some scoring elsewhere, they needed more from McCollum to go against the high-powered offense of the Thunder. Fortunately, he's signed through the next three seasons, and should be a very good complimentary piece to Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson.
New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum supported Brandon Ingram's big night by putting up the second-most points on the team during their 107-88 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Thursday. The former Trail Blazer ended the game with 23 points and three assists on 8-for-15 shooting from the floor and 6-for-8 from beyond the arc. This wasn't the most well-rounded game of his career, but the scoring and threes surely helped a good bit of fantasy managers.
